Pet Friendly CAPE SHORES home! 423 Cape Shores

This home, located in the ever popular Cape Shores community is really close to the beach! With an inverted floor plan, the upper living area and wrap-around deck take advantage of some water views. The main entry level features three bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has a Sleep Number Queen bed and a full bathroom. The other two bedrooms (one with a Sleep Number Queen bed and the other with a set of twins) share a hall bathroom. This floor also has a family room with a flat screened TV which is perfect for catching a movie. The upper floor has a master bedroom with Sleep Number King bed and a full bathroom. This level also has the great room with living, dining and kitchen all in one. Perfect for a dinner gathering or playing a board game. You will also find a half bath on this floor. Cape Shores has a community pool, tennis courts and a fishing pier for guest use. Take a bike ride into the Cape Henlopen State Park or into downtown Lewes.

All guests must supply their own sheets, towels and beach towels or OPT in for our linen rental package.

Guests must choose to purchase a $70 Vacation Rental Damage Insurance policy covering $3,000.00 in accidental damage, or pay a refundable security deposit of $2,000.00. Policies of a lesser amount are not acceptable. This amount will not be reflected in the quote amount on VRBO.

The property must be occupied by the Guest signing the Lodging Agreement, and all occupants of the Property shall be supervised by the Guest for the entire rental period. The Guest signing the Lodging Agreement must be at least 25 years of age and must occupy the Property for the entire rental period. If the party is made up of unrelated individuals (a group rental), ALL guests occupying the property must be at least 25 years of age.

We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover Credit Cards and eChecks for your initial deposit. We also accept personal checks for final payments. Final payments are due 30 days prior to your check-in date. NOTE: Any payments within 30 days of arrival require to be in certified funds or by credit card. You will be provided a link to a Guest Portal where you can securely make your payments online.

VRBO BOOKINGS: This property is hosted by the management company noted as Owner on VRBO. After booking the property you will be charged a booking fee by VRBO. ALL other fees and the rental amount will be charged by the management company and paid to the management company. Once you have booked you will be contacted by the management company and sent a Lodging Agreement that must be signed. Apart from Damage Protection, all fees associated with the booking are displayed in the VRBO booking.

Convenient to beaches and State Parks

Loved the pier and osprey, herons, pelicans and birds. Interesting horseshoe crabs. So close to everything and clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the porches too!

Great location & lovely house!

The Cape Shores location is fantastic - a 5 min walk or less to the beach and same to the neighborhood pool, immediately next to Cape Henlopen State Park (with beaches, trails, etc.), and easy access back to Lewes or over to Rehoboth. The house was nice and comfortable for us (4 adults 4 kids). The multiple decks (including one screened in with a table that easily seated 8) were great. We would happily book again!

Fantastic location!

We were two families of four and the house was a great size and layout for us. There were some minor issues- screen door sticks, kitchen faucet finicky- but overall the house was perfect for us. Loved the rooftop deck for fabulous views. But the best point is the location. The beach is a short walk across the street and Cape Henlopen State Park is a short bike ride or walk in the other direction. We had a wonderful time exploring the park and beach- both in off season. This house & location were ideal!

Great location!

Overall a fantastic stay! Location is legit 90 seconds door to door to the sand. Huge deck space that wraps around home. Only thing preventing a 5 star rating was a few minor details with the home need improvement/cleaned up. I think you notice it more when you walk around the neighborhood and compare it to all the surrounding beautiful homes.

Nice house but needs work

Very nice location and nice house but had many flaws that need fixing that we reported to the realtor.Washing machine did not work right,one deck off limits, and several other annoying ,when on vacation quirks. Given what we paid and the VRBO fee not as happy as would have like to have been.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My daughter, her small 10 lb dog, and I decided to spend our Christmas at the beach. We selected this home for its location to the beach and State park and also because it welcomed our dog. On these points we were very satisfied. The actual house was a disappointment. We found the kitchen in need of a deep cleaning. There were dishes that had been put away dirty and the pots and pans were in the same condition. We believe we misplaced the house key and in our search to find it we removed the sofa cushions only to discover molded food. We were told we could use the fireplace during our stay but there were no instructions. On this point we were not sure if it was a wood burner as we could not find a damper. Needless to say we skipped that feature. The TVs on the 3rd floor (main living area) were not working. The hall bathtub on the second floor would not drain. The furniture was soiled. In summary this home gets an A+ for location. Itā€™s in desperate need of a deep cleaning and overall rehab; painting, furniture etc. We rented for a week and left 4 days early.

The property is beautiful and was well stocked. Also, the location is outstanding. We just weren't impressed with the comfort of the beds.

pleasant, comfortable, and SUPER location

The best thing about this home is its location right across the road from Henlopen State Park. The park is a gem and the biking is terrific, beaches wonderful. This house is part of a well tended community of similar homes, and has all basics, including very comfortable firm king sized bed. The kitchen, master and living room are on the 3rd floor so you have to bring goods up and down. My only complaint about the home is that the kitchen is not well stocked in terms of good knives, large pan/wok for cooking, a way to steam veggies. Overall: If with family of size, I'd come again.

Comfortable beach house

We enjoyed staying here with our family. Very big, clean (other reviews made negative comments; it was in fact very clean!), with all amenities you need to enjoy your beach vacation. Our dog loved playing on the beach which is just across the street. Henlopen Park is a lovely beach stroll away too. Neighborhood quiet (though at this moment there is quite a bit of construction).
