Palmetto Dunes, located on the 18th Tee, 5 Minute Walk to Beach, 1 1/2 to Pool

This lovely, fully-furnished 2-story villa is a 5-minute walk from the beach. The Hickory Cove swimming pool is just a 2-minute walk from the villa. Situated on the 18th tee on the Robert Trent Jones golf course, you will have a beautiful view off the back deck. You are just a short distance to the clubhouse and tennis center.

There are balconies with 3 of the bedrooms, and a large deck off the living room with a gas grill, patio table and chairs, and a great view of the 18th fairway. Wi-fi is included and there are several TVs.

The living room area offers ample seating with a large sofa and love seat and a great view of the golf course. The living room is equipped with a TV, and it also includes a bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower.

The dining area is adjacent to the living room and has an excellent view of the TV or golfers teeing off. The kitchen is adjacent to the dining area and has all of the expected amenities. The laundry room is also located next to the dining area.

Our villa has a few bicycles, beach chairs, beach and pool accessories and games.

The Master Bedroom is located on the 1st floor and has a King-sized bed and a private bath. This room has a large sliding glass door leading to the outside deck and offers a wonderful view of the golf course.

There are two and one half bedrooms upstairs. Each of the two "proper" upstairs bedrooms has a pair of queen-sized beds, a private bathroom, a private balcony deck, and ample closet space. The third remaining "half" bedroom is a smaller room with a bunk bed, featuring a full-sized bottom mattress and a twin-sized top mattress. This room is suited primarily for children. There is enough room for 12 people to sleep in beds (no sleeper sofas).

Tl;dr: This really was a great turnkey place. In all, would easily stay here again without any concern. We were a group of 10 people celebrating a 50th anniversary for my parents. There was more than enough room for four kids and six adults. Robert undersold this place!!! We were worried about renting bikes, beach chairs, etc--nope, they're all available with this house. There was a stocked kitchen and grill available, though we mostly ate at Shelter Cove with the kids which is basically a 3 min drive.Robert was amazing to work with and communication was quick. It's clear when you're staying at someone's home than just a property manager, and Robert was just that.This place would be great for family trips because the beach (5 min), the tennis/pickleball courts (10 min), and pool (3 min) were all within walking distance. The parking area was essentially a dead end, so we felt really safe letting a couple of toddlers noodle around on scooters without any issues.This place would be really good for a buddy golf trip also, and I could easily see myself doing that as well. Some great golf right on Palmetto Dunes, and we would watch a few people tee off from the deck.

Property in very quiet golf/tennis community on Hilton Head Island, close walking distance to quiet stretch of beach and community swimming pool. Condo could use some upgrading, but everything was in working order (A/C, kitchen dishwasher, washer/dryer). Owner very helpful and responsive to inquiries. We stayed with our 3 adult kids and 85 year old grandma. We let her stay in ground floor master so she did not have to use stairs. She could access walk in shower in ground floor powder room. You also are in close vicinity to wonderful shops and restaurants. We enjoyed Nectar and The Bank Beer Garden, which is great for families with young kids.
Deer often come to visit the golf course off the back deck in early morning/dusk.

Great, but...

The check in process is a real pain in the neck, especially if you get there later on in the evening. We were a group of 4 with 2 arriving earlier in the day and 2 arriving later at night. The gated community made us purchase 2 entry passes even though we only had one vehicle. Our first 2 guests were dropped off at the property. It was ridiculous. Unit is in good shape but definitely outdated and in need of an update. "4th" bedroom is not really good for anyone except very small children that don't know any better.

Summer vacation

We have stayed at Palmetto Dunes before and love this development. We had a wonderful week and the owner provided everything and more that we required for the stay. We would certainly rent this property again when we return. Very close proximity to the beach, golf and tennis. Even the next door neighbor to our condo was a very nice and helpful man. .

Great owner

Communication was excellent! Due to weather we needed to leave a few days after we arrived. He was very reasonable in giving us a fair refund. The unit was dated and could use a coat of paint and a deep clean. Despite the state of the condo I would rent again due to the integrity of the owner.

Excellent Vacation

This was our first visit to Hilton Head and this property helped to make it one of our best beach vacations. As other have indicated, the property is a little outdated but all of our needs were met. We really like how close we were to the beach and pool and enjoyed watching the golfers tee off on the 18th hole. Would definitely stay here again

Everything as advertised. Robert is a great host, checking in to make sure we had no problems. I mentioned a slow drain in one of the bathrooms and he had a plumber there the next day. Easy walk to the beach and fantastic supply of beach equipment, beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, toys etc.

Owner was very prompt with answering our problems. Place is a little dated. Beds were clean. House was pretty clean. Needs a spring cleaning that a cleaning service doesn’t do.

Vaca at Palmetto Dunes

We enjoyed our stay at Palmetto Dunes so much. Being close to the beach and the pool was great. Hilton Head is a lovely place with great restaurants, shops, and plenty of activities to enjoy in a beautiful setting.

Great spot for a big group!

The property had just enough space for our group of 11 to call home for a week. The kitchen could get cramped quickly but was more than adequate! A couple bits of the property could benefit from small maintenance and/or update, but overall no complaints and an easy recommendation for a large group!

Great property, great location!

We loved, loved, loved this place! We were minutes from the beach and lots of nice shops and restaurants. With four bedrooms and four bathrooms it was perfect for our girls weekend. Would also be ideal for families. We’ll be back!!

More now and needs some TLC

Overall this please means some attention. From replacing many burned out lightbulbs and a dryer that doesn’t work, to an upstairs bathtub that drips and leaks and is almost broken off, and other things in between, we found out with some TLC, this could be a more appealing place. Additionally, the Cleaning service could do a more thorough job of making sure the dishes in the cabinets are put away, clean and checking all drawers for any cupcake wrappers that we found in the bedroom. Great proximity to the beach.

Love Hilton Head!

With everyone checking in at same time our property was not ready until 5:00 pm. The only other complaint was the rudeness of other guests who allowed their huge dog in the pool with about 12 other guests. Our property was as advertised and the location was great! Enjoyed our week.

We believe Hilton Head has the nicest beaches in South Carolina, with beautiful scenery all over the island, great restaurants, and plenty of activities to choose from. It is a great family atmosphere.

Our favorite thing about this villa is sitting on the back deck in the early evening, while cooking dinner on the grill and enjoying the scenery. The villa is a very short walk to the beach and pool.

With three and one half bedrooms and four full bathrooms, we can comfortably sleep 12 people in beds (no sleeper sofas).
