Located in a private community that includes two shared pools, tennis courts, and a playground, there is always something to do. Located steps away from the white sands that house bountiful crabbing and fishing, or host a picnic and soak up the sun on the beach. Use your private gas grill to cook up a meal and enjoy it on the balcony that provides beautiful ocean views.

While you may find yourself spending much of your time here on the adjacent stretch of sugar-white sand beach, this rental is also within walking distance of the Maritime Forest Nature Trail and the expansive T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. This park is the place to be for hiking, cycling, wildlife viewing, swimming, fishing, shelling, or just kicking back and watching the spectacular sunsets. And for unique shops and superb restaurants, be sure to visit the city of Port St. Joe, located just 17 miles from your townhouse.

Great location and affordable

The amenities were not as extensive as some other places we have stayed (no beach equipment, outside shower was not private), but these were minor details. Easy short walk to the beach, beds were comfortable, and furnishings were adequate for our needs.

Great vacation stay

The home and location are great. Easy walk to beach. Well stocked kitchen, clean and spacious rooms, comfortable beds, all appliances in good working order. Happy to recommend this home to everyone and hope to return soon!

Great spot for a getaway

We loved being steps from the beach in a comfortable, well-equipped townhome. Lots of walking on the beach and we even had a nice fire on the beach our last night. We also took advantage of hiking in the nearby state park and got fresh fish and shrimp from the market down the road. Overall, it was a wonderful break!

Nice and roomy

Loved how stocked the kitchen was with dishes, Tupperware and kitchen tools. The balconies off of every room were wonderful. We were very nervous with an 18 month old there because of the stairs (there are two pretty high staircases inside and one outside) but due to my poor planning we didn’t bring gates. I was happy to find one stashed in the utility closet which helped save the day. I would recommend to the owners to have a gate installed on the bottom deck outside for pets/kids and also having a couple of sturdy gates stashed for inside. Or, if you’re planning on staying here be sure to be more mindful than I was when packing! The one there was great but was a little flimsy. Still so grateful for it! Overall it was a great place to stay and I highly recommend it! We would book here again for sure, very comfortable. Thank you for having us!

Great location

The location of this property was very close to the beach. it’s a nice condo community. Inside of the community you will find dog potty bags, a pool and tennis court. We were there a very short time were not able to enjoy the amenities, but it was nice to know they were there. Spacious and pretty much everything you need. I do, however, think that the furniture & bedding could use a little updating! if you’re looking for a place to get away for a short time or even a long time with your dogs, I do recommend this property.

Clean n easy walk to beach at this dog haven. Unfortunately furniture is old and very worn. Back deck is risky and very unstable especially at top of stairs. This needs attention.

Great Vacation Rental Property

The townhouse was very close to the boardwalk out to the beach. Made it convienent to go back and forth to the beach during the day. The townhouse was very clean. The kitchen was large made it easy to cook meals. We used the grille on the deck to cook several meals during our stay. The living area was spacious and we enjoyed the large dinning table. The washer and dryer were regular size and easy to use. The bedrooms were clean and plenty of room. We enjoyed the parking location under the townhouse. Overall, we were very pleased with the location and space and useability of the townhouse.

Excellent place

VRBO had double-booked us at another property, so we found this at the last minute. We were wary, but happily surprised to find that it was not only close to the beach, but also there was absolutely NO MUSTY ODOR, like many other Barrier Reef properties. It was clean and tidy, and while we needed more towels and it would’ve been nice to have luggage racks, the place exceeded expectations. The bedrooms need new mattresses, and the other furniture needs updating, but the newly updated kitchen and master bath are spectacular. We want to stay here again! Oh, and there was a problem with the hot water heater when we first arrived, but it was fixed within 24 hours. Excellent service.

Very nice beach. Not as crowded as some others along the gulf. House was average. But close to the beach. Complained to management about shower nut draining and it took them three days to respond - by then we had gone and bought draino and fixed it ourselves. Saw multiple hairs on the bedding and washed it before sleeping. Saw cockroach in the entryway.

Great location - terrible apartment

Property manager was unresponsive to issues related to cold weather. Neighboring apartments sent staff out to respond within 24 hours. No so with this apartment. We were without water for over 48 hours and no one arrived until after it came back on. Also small issues like cabinet doors missing and outlets that didn’t work. Loved Gulf Co with the dog, but not this apartment.

Great location Run Down Propery

We enjoyed our stay mainly because of the close location to the beach. The beach and ocean were amazing! The condo is very run down and dirty inside and out. The kitchen counter has 2 large cracks in it. All of the utensils, plates and cookware were very well used... the plates have chips in them, the nonstick pans are no longer non stick, the glasses were so dirty they needed to be washed before we used them. The outside furniture as well as the wooden decks were not clean or in great shapr. On Saturday evening about 5:30, I tried to use the outside grill to cook steaks for dinner. The metal cook racks inside the grill were badly rusted. When I tried to light it, it would not turn on. I called the management company and the lady was very nice. She said that someone would be out within the hour to service it. I explained that I was trying to cook dinner. She said they would expidite the call. An hour later, a man called and said his guy Kyle was on his way. About 8:30 Kyle showed up and determined the grill was out of gas. Then Kyle left to go get a propane tank. Needless to say, we ate about 9:45pm and our last night at the condo was wasted. I did Not have happy kids that night. Overall, as stated, if you are just looking for a close to the beach condo to rent, this one is fine, it just needs some TLC.

Vacasa - Review only

We are posting this review after trying to reach out directly to the owner at Barrier Dunes. We have not heard back from either VRBO or the owners. The issues we have are with the Host, which is Vacasa of Florida. If you remember, there was a hurricane, Idalia which impacted the western coast of Florida and required a Mandatory Evacuation of Cape San Blas on Tuesday noon, August 29, which was rescinded on Wednesday at noon August 30. My family had to leave Florida and drive back to Atlanta hoping to salvage some time at the unit. We had leased the unit from 8-25 to 9-5 which was 11 nights during the off season. Vacasa NEVER called us or communicated with us in ANYWAY alerting us of the Hurricane or the Evacuation Order. We wondered how many Vacasa renters could they have possible had the week prior to Labor Day. We were advised by other tenants at the complex, Barrier Dune, of the pending and then actual Order. We called Vacasa over 10 times and not once did we talk to anyone that had knowledge of the pending hurricane or Evacuation Order on Tuesday August 29. We talked to reps in Belize 5 times, Oregon 2 times, El Salvador 2 times and Valdosta 1, but NEVER from the local St. Joe Staff. We were told after every frustrating call that someone would call us back within the hour. NO ONE from Vacasa EVER called us. To the owner of this unit, we loved the unit as it is the best unit, we have stayed in from our 5 prior stays at Barrier Dunes. Never again!

It was amazing. The beach was clean and everyone around us were friendly. The people in cape San blas and port st joe were so friendly. Can’t wait to go back. It will be our beach destination from now on. Our accommodations were very nice and clean. Great location

Nice master bathroom and kitchen

The kitchen and master bathroom were very nice, also loved the washer and dryer, which looked almost new. Air conditioner worked very well. Owners might want to consider providing some instructions for the stove, washer, and dryer. We were able to figure it out, but it was a little confusing. We also could have used more bath towels, washcloths, and some bath mats- there were five of us there for a week, and were only provided four bath towels, two hand towels, two washcloths, and no bath mats. The washer and dryer got us through, but being at the beach means multiple showers every day! Overall a nice stay and very close to the beach.

I very much enjoyed my trip. I used it as a quite BD get away from the speed for work, life, and parenting. It was a birthday present from my husband and was exactly what the doctor ordered. My only complaint would be the bed in the master bedroom could really use an upgrade.
