Built in 1959, Desert Stars is a stunning example of Palm Springs’ iconic Mid-Century Modern architecture. Recently renovated to enhance its original charm, this home features the classic butterfly roofline—an enduring symbol of the optimism and innovation of late 1950s and early 1960s American design.

Offering a sophisticated alternative to the traditional hotel stay, Desert Stars provides the privacy and comfort of a home with many of the amenities travelers seek. The bright, open floor plan boasts an abundance of natural light through large windows and glass doors, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living—true to the Palm Springs lifestyle.
Situated on an oversized lot, the expansive backyard is a desert oasis. The newly renovated saltwater pool is perfect for lap swimming or lounging in the sun. Just steps away, an in-ground spa invites relaxation while you take in the breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountains. As night falls, gather around the gas-powered in-ground fire pit and soak in the desert stars under a cozy sky.

Whether you're here to relax, entertain, or explore, Desert Stars offers the perfect Palm Springs experience—mid-century charm with modern comfort.

Minimum length of stay and special rates may apply during certain seasonal events.

There is an optional pool heating available for a fee, (when needed). Depending upon length of stay, utility charges may apply.

Upon acceptance of the reservation you will be required to sign a Rental Agreement directly with the management company – 365 Vacation Rentals

The Palm Springs Vacation Rental Ordinance requires the following:

All persons must be at least 25 years of age or accompanied by parent or legal guardian.
The maximum number of guests shall not exceed posted limits. This includes ALL children AND infants.
Outdoor music of any kind or excessive noise is not permitted at any time.
No more than 1 car per bedroom is allowed per home. 3 car maximum.

Failure to do so will result in fines being issued directly to the occupant of the home and you will forfeit your security deposit. Please refer to your rental agreement or ask for greater detail.

Please note this home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, this home is not a party house.

Great family or small group spot!

Wonderful stylish, clean, and comfortable property with a great back patio and pool area. Plenty of room to spread out and relax in the sun. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Summer extended

Very relaxing time. Loved the saltwater pool and fire pit. A better coffee pot would be nice. Very busy road that can be noisy. Nice area for walking.

We enjoyed this house and Palm Springs

We stayed in February and March of 2022. Jerry, the management representative, was quick to respond to our requests. When we arrived we found everything in good order. The house was clean and well-supplied. The cookware in the kitchen was plentiful and new or near new. The Roke TV worked well, although the living room TV is a bit small by today's standards. The back yard is lovely. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub on a number of occasions, and just reclining in the sun was great. The grill worked well. The only drawback to this house is that it is located on a busy street and the bedrooms are on the street side of the house. We did get used to the traffic noise, but it might be an issue for some. We enjoyed our stay. The house is very near to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, and this is an experience we highly recommend. At night, from the backyard, we could watch the dots of light that are the trams going up and down the mountain. Wonderful views.

Great Stay!

The rental was clean, well stocked, and beautiful. The outdoor view of the mountains were great to look at while lounging by the pool. And sitting by the fire at night kept us nice and warm. Loved everything!

Kitchen thoughtfully stocked with necessities. Pool perfect for 3 adult women & 2 teenage girls. Fire pit & hottub also a thumbs up. Short drive into town Comfy beds with good linens/towels. Would definitely stay again!!

Perfect Palm Springs Property

This house is exactly what you think of when you think ‘Palm Springs getaway’. It is beautifully and stylishly decorated. The pool and back yard are amazing. Beautiful landscaping, great cabana area. BBQ is great. The master bath has a door that leads directly to the yard. Pool is large enough to lap swim and perfect for floating. Perhaps the best part of this rental is how well appointed the kitchen is. Over the years I’ve learned to bring my blender, favorote Knife, etc. I didn’t even need to use these here. They even had a vegetable peeler and juicer. I tried to book this property again while we were there but it was all full. It is on a big and fast street. I live in Los Angeles, and it is typical of a residential thru street, but does have 4 lanes. We really didn’t hear the cars from the backyard or bedrooms.

perfect summer vacation

The property was lovely and our children wanted to jump into the pool immediately. It was the perfect summer vacation for our family and the house had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Winter Escape Delight!

Nick's Palm Springs property offered us a terrific home base for enjoying the outdoors, which is always our goal for a winter escape. The house functions well for daily life as well as entertaining. The star of the show is the backyard. Spectacular! We loved the Mountain View’s from the patio table, the fire pit, or the pool/hot tub. There are options for sun or shade, and you can watch the tram going up & down the mountain at night under the stars.

Wonderful home in a great location.!

House is well appointed, gorgeous private backyard, pool and hot tub. We especially loved the fire pit and grill for dinners outside. We were only (4) people during our stay - anymore may be tight. Also, since we were here during Feb, we did not need air conditioning or heat so the noise from the busy street was very noticeable while sleeping.

Great back yard

The house was what we were looking for - a good back yard for kids to play in and adults to lounge in. This house has that covered. A big disappointment was the busy street it’s located on. I asked the property owner/manager about this and they said they’ve never had a complaint about it and you don’t even notice it from inside the house. False. The vehicles buzzing by at all hours of the day are very loud and noticeable. We had to be careful that our kids didn’t venture out the front door onto such a super busy, fast street.

Stars for Desert Stars

What a wonderful way to enjoy Palm Springs, having our own pool and hot tub. The open floor plan was great for happy hours and meals. Backyard was a beautiful oasis. The house was conveniently located to Palm Springs.

Beautiful home in Palm Springs!

We loved our week getaway! The check in process was a breeze and the home as beautiful as described. The pool was large and ample space in the back yard for entertaining. This home is located close to downtown next to restaurants bars and shopping. We had a fabulous time!

Extremely clean

Beautiful property in a great location!

Everything was great, the house comfortably sleeps 6, one of the bedrooms only has a full bed so be aware of that. Super clean, well decorated and appointed. The back yard is perfect, love the built in fire pit at night. Would definitely return!

Great Propety

We stayed there for a week in October 2018 and the house is exactly as described. The hosts met us at check in and made it very simple. The house and yard were very clean and well stocked. Great location and super close to everything.

Loved our stay at Desert Stars. The property was clean and well-kept. All appliances and fixtures were functional. The pool was perfect (pay for the heating — so worth it). Everyone was super-helpful and responded quickly to all inquiries during booking. They even catered to my special request to keep the pool heated late into the night. They made it easy, and I didn’t have to call them at all for anything during my stay. A couple kind suggestions for improvement are: updated bed linens and more lighting in the bedrooms — but that’s being super nit-picky. I truly thought it was fantastic for the price compared to other rentals I’ve been in. I would definitely stay here again.

Exactly as advertised!

We stayed for four nights earlier this month and absolutely loved the home! The yard and patio areas are to die for, and the kitchen and living spaces make it easy to cook at home or entertain. The master bedroom was very comfortable and we slept great every night. This home is very well-stocked with everything you could ever need, including utensils, condiments, extra towels and blankets, and a closet full of DVD's and various board games. Nick and his team were very responsive and friendly and I felt sure that if we encountered an issue, they would be there in an instant. We come to Palm Springs every spring and would happily stay here again without hesitation!

Noisy road

The back yard was as the pictures very nice however the bedding and pillows were basically worn out the only other issue with the property is that it is on a very busy and noisy street with a firewall at the end of the block.

One of my favorite houses in the desert

I LOVED Desert Stars. A small mid-century house with an enormous back yard with a saltwater pool, a Jacuzzi, fireplace, a BBQ and many lounge chair areas. We spent most of the time in the pool and swam. The inside of the house had concrete floors and was well decorated. Everything worked perfectly and it was central to town. I would stay here again!

Excellent place to stay!

This house was very comfortable, very clean. The backyard was so much fun and perfect for day time and nighttime activities. I would recommend it! The one thing we couldn't figure out was the volume on the TV's in the bedrooms. It was either very quiet or very loud, and it kept adjusting on it's own, it was hilarious. Either way, this house was a great place to stay and I would love to stay here again, if ever in Palm Springs for another trip.

Great place

We stayed here for a couple of days around Christmas. This was a clean and spacious home for our party of 3 adults and one child. Since it was colder we decided to pay extra for heating the pool, which made a big difference for us to be able to swim. I would stay here again if we will visit Palm Springs again.
