THE VIEW
D17 Beach Retreat has a front-row view as it is located in the only complex in Oceanside that sits directly On-The-Sand and D17 sits as close to the water as you can get without your swimsuit on! Enjoy panoramic unobstructed ocean views from the master bedroom, living room, kitchen, or on the back porch while lounging back and reading a book.

KITCHEN AND DINING
Enjoy an updated kitchen with beautiful Corian countertops and custom cabinets. The cabinets are fully stocked with all the basic cooking utensils you need to prepare your culinary masterpieces while on your beach vacation. The dining table seats 6.

LIVING AREAS
In the main living room area, you'll find plenty of seating for the whole family on a comfortable sofa sleeper couch with a chaise lounge and an oversized armchair sofa sleeper. Sit back and enjoy the 50” LED flatscreen mounted on the wall at the end of a long day in the waves. Cable is also provided free of charge. For the occasional cool winter day - or to create an ambiance - there is a gas fireplace that is fully functional for your enjoyment.

The master bathroom features a custom tiled walk-in shower and the guest bathroom includes a tub/shower combo.

SLEEPING
D17 is set up to sleep 6 guests. The master bedroom features a comfortable King-sized bed where you can be lulled to sleep by the sounds of waves crashing at night. The second bedroom has a queen and twin bed and both bedrooms have cable TV. For additional sleeping arrangements, there is also a queen sofa sleeper in the living room.

-This unit comes with 1 assigned parking space in the garage underneath the building.
-A PacknPlay Travel Crib is provided in the unit for those traveling with younger guests.
-Hi-speed wireless internet provided free of charge.
-D17 is also fully equipped with all the needed beach equipment to have a truly magical beach vacation including boogie boards (4), beach towels (6), sand toys, beach umbrella (1), and beach chairs. (4).

LOCAL AREA / AMENITIES
D17 is located at North Coast Village, an oceanfront complex between the Oceanside Pier and the Harbor, built directly on the sand and just steps to the beach. Enjoy the lush tropical gardens with beautiful waterfalls, streams, koi ponds, and hidden alcoves. You'll have access to amenities such as a lagoon-style year-round heated pool and hot tub, commercial-sized barbeque area, putting green, fitness center, sauna, reserved garage parking, as well as laundry facilities in the complex with card/app operated washers and dryers, and 24-hr security to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. North Coast Village is truly a one-stop location for an unforgettable vacation.

If that's not enough, you can head down to the harbor or the pier and enjoy such activities as fine dining, jet ski, kayak, bike, and surfboard rentals, sailboat excursions, and deep-sea fishing. North Coast Village is so centrically located you can walk to everything near the beach and your car can stay in its secure, underground parking spot- no hassling for beach parking!

**PLEASE NOTE there is no AC in the unit. For the most part, Oceanside is known for its temperate climate that stays in the "Goldilocks Zone" all year round, meaning not too hot, not too cold. If you do happen to be visiting during a warm spell we do provide fans in the condo to help create cooling cross breezes.

Quick get away to the beach

We wanted to get away to the coast from the heat of the desert and enjoyed our stay in Oceanside. It location was perfect - near everything and the view of the ocean and the sunsets were unmatched!

Location was Awesome

The property is right at the waters edge which makes this an ideal location. However, the comfort left something to be desired. The cleanliness was alright, but sitting on the couch it was obvious it needed cleaning. The king sized bed was only comfortable if you didn't move around. Those in charge of the linens (property managment company) use heavy cotton in an area known for humidity...so sheets stuck to one's body, adding to heat. They also use a flat sheet rather than a fitted on a mattress that was inserted into the frame so every night the bed sheets came undone and it was not easy to lift th mattress to attempt to refold the fitted sheet into place. The utensils were lacking a full set of anything. The previous renters put things away unwashed (oil still in frying pan) and I doubt the housekeeping checks this. Only two dish towels for a full week and only two wash cloths for four adults. I could live with it because the location was what I was there for. BUT seems the owner's/management are counting on location for top dollar and comfort within the unit. It was nice that boogie boards and chairs were supplied and decent quality as well. Management company did offer credit to stay at another location due to boarding up ocean facing windows and doors due to weather. However, since it was the last night of our stay, a credit back would have been better suited as packing up to just spend night in a different place for one night before leaving (and not on the beach) seemed useless and silly. Wondering if they were counting of this so as not to have to actually provide the credit? Better to go home to my own bed.

Loved the beachfront condo with ocean view. Accommodations were good and condo very clean. It is my fourth year renting at North Shore Village, and all condos are clean. However, this condo was my favorite!

Greatest beach spot!

This place is decorated so cute. It is so comfortable and well stocked with crock pot and boogie boards! it has the greatest views of the ocean! Late each night we watched the pelican dive for fish, one night we saw a seal jumping in the waves. The view to the pier at night is spectacular. We loved listening to the ocean waves with our window open all night. I also loved lifting up from my bed to see the waves through the window! Couldn’t be better!

Perfect affordable property for beach vacation

The condo was fabulous, clean & organized, had almost everything we needed, it was super cute and had comfortable beds. Great beach and pool access. The condo grounds are very nice and well kept. Due to Covid, the game room and gym were closed and we had to make pool reservations but it wasn’t an issue since we spent most of our time at the beach. Upon check in, the HOA rules we were given sounded over the top (no sunscreen allowed in pool, etc). I was a little worried, but it was fine, they didn’t seem to be strict at enforcing them. We brought some sheets and chairs from our home to use at the beach but the condo has a great umbrella and some chairs too. We used Walmart grocery delivery which worked perfectly to meet the driver at the gate. The condo only provides 2 tiny tubes of shampoo/conditioner, not enough for 6 people for 4 nights, so we just bought some with our groceries. There are very limited spices in the condo, no cooking oil and the fridge is clean and empty, so plan accordingly. We were not able to get “regular tv” to work to watch some games so be aware. We did have Netflix access which was great and there are lots of games there too. Location was close enough to go to San Diego and Newport Beach - and everything in between. Overall it was a great stay! Would highly recommend staying here!

Location, location, location

What can I say? You can’t get any closer to the water. It’s amazing. The place was comfortable and had everything we needed for a weekend. It wasn’t the cleanest, but hey- you’re on the sand. Be prepared for “sugar ants” everywhere, including in your bed the first night. A few things didn’t work properly/broken but I understand that furniture and fixtures take a beating that close to the water.

65th Birthday Celebration

After owning a house on the beach in Rosarito Beach for over 30 years I felt like I was home again. The sound of ocean, the fresh sea air, morning coffee, sunset on the patio, all truly amazing. The grounds are well manicured to a point you felt like you were in a resort, truly gorgeous. Wonderful weekend and we cannot wait until we book again.

wonderful location and excellent apartment

Had a really great stay. The apartment was very comfortable and clean with lovely seaside themed decor. The location, right on the ocean, was amazing. To be able to sit out and watch the sun go down was a bonus. Unfortunately, we had a problem with the tv, unable to understand how to change channels and the screen was very dark, tried adjusting the brightness etc. but it kept defaulting to previous settings? Overall, I would thoroughly recommend the property. Misty, who I dealt with was very helpful and was pleasant to deal with.

Our only criticism was jam at check in..and the trouble parking to check in . Sad that all places seem to run the same check in day..Guest parking was tough too since we had local family for day visits. j But the location had to be one of the best in the whole complex and we wee so glad that we got that unit Check in was a nightmare, but that was the donly fly in the ointment..This was truly one of the best units and locations in the complex

Wonderful beachfront property in a beautiful location.

My family and I throughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely condo. The grounds of North Coast Village are gorgeous and well maintained. The condo itself was nicely appointed with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The one problem we had was all of the people smoking staying next to us. With no air conditioning in the rental unit, all of our windows were left open to enjoy the coastal breeze which meant that our condo smelled like smoke most of the time. The units are in very close proximity to each other so with smokers all around us this was impossible to avoid. I wish that North Coast Village would not allow smoking but I don't see this happening any time soon. Otherwise this was a wonderful property and we will most likely return in the future.

Beautiful!!

Everything advertised was true. What a beautiful location. My wife was scared the waves might come into the house. I don't think you can be any closer to the ocean. Any closer and you are swimming.

Surf N Sand

Stayed April 24 to 29, 2017A truly remarkable location on the beach ... at low tide you have an expansive sand beach and at high tide you are on a rock jetty, you are the ocean. The unit has a nice beachi settings with ample room to move around, to cook, and to relax. The Village complex was very well laid out with a heated pool, a koi pond surrounding the spacious indoor spaces, and well maintained grounds. Within walking distance are extremely good restaurants, the Oceanside Marina, and the O side pier. Only down side was minor maintenance like sliding screen door, shower handles, and some cabinet door closures

Great Week at the Beach!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the North Coast Village beachfront villa at Oceanside. The condo was great; everything we needed was right there and in good order. All of the staff we encountered at North Coast Village were great. The resort and associated accommodations were beautiful and well maintained. And the proximity to the beach and the other waterfront amenities in Oceanside could not have been better. We are already planning our next visit.

Beautiful Place to Stay

Absolutely love it at North Coast Village. Been coming here for eight years straight and don't plan to miss next year either. Mark and Shanna and his father and mother before him were so nice and info was right on. We had no problems at all dealing with them. They do a fine job at On The Sand.com. Try it, you'll never want to leave.

Truly Paradise

I found this condo to be the perfect place to relax and have fun with my grandchildren. It has everything you need for a fun vacation. The ocean view from the balcony is a bonus. And the balcony is set up to serve as an extra room. I stayed 2 months in this condo and a great deal of my time was spent on the balcony. It is awesome. The condo is tastefully appointed in an easy care beach style. I had a slight problem with the toilet. I called and it was fixed that day. I had a slight problem with the patio door. I called and it was replaced promptly. I have already booked for next spring! Thanks, Mark and Shanna!

Awesome!!!

We have been going to North Coast Village for the past 13 years. We always have a fantastic time. The complex is very well kept, and the location of this particular condo is second to none. We love listening to the waves at night, and the view of the ocean and beach from the patio is perfect. We have already booked again for mid summer.

Wonderful Time

This was our first time staying in this particular complex in Oceanside. We were surprised by how well the grounds are kept. As for our condo, the location can't be beat. You walk out your patio door and during high tide the waves right there. It is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. We were glad the condo had boogie boards since it gave our grandson's something to do when they visited. There were a few items that needed to be fixed such as a screen and a door knob but the repair man was in and out before we knew it. Thanks again for a great vacation. We plan to return next.

Wish I lived there

I loved being right on the beach and being able to leave my window open and hear the waves crashing! My husband and I sat out on the porch every night and enjoyed the view. We were pleasantly surprised to see some pods of dolphins a few times during our stay. We'll be back!

Location, location, location!

My sister and I, and our 86 year old mother just spent 5 days in the unit. We loved the lower level garden apartment. We ate many meals on the patio watching the dolphins and the surfers. Beautifully equipped condo. Beautiful grounds. Quiet facility. It was wonderful having everything we needed including the boogie boards and beach towels. These 63 and 65 year old women went boogie boarding. What a blast. We walked the strand every night until 11pm, and felt perfectly safe. Many places to eat are within walking distance. Gas Bbqs are by the beautiful swimming pool, and nice laundry close by. Great communication with the owners. I had no problems with the unit, but renters need to be aware only one parking spot available for your use, and because it is covered, be cautioned the clearance is 6 feet 6 inches. The Dodge pickup barely went under the clearance. Very limited extra parking for visitors. Parking permit is required, and strictly enforced for 24 hour use only. There are steps up from parking garage to the lower level garden unit we had, and 4 steps going down to the unit. I hadn't read description closely, and they were a small problem for our Mom. Wonderful stay. and we are considering staying in the same unit next year.
