Park Place: On The Commons Park in Cape Fear Station, Walk to East Beach

Uniquely situated for an active vacation on this exclusive North Carolina barrier island, ā€œPark Placeā€ lies steps from The Commons Park, a 3-minute walk down a private alleyway to fabulous East Beach, and a 5-minute walk from a swim, or dinner, at the elegant Shoals Club.


The house, ideal for a two-family vacation, is decorated in a timeless coastal style with comfortable bedding and furniture. The reverse floor plan features a 2nd floor screened-in porch to take advantage of the sights of the adjacent park, and the sounds of the nearby ocean.


The open 2nd floor also includes a great room, dining room, fully-equipped kitchen, Ā½ bath and a bunk room (two twin-over-full bunk beds). Downstairs, there is a master bedroom (king) and two additional bedrooms (queen), all with en suite bathrooms and Smart TVs.


A separate crofter features a bedroom (queen), mini-kitchen, pull-out sofa, Smart TV, and full bath, all situated above a cart garage, which houses (2) 6-seat golf carts (Club Car and 2023 Bintelli, both on maintenance contracts, to ensure reliable and care-free transportation around the island), as well as bicycles, beach chairs and beach toys. Between the house and crofter is a patio with a table as well as charcoal and gas grills.


Additional amenities include membership (available for separate purchase) at the Bald Head Island Club (including golf) and Shoals Club, outdoor shower, hammock, high chair, porta crib, front porch rocking chairs, linens, and a local property manager who can take of any concerns or issues promptly.


This property rents Saturday-Saturday during June, July and August.


If the island is closed to short-term rentals due to a hurricane we will refund in full.

Excellent home near the beach! Kitchen has what you need and more. The home is clean and beds are comfortable. Bikes are in good shape, golf carts are fast, lots of beach toys and chairs. The property fit our families well! The location was great ā€” across the street from the park and a short drive/walk to the beach. Wonderful Family Vacation

This was a wonderful house to stay in for a week at BHI. The home looks exactly as it shows on VRBO. The kitchen was well stocked for all of our family meals. We had 9 people staying and had plenty of room for everyone! Sharon the owner was very helpful and always answered my questions quickly.

Family annual stay at Bald Head

The house was great. Location was good and golf carts and bikes too. We enjoyed our annual trip to Bald Head. There were just a few things that we would mention. The floors were not cleaned well by the cleaners. My daughter in law swept the floors and also ran the vacuum Also the back door on the side going to the backyard door handle fell off the first day and after. There was no dustpan either. Would have been helpful. We just like to make mention so that the owners can address it. Overall it was a great week. Thank you for sharing your home.

Amazing stay with the family at Park Place!

Just returned from a great week with the family at BHI - Park Place (31st visit to BHI). The ferry to the island was a little challenging due to Covid limitations but once we settled into the house all the stress disappeared. The house was very clean and well appointed (including a coffee grinder). Location was perfect for East beach and Shoals club access. Great week with the family . Looking forward to future visits.

Classic Bald Head House

Just as the title states. Very nice place with the classic bald head feel, nestled in a bunch of palms and natural brush. Front porch is perfect for watching kids play in the green space across the street. Plenty of room and comfortable. 2 6-seat golf carts that are in good condition. Lots of chairs and beach toys for kids and the beach is a 1 minute ride away.

For years we've been coming to Bald Head with our extended family. We had trouble finding a house that was close to the beach and could comfortably accommodate 2-3 families. After renting on the island for many years we purchased this home and had it furnished and decorated to be exactly what we were looking for.

Easy walk to East Beach (best on the island), The Shoals Club and Turtle Conservancy while facing The Commons Park. Screened in porch overlooks the park and is great for morning coffee, cocktails and even watching TV. The 5th bedroom in the crofter over the garage is perfect for grandparents, nanny or those looking for more privacy. Our kitchen is well stocked and the property is meticulously maintained.
