Perfect

Our stay was perfect! Just a short walk to the beach. The property had everything we needed and more! We only had a minor inconvenience with the door code to get in at first, but communication with the property manager took care of it real quick.

The pool was cloudy and no chairs to sit or loungers. It should state that you have to cross a major highway with NO cross walk to get to the beach. Dangerous if you have little children. Many steps to get upstairs and the dock with the bay had no railing. Not very kid friendly. Place was nice and the property people were great with the communication.

Clean and comfortable, not too far from beach

Clean, comfortable beds. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, and food storage, which we didn’t expect but appreciated! I liked the simple, elegant style of the furniture and decor. I credit the owners for this! Carolina Retreats was responsive to texts. One issue I feel they should have offered an apology and a bit more reassurance for, rather than merely acknowledging. But overall, good. The only major drawback was that you have to cross the main road to get to the beach access, and there is no crosswalk there or in reasonable walking distance. Most people don’t stop or don’t notice you trying to cross. So crossing with two young kids was not great. There are many houses on the sound side, so I don’t understand the lack of crosswalks.

Great place to stay. Clean house with nice space,and quiet neighborhood. The house was perfect for our group of 8, and there would have been nice space for e few more people.

2023 vacation

My daughter turned 21 on 6/22 and she wanted her first bar trip to the trailer bar, as before she was never able to go. This is our 2nd trip to topsail. The house was perfect location, beautiful, comfortable and plenty of room. Definitely would stay again.

Great property!

This was a fabulous place, exactly as advertised. The kitchen was well equipped, and the beds comfortable. Although it is just a short walk to the beach along a private boardwalk, you do have to cross a busy street to get to the boardwalk, which was challenging for us since our daughter was on crutches. Really appreciated the pet friendliness of the unit.

Nice well kept house

The second time staying. Fully stocked kitchen.We always fight for the couch though, beings it’s an 11 person house with just a 4 person couch.Overall perfect and enjoyable!

Needs a good cleaning

Very nice place. Booked based on information listed. Was missing a sleeper so far when I called the managing meant a company they said too bad. They would not be providing an extra bed of any kind even though it was listed in any pictures

Week at the Sundancer

The place was very nice and spacious. Loved the two decks. The kitchen was well stocked and big enough for all to be in at once! The showers were great and updated and the outside shower was the bomb! Enjoyed our stay. Only thing was the boardwalk to the beach had way too many steps but definitely got a work out! Finally went to the end of the island and drove the car to the water... much easier! Only other thing trash was not picked up when it was supposed to be so trash cans were overflowing. All in all great place!

Good Place- Small adjustments need to be made

Overall, the house was comfortable. However, there are some things we would like to give feedback on: 1. AC - the property manager did not allow the AC to be set below 78° at night. In the summer when it’s 80-95° outside, even at night, this is way too high. Every night our family wanted to spend time together upstairs, but it was too hot for us to be comfortable. This needs to be more adjustable for guests. 2. Inconsistent WiFi - the WiFi cut out multiple times, especially at night. 3. Water Pressure - the water pressure in the showers and bathroom sinks were very low all week. All 3 showers had very very little pressure. 4. Kitchen table- the kitchen tabletop is not screwed to the legs. This is very dangerous considering the tabletop is a giant piece of wood. This should be secured. 5. Living room furniture - one of the stools in the living room has a broken foot, which is also dangerous for guests. 6. Carpet - the carpet on the stairs needs to be deep cleaned. It was slippery and 2 of our guests fell. 7. Balcony - some of the nails on the balcony had to be nailed down since they were sticking up. This is especially dangerous when guests bring dogs. 8. Bathroom sink - bathroom sink on the top floor does not drain 9. Toilet paper holder/towel rack - both of these in the bathroom on the top floor are not secured onto the wall and both fell off. 10. Drawer - the drawer in the second floor bathroom was not securely on the track and fell off onto guests foot.

Great location with access to Surf City Beaches

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The owners have a very gracious pet policy not normally found in vacation rentals. The house is across the street from the beach with access via a boardwalk, two to three minute walk, tops. You do need to cross a road that depending on the season can be busy and there is no crosswalk. We had a few issues that we addressed with management, the first being a few holes in the wall. One at the bottom of steep stairs. We were fine with it, just wanted to document with management. Three other issues related to the overall condition of the house that we were disappointed with. 1.) The fridge's water filter was broken. We started using it and water began leaking everywhere. Had to mop up the kitchen in our first five minutes in the house. Management offered to come out to fix it. They came out to inspect and never resolved the issue. 2.) The 3rd floor shower ceiling was covered in mold. Management seemed surprised by the mold, I found that hard to believe given that the entire ceiling was covered. They offered to come in at some point during the week to replace the ceiling. I wasn't interested in having the house turn into a construction zone with mold remediation during the time that we were paying to be in there. We shut the bathroom door. 3.) The 3rd floor bedroom walls were covered in dust. I wish I could post pictures, but covered to the point that I had to vacuum the walls. Management was again surprised and offered to send someone out, but I expect that stuff to be taken care of prior to my arrival. I'm not a nit-picky person, but when you are paying good money + a cleaning fee and in our case cleaning fee + dog fees x 4 you kind of expect to walk in the house and for it to ready for vacation. The house is a gem, beach access was perfect, and management was responsive when I wrote in. With that said, management needs to step up their game and do what they are paid to do and take care of the property and have it ready prior to arrival.

Great Affordable Beach House!

Great location, price and space for us all, adults and kids. Easy walk to the beach, the pool was a great hit with the kids, location to shops/etc and great living, kitchen space for our group! The stairs were killer going up and down but it was great stay and would definitely book again!

Clean, matched description

Property matched description very well, easy check in/out, clean. We were a little disappointed when we showed up a half hour early and the cleaning people had just finished, they still wouldn’t allow us access to the house until exactly 4. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

First Trip to Area

The home is great if your visiting for the first time to the area. It's a short walk to the beach and 20 min walk to board walk and business district. The sound is can be accessed from a dock that is part of the neighborhood. The neighborhood pool is even closer to the house. Great place to stay to lounge at the ocean, swim in the pool, see the sunrise, and sunset all in the same day.
