House backs up to the US Forest Service with private views under the stars in the hot tub or enjoy the Tahoe Donner trail system for hiking and biking from the back yard. If you're a golfer take a short drive over to the golf course and driving range. In winter you're in the perfect spot for trips to Squaw Valley, Northstar or Sugar Bowl or use the Tahoe Donner skiing just minutes away.

This home combines the secluded feel from its location with modern technology. A mesh wifi network powers a fully featured smart home with wifi enabled locks, garage doors and outdoor cameras for your security to two 65+in TVs in the bar room to DirecTV in both livings and the bar. Enjoy streaming music in any room and outdoors!

We had a fantastic stay. House was spacious, clean and well stocked for our group of adults, kids and babies. The layout gave everyone plenty of room, the beds were comfortable and the common areas were great for relaxing after the little ones went down to sleep. The back yard was ideal for the kiddos to get out some energy. AJ was responsive and helpful. Would stay again.

Wonderful home, host and stay!

We took our kids and their grandparents to stay at AJ’s wonderful place. It was spacious, wonderfully set up and perfectly located for skiing at Tahoe donner and using the nearby rec center. We would happily return! Thanks for a fantastic stay, AJ!

Perfect home!

We enjoyed everything about this home. It was comfortable, beautiful, open floor plan, beautiful deck over looking the forest, awesome game room and more! Stayed in July, cannot imagine how beautiful it must be year round. Hope to stay again!

Amazing Experience

Our stay at this property was fantastic from start to finish. The host, A.J., is incredibly responsive and helpful, the house is well stocked with necessities, and the location is absolutely perfect for playing in the snow. Our kids had a week they will never forget. Would love to stay here again!

Wonderful Tahoe Retreat

Stayed here with the family and 4-year-old son and it is an incredible house! Spacious, modern, warm, comfortable, clean, and very close to Donner Summit and Truckee. The house is very well stocked. Spacious and comfortable king suites, open kitchen / great room area, and fantastic game room and bar downstairs. Wish I owned a house like this! Worth every penny.

Another fantastic stay at Hillside House!

This was our second time staying at this property. It was every bit as wonderful as we remembered it. Clean, well appointed, cozy, beautiful neighborhood, responsive owner. What more can you ask for? Perfect floor plan for two families to share!

Gorgeous, Well-Designed Property

We rented this property for a ski get-away for my five person family. The house is incredibly well designed with two primary suites two bedrooms and ample additional space in the game room and common areas. The house is well-equipped with all cooking and dining needs. Each bed was incredibly comfortable with high-end memory foam mattresses. The hot tub was the perfect respite after days of tough, snow-laden skiing. Communication with the property manager was pro-active, helpful and speedy. We look forward to coming back!

The best vacation rental we have stayed in

We had a lovely time at this property. It was perfect for our group of eight, 4 adults and 4 children. The house was impeccably clean and well cared for. We have stayed at our share of vacation rentals in Tahoe and this one is at the top of the list. The kitchen was extremely well appointed with every type of cooking utensil and gadget, a major bonus during these times when eating out can be very challenging. The kids and adults enjoyed the bonus room downstairs with bar and pool table. Double masters is a major plus for two families renting this home. Beautiful neighborhood, great for walks. Sled hill on the side of the house provided all day entertainment for kids. Owner was very welcoming and responsive to all of our questions. I am so happy we found this property and will definitely be renting again in the future.

Sensational Property w/Stunning Views!

I recently stayed at the Hillside property in October 2018 and it did not disappoint! The home is situated in the most beautiful & serene setting with stunning mountain and forest views. The house is incredibly well-furnished and well-appointed and had everything we needed for our weekend visit. We were also incredibly impressed by how nice the mattresses were in every bedroom - they all seemed to be high-quality Tempur-pedics, so everyone slept really well. And words (or pictures) really can't even describe how awesome the "BAR" room is on the bottom floor of the house; it is absolutely stunning and such a fun place to hang out with family or friends. AJ, the owner of the home, was also super nice and very responsive. I would HIGHLY recommend this home to others, and I'll definitely be coming back here to stay again sometime soon. If I could give this property 10 stars, I would.

Lake Tahoe Getaway!

We came as a group of friends to explore Hot August nights in Reno. This house had the perfect location as we wanted to visit the event and explore around Lake Tahoe too. We took advantage of the amenities at the house like the pool table and the beautiful kitchen to cook our meals and play games at night after our day out. AJ answers very quickly to any questions you may have. I have 1 suggestion and that would be to add wash cloths to the house as we could not find any. It's a very beautiful house. We heard a very vocal coyote one night. We loved our stay and would visit again. Thank you!

Great Family Rental for Winter Fun

Well appointed, deceivingly large cabin with all desired amenities and rustic charm. The layout is perfect for our large group to spread out. The expansive back area is beautiful but also great for snow play with the kids. Beds are comfortable, kitchen well appointed with quality cutlery utensils. Overall it was a great experience and I’d stay again.

Great house with very well-equipped kitchen, great location quiet, lots to do in the Tahoe Donner development and nearby. House has lots of space, attractive decor and felt was nice and clean when we arrived. I would return to this beautiful home. The owner was very easy to contact and replied promptly to our questions.

Excellent rental, excellent host

The rental was amazing. The house was perfect for our group. Very clean and very scenic area. The host is one of the best I have dealt with. He responds immediately and makes sure the stay is of utmost quality. The house had everything we needed. Once we figured out the hot tub, it was great. His property manager came over immediately and helped us with the hot tub. I have nothing but good things to say about the place, the host and the property manager. I definitely will stay here again and will recommend the place to my colleagues who travel to Tahoe. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you so much for the amazing experience.

Amazing cabin for a great price

AJ was absolutely one of the best host I've ever rented from. Communication was 10/10 and the cabin was delightful! All the little attention to detail and expensive decor does not do the cabin justice in pictures. Kitchen Aid equipment, SUPER comfortable beds, and amazing decor. Do not hesitate to book from AJ, you will not be disappointed!

Donner house

We had a wonderful stay In Truckee. House is well equipped with everything you would have at your personal residence. We saw large bear in the back yard one morning. Very nice patio with hot tub and nice bbq grill we used several times. AJ was available via text to answer a question we had. Overall awesome experience

Perfection!

Loved our entire experience! The house is beautiful with all the amenities and more! AJ was awesome with communication and ensuring we had everything we needed. The game had hours of entertainment, hot tub hot and overall house as roomy as could be. We can’t wait to come back!!! Highly recommended for a family or friends weekend!

Perfect House and Location

We enjoyed a perfect 3- night stay. The house was immaculate and extremely well appointed. This is a great home for large families or groups with 4 full bathrooms and comfortable sleeping for at least 12-14 people. The decor and furnishings as well as the state of the art entertainment system, game room, and beautiful bar makes it easy to just stay at the home if you didn’t want to enjoy all that the Tahoe-Donner and Truckee areas have to offer. The owner’s check in process was very easy and he communicated very well with us. We recommend this property without hesitation!

Beautiful location and house

We love staying at the Hillside House. This is our second time, with friends, and now that we know our way around a bit more, it was a most enjoyable stay in the summer. Owner is responsive and flexible, accommodating all requests. Would love to stay here again.
