This charming home, located in the heart of Wild Dunes, will draw you back again and again. This home away from home is tucked into a beautiful natural setting but is only a bike ride to the ocean and many surrounding activities.

The home is approximately 2000 sq. ft. and has 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a great room, a separate dining room, and laundry room.

The main level contains the kitchen and dining area, the living room, the Master Suite, and laundry room. The kitchen has plenty of cabinet space, and includes all stainless steel appliances. The Master Suite on the main level has with a large bathroom with spacious stand-alone shower, and a King Bed. The master also has a trundle twin bed with a rolling twin underneath. The remaining three bedrooms are on the second floor; one of the rooms has two twin beds, while the other two each have queen beds. All three bedrooms on the second level share a bathroom, which has a tub/shower combo.

Wi-Fi and Linens are included. No Smoking and No Pets. **Motor homes, trailers, boats, golf carts, and motorcycles are not allowed within the gates of Wild Dunes**. Gas grill and outdoor shower located on garage level in rear of home.

Rentals are stocked with small ‘starter packs’ that include: toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, soap, dishwashing soap, and dishwasher detergent.

Great 4 nights spent here for a wedding at Sweetgrass!

This was a lovely home with plenty of space for the 8 of us staying for a wedding! Walking access to Sweetgrass Inn and the beach were great too!

Really nice house, very close to the main Wild Dunes resort bars and restaurants, and golf courses. If you rent a golf cart you will never have to get back in your car. Only knock would be lack of outdoor hang out space, just a few small decks. But overall, exactly as advertised and was perfect for our weekend away.

Baseball Trip

House was perfect for what we needed it to be. Ample room and convenience. Shower handle broke upstairs and was prompt in repairs and wasn’t disruptive of our stay.

Thanks so much for your comments! We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately, due to liability concerns we cannot let guests have use of the owners golf cart locked in the garage. We do have companies we recommend so that you can rent one during your stay. We will certainly have someone check on the garage door code as well. Thanks for letting us know.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as four longtime friends meeting up for a weekend. The home was beautiful, well kept, and conveniently located to Wild Dunes’ amenities. Check in was a breeze and though we didn’t need to, it was clear how to reach out if we had any issues or problems.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The house had everything we needed and was perfect for our group of 9. Beds were comfortable, plenty of seating in the living & dining rooms, everything we needed in the kitchen, and very clean. Thank you for hosting us! If we are back next summer, we will book again!!

Great house

Great house, just as expected. Location was good. It was easier than expected to get on and off the Wild Dunes property. I had thought that would be an issue, but it turned out to be very easy going through the gate. There is road side parking near the beach access 46 - so it was also easy to get to and from the beach.

Good size and comfy beds. 15 min walk to beachHowever there are a few points that should be noted-Very basic toiletries provided Bring your ownNothing in kitchen - no salt, pepper, condiments.For a house of this cost a basic starter pack should be expected - coffee, tea, sugar, creamer packets, laundry detergent. Also no beach towels or chairs which would be expected as most people staying here are flying in from out if state so can't bring. We had a few maintenance issues and they were very quick to respond.Lots of lightbulbs not working.

Great place to stay

This place is in a good location in the middle of Wild Dunes. The house is in decent shape, but could use a deep clean and a fresh coat of paint would go a long way. Based on the guest book, there were guests very recently, but it seemed like it hadn't been used in a long time. Guests mentioned access to a pool, but you do not get access to any of the WD pools. There's a golf cart with a busted tire in the garage - access to that since this house isn't very close to the beach would have been really nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and didn't have any huge complaints.

Thank you so much for your comments. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. We perform deep cleans before and after every season and there are plans to paint the entire house at the end of the season. This home used to have access to a Wild Dunes sports card, which allowed guests to pay for access to the pool. Unfortunately wild dunes does not offer that any more so there is no longer access to a pool at this time. The golf cart is the owners personal property and letting guests use is too much of a liability. There are a number of companies which we work with that allow you to rent them during your stay if you so wish to do so in the future.

Best getaway with family

The photos of the home don’t do it justice! Such a beautiful place to stay and the beach access was only 10-15 mins from the house which made it perfect for the 10 of us! House was huge, easy to get to and perfect for all our needs! Just a few things made us give the cleanliness a 5 star were the downstairs walk in shower. It needs a good scrub and bleach. And some of the beds and pillows were pretty stiff, and we were told to leave the comforters and not put them with the sheets to be washed so I’m hoping those get washed or switched out for every stay. But other than that the house gets a 5 star and we will definitely be back!

House was lovely- beds were brutally awful

If you would like to feel like you’ve thrown your back out- this is fine. I’ve slept on the ground camping and felt better. As a runner and fairly athletic person, a bed that leave me unable to move and stand comfortably shocks me. I’m days after my stay, and I still hurt. Other than the beds (others in the house also said their beds were awful), the house was nice. Location as well.

Thank you for your comments. We will be certain to take a look at the beds as most guests have stated they have been very comfortable during their stay. Next time please call while you are here, and we can see if we can provide options such as mattress toppers to help during your stay. Especially since desired firmness for mattresses is different for everyone.

Best week ever!

We loved this property and especially loved the decor and the natural light! The view of the lagoon was amazing and we got to see blue herons, alligators and deer! We rented a cart to go to the beach as it was a half mile from beach access. My sister stayed close to the beach so we parked in her driveway so it made it very convenient. Some days we walked and that gave us some exercise, it wasn’t bad! The only issue we had was the first day when we found a dead squirrel under the house near the outdoor shower and that whole area had not been cleaned. ( The outdoor shower area) Maintenance came as soon as I called and got rid of the dead squirrel though! 🙂

Minor suggestion - would suggest that the locks on house get changed out to keyless/digital, very difficult to lock and unlock. Also, its inconvenient to have to go by the rental office to pickup and dropoff keys. Also the cooking pans/sheets need to be repurchased, hard to clean because they are too worn. There should be instructions on how to use the thermostat...its digital and we figured it out but it just so happened to conk out when we arrived. Maintenance fixed very quickly after a phone call. We also had a fam member leave wallet and it was recovered and returned.

Thanksgiving

My family and I enjoy spending time in Wild Dunes for Thanksgiving. This is our fifth year in a row! This property is very close to everything! The ease of getting around is perfect. We always rent bikes and a golf cart! Unfortunately, when we arrived the upstairs only bathroom had a clogged sink. With it being Thanksgiving holiday, the offices were closed even though I emailed for a maintenance request. Six of us had to use the powder, room sink, and the master bedroom sink which worked out, but was not ideal. The day before leaving a maintenance personnel arrives to take a look and said he was unable to unclog in a normal fashion. By this point, we said never mind we are leaving tomorrow. We have been without it for three days so one more day not a big deal. Also, I would suggest the owner/management company take inventory and purchase adequate kitchen wares. There was one glass bowl two casserole dishes and a hodgepodge of plastic containers to use during our stay. We had to buy disposable foil containers to prepare our Thanksgiving meal.

Great place to stay and a great location.

The check in was easy. However, the front door key does not work very well and I would recommend fixing that issue. I took me a few minutes to figure it out. You are looking at about a 15 mintue walk to the beach. 5-20 minutes to area restaurants. Not bad but just be aware. The location was very quiet and not a lot of noise and traffic. Great area for walking, jogging, and biking. House was clean although the back section of tile in the kitchen needs to be chaulked because ants were coming through. Not a big deal and an easy fix. The upstairs bathroom faucet you have to pull out the handle to get the shower to turn on. There should be some instructions available. There was a work order in the drawer down stairs otherwise I would not have figured it out. Probably just need to change out the plumbing. Overall a good place to stay and would recommend to others. I do recommend replacing the front door lock, chaulking the kitchen couter and fixing the upstairs faucet. Do your homework on area restaurants and it will be better to reserve ahead of time if possible.

Wonderful four day get away!

We've stayed in IOP on multiple occasions at various locations, each place having their own advantages. 5827 was perfect for beach time without the price of being on the beach. House was clean, but tired. Exactly what I would expect from a rental property. Beds were stiff and the house needs updating, but again it was clean and provided everything we needed. Just needs a little TLC. Minor things were broken, ceiling fan at the front porch, shelves in refrigerator, chipped coffee mugs, etc.. otherwise well appointed and worth the price.
