Maui family vacation

It was a perfect property. Everything you need available from a full kitchen to beach chairs and towels. We left beach umbrellas and snorkel gear so now the property has that as well. Only minor issue was loose plug by master bed making the bedside lamp an "on and off" situation. All TVs worked, no pests...just perfect! Thank you for a wonderful trip!!!

Relaxing stay at Papakea

We've stayed at the Papakea probably 8+ times in the past and this was the first time in B407. The condo location in the complex was great. We wanted to relax this time around and we really enjoyed the amenities (pool, spa, grounds, pickleball courts) as well as had fun in the organized activities (yoga, water exercise, putting tourney, and Mai Tai night). The unit was well stocked with kitchen and cooking supplies, bath towels, some old putters (check out balls at front desk), and there were also chairs & play equipment for the beach. Beds were comfortable. We took 1 star away only because there were constant small ant-like bugs on the kitchen and bath counters - had to keep food zip locked tight and off the counters. They were doing pest spraying during our stay and still the bugs won the battle. The only other thing was that the tradewinds were pretty strong during our stay, which helped to really cool the condo down with doors and windows open. However if it were really warm without tradewinds, we could only imagine the small single A/C unit running constantly to keep up with the heat. We are staying again in September, so we'll see how the heat treats us then. We also had very minor issues with kitchen supplies/equipment and called Vacasa - they were very apologetic and responded within hours. We look forward to visiting in September.

Great Place

The view was amazing! Such a pretty sunset our second night. The pools were good. Beach isn't the best, but there are plenty of beaches on Maui! There were some bugs in the kitchen like people have mentioned before, but we stayed 4 nights at a bigger hotel and the bugs there were much worse. I think it is just one of the pit falls of island life! I do wish there was some type of cooling in the back room besides fans. (but we did get plenty of sleep. It wasn't a deal breaker.)

Fabulous view, convenient location

We enjoyed a relaxing stay at your condo. The view is wonderful, the location peaceful and the location was great, situated near groceries and restaurants within walking distance. Having a washer and dryer was really a bonus too. Vacasa helped right away when we needed more beach towels and shampoo.

Ants everywhere and A/C not efficient.

I inquired Prior to booking re efficiency of AC unit. This is our third visit to Papakea This visit was a work trip for my hubby that we tagged along w. We also met other family renting 2 additional units (diff prop mgmt co). We arrived and the unit was 87’ and ants all over the kitchen walls. I messaged The night of arrival and told unit “should” cool down. It did not. We barely slept. The bedroom and loft remained 10-15’ warmer than LR. I had To call, text, and email SIX times before head drop off 2 additional fans. They refused upon first several contacts. Meanwhile, our family members prop mgrs brought fans immediately upon request. Ants got worse, even after they supposedly came into unto and sprayed. We had to store all of our non perishable food the the fridge. This unit is NOT worth the cost and the owners def need to investigate a new prop mgmt company AFTER taking care of the ant problem. Think towice before booking!!

Perfect for a family vacation!

All the convenience of having your “own place” with a kitchen and two full bathrooms and washer and dryer…..all with the added “resort style” amenities! Pool and beach access was the perfect added bonus! BBQs were great to have as well! Very family oriented and we loved how less chaotic the resort was compared to others just down the way. The staff was very friendly and it was obvious they all worked hard to keep the grounds clean and beautiful! The side access gate to the ABC store come in handy daily! Thank you for a great stay! We will definitely book here again!

Beautiful home

Everything about this apartment was fantastic. The view is amazing to wake up to every morning. The place was spotless and so comfortable to live in. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with supplies to truly cook. The location of the place was really great- walking distance to cafes and grocery stores and easily drivable to the great places Maui has to offer. The amenities in the complex were wonderful too. We would happily stay here again. Thank you!

Amazing Vacation

We give Papakea Resort B407 5 stars! The condo is well-equipped, in a perfect location, has great view of the ocean from the balcony, we watched turtles swimming by as we sat by the ocean. Short trip to Lahaina and Whalers Village. Would highly recommend.

First Maui Experience

The location of this property is second to none. 4th floor facing the pool area and the ocean. All the facilities that are needed. Close to the BBQs which we used most ever day. Pool, hot tub and putting green are great but the shuffle board is of no use given the surface material. We found the space in the condo very comfortable for 4 adults. The condo has been well used and is due for a very good cleaning. Carpets need cleaning or replacement. Response to our request for some replacement items was good. Would definitely return to this property if there was some assurance that more attention was being given to the cleaning.

Great location with a nice view

Check-in was easy and instructions for the stay was informative Property has all the amenities we needed - plenty of beach towels, bath towels, shampoos, hairdryer, kitchenware, dish/ laundry detergents, etc. Rooms were nice - lamps, plugs, and hangers in the right places Great ocean from our window, which was really nice seeing that first thing when you wake up!

Papakea Resort

Stayed in a 2 bed 2 bath condo that was perfect for 2 couples. Had a great time exploring nearby beaches and enjoying the property. The AC unit is a window unit that does not adequately cool down the whole unit, especially the front bedroom that had open windows with slats so it is like a sleeping porch feeling. That bedroom was too hot during our whole stay, even with that ceiling fans and fans used in the unit. It is definitely cooler than outside in the rest of the condo, but doesn’t get cooled down enough. The condo was adequately equipped with kitchen items as well as beach tommy bahama chairs and some snorkel gear. Would stay here again if it was cheaper or if they updated the AC.

Great view, lots of amenities, a little mistake

My family enjoyed the stay at B407. We had an amazing view of the sunset, ocean and the pool. The high ceiling gave lots of room to the space even for a family of 5 (all adults). You can't avoid having tiny little bugs - you either have some or so much. The unit didn't have excessive amount of those bugs but my mom still got some bites while we were there for 4 nights. There was a little mistake made by Vacasa towards the end of our stay. They submitted a wrong paperwork to Papakea Resorts that we'd be staying 3 nights instead of 4. So on the day before our checkout, we were locked out of the unit after coming back from the beach. So I had to show up at the reception in my swimsuit, still wet, to sort this thing right. Thankfully they hadn't clean the room yet so nothing got missing. But it was a pretty poor incident. Other than that, we have no complaints. We would actually come back to this unit if we plan another vacation in Maui.

Resort is right on the Beach

Papakea Resort is above Kaanapali near resort row. DT Fleming Beach is to the North and Kaanapali Beach is to the South. Resort / Hotel is very easy to find off the main Highway 30. When checking into the resort, park in front and go to the main lobby hostess area and check in to your room first. Leave your luggage in the car. After getting your room keys then park in front of your building so you don’t have to lug your luggage around finding your room. The resort has 7 buildings and each one is number after a letter A-G. The good: There are 2 pools with BBQ propane grills set around pool area with tables. The room we booked had an upstairs bedroom /bathroom and a downstairs bedroom /bathroom. The room was awesome and spacious for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. Recommed using the upstairs bedroom area, it’s a lot cooler on top, than the downstairs bedroom. There is a small window ac unit and fan in the living area that circulates air well into upstairs area. Downstairs was really stuffy and I had a hard time sleeping. Next time if we stay there, definitely going to have the kids stay downstairs and me and wifey will be upstairs :)The room itself had everything you need for hanging out. It felt more like a condo/ home instead of a hotel room. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and had a Spartan/ spacious feel. There is even a laundry unit with washer and dryer inside closet area, detergent was also included. The room had all the essentials for a day out, beach towels were included with bogey board. And bathrooms were all appointed with soap, body wash, hand soap, shampoo, hairdryer and extra towels. Pro-Tip, this room B407 has all the essentials for home cooked meals, such as plates, bowls, silverware, utensils, fridge and paper towels. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, even down to dishwasher, Ajax Soap and scrubber. If staying longer than 4 days, go get groceries first before checking into hotel. Right next to the Airport is Costco or Target. Go there first before driving 30 miles to resort. Costco or Target will be the cheapest, or go to Safeway in Lahaina and get a membership card. Food is very expensive in Hawaii in general about 50% more than the mainland, so even if you just cook one meal in instead of eating out you’ll save money. A very nice touch when checking into the room was a box of chocolate and bag of coffee on the counter. That was a nice surprise. The Bad: Lots of tiny bugs in kitchen area.

Right on the ocean

Very nice property, office staff was friendly and professional our condo was on the parking lot side so it was a bit noisy. The only real criticism is that if you're expecting actual a/c this unit did not have it there is a window unit in the living area but the bedrooms were like ovens,however we didn't come to Maui to sit inside, so it was fine.

Awesome Resort near Kaanapali

We had to throw that stuff away. No matter how many times we cleaned the counter and walls with Ajax Soap before and after we ate breakfast, the next we’ll see the bugs again. Luckily they are only in the kitchen area. After seeing those bugs, we made sure we washed the dishes before we ate and after we ate, definitely didn’t want any bugs on our silverware crawling around at night. This place was recommended by 2 coworkers that used VRBO and stayed here before.... they stayed in a “G” room building. We only stayed for 4 days, but had an awesome time in Maui. I would give this place 5 STARS because we had such a great time in Maui. This was the last getaway for the kids before they started school in 2 days. However, due to the bugs I would give it only 3 STARS, talk about Roach Motel!! Me and wifey killed over 100 little bugs o...

10 day stay!

This condo is affordable, clean, updated, and has the best view on the island! The location is perfect. It's close to shopping, beautiful beaches, and fine dining. The condo is spacious enough for a family of 5 without issues. The AC unit worked extremely well, and kept the entire condo cool, even the upstairs. In the evening the back sliding doors provided a wonderful ocean breez, with a one of a kind view. The condo maintains easy access to BBQ's that were located poolside no more than 20 yards away. Upon arrival, the condo unit was extremely clean. Both the washer and dryer appeared to be newer appliances, and worked wonderfully. It also had elevator access, which was great for our elderly family members. It was extremely affordable based on the amount of space provided. The full kitchen allowed us to save money by utilizing the appliances and cooking our meals. The affordability, location, view, and dining, makes this condo a must stay! I plan on going back every year to this rental! 🤙🤙🤙
