'Sugar Cloud' - Updated Home Minutes to Banner Elk

This lovely three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom, log cabin is so cozy you won't want to leave. The two King-sized beds and two Twin beds will accommodate six guests. This cabin features an equipped gourmet kitchen with all stainless steel appliances, including an espresso machine. It has central heating and air-conditioning, along with ceiling fans throughout the unit, and a stone gas fireplace in the living area. There is a nicely sized laundry room with a washer and dryer for you to use. The master bedroom includes a King-sized bed. One guest room includes a King-sized bed, and the other guest room includes two Twin beds. The master bedroom and bathroom are located on the main floor and offer handicapped shower rails and easy access. Enjoy the delightful mountain weather on the large decks or relax on the screened-in porch. Four TVs and private Wi-Fi are available for you to enjoy. Non-smoking. No pets allowed. THE GARAGE AND ABOVE GARAGE APARTMENT ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RENTAL AND ARE NOT FOR USE BY ANYONE BUT THE OWNERS. No Check-in's Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. All guests are required to sign their rental agreement within 7 days of booking.

Cloud Spring

Overall this could be a nice property. It is in a great location. It was above averagely clean indoors. A few things could be improved. The internet was down for our entire stay. The yard had been excavated and was still unsightly. This may be the reason for the interruption of internet since the excavation was near the utilities. Also the outdoor decks had not been cleaned in months. They still had layers of pollen on them. The back porch needed a good pressure wash and the screen on the door was ripped. It would have been a nice place to sit and relax if it had been cleaned. Would we stay again? Maybe if we could see evidence that these details were attended to.

Lovely mountain getaway

Overall this house was perfect for our weekend stay. It was very clean and the check in and check out process was farely easy. The reasons I didn't give this a 5 start is because the beds upstairs were horribly uncomfortable and all the pillows were flat. They also don't give you a sponge or dish soap to wash dishes. Other than that it was great.

December stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home had a few issues. The front door would very hard to lock from the inside. One night we had to lock from outside and have the person come in back door to make sure the door was locked for the evening. In the owner suite, water and debris kept coming into sink and the toilet hardly flushed. The secondary televisions were extremely small. A decent size smart tv would be nice where you can utilize Netflix on the other televisions.

Perfect Spot for a Ski/Snowboard Weekend

We loved the property! It was clean and the location is perfect. The drive up the mountain is surprisingly quick, and it’s an easy drive down to park at sugar mountain, or just take the shuttle.

Great location if you are not wanting to be right on the side of a mountain or cliff like, this is the right rental. It was in a perfect spot and location for getting to everything local. The removal of trash was the only confusing thing. It was not clear in the material given upon check in where to put the trash after you emptied it from the house. most people have cars and putting trash in their car is not desired. Should update the brochures on where /what to do with the trash and make a bin available.

One small detail changed my 5 star rating to a 4

Beautiful, clean, and great location. Everything about this cabin and its location was awesome. Albeit the cabin wasn't on the slopes, however, the location was near the top of the mountain and it was only a 10 minute trip to Sugar Mountain ski resort. I would have given this location a 5 star rating but to my dismay, we discovered the proudly displayed coffee maker did not work. Hot coffee on cold mornings is critical for my mental well-being so without that, I gave this residence 4 stars.

Sugar mountain cabin

Very comfortable home perfect distance to and from the lodge. Broken coffee pot was the only set back throughout the stay. Great views of wildlife in the backyard

Just good, not excellent

A few small, inexpensive changes/additions, this would be an excellent 5 star rental. We took our entire immediate family, 6 people, and was in the cabin for 4 days. This cabin was adequate. It was super clean, the WIFI was good, it is in a great location and all appliances worked. I think it could have been more accommodating. When we go on vacation we appreciate a rental home that offers comforts similar to our own home. There was only 1 towel per person, I use a clean towel every time I shower, so we had to purchase laundry detergent and wash towels every day. There was only 1 pillow per person, we had to purchase pillows. Limited blankets,, we also had to purchase blankets. A TV that allowed for streaming would have been great. A Keurig coffee maker is much more sanitary than the old style drip machine provided. All of these items could be supplied for around $100-$150 and then this would be an excellent comfortable place to stay. If the owner reads this, call me if you want help selecting low cost items to complete your awesome cabin. 😁 This is truly just me trying to be helpful. The advice is free, do with it what you will.

November 26th - 28th Stay

Our family went up to the NC Mountains to select Christmas Tree as we do every year. This house worked out great for our family. It is a well built, nice house. The location was great and in a nice quite, walkable community. The house was also very clean with a well stocked kitchen for us to cook meals for our family. There were only a few items that could use improvement. One was the limited Living Room seating, we could have used another loveseat or sofa. Also, the lamp switch in the upstairs twin bedroom was broken and a few extra blankets, throws and pillows would have been nice. Overall a very nice rental and we would stay there again.

Disappointed

Beautiful cabin, premier host, equipped gourmet kitchen, large decks, relax on screened porch, 4tvs. Porch without chairs is unusable. Screen room without cushions is unusable. Large deck without chairs unusable. 4 TVs is really 2 TVs and 2 unusable monitors. Gourmet kitchen with only 3 wine glasses?? House had fabulous potential but would not rent again with these shortcomings. Property management was wonderful and addressed other issues.

Nice cabin on Sugar Mtn

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice cabin. Some good features, like a gas fireplace. Provided a lot of heat upstairs. Bathrooms are good size. Could use a few more “comfy” blankets. It was loud as you could hear through the floor snoring. Very little outdoor furniture. We would stay there again. The rental office would not allow an hour extra to check out on daylight savings Sunday. Kinda not good pr.
