Experience the wonder of Southern Colorado with this lovely cabin located on the banks of the Rio Grande River. This home has an open-concept layout, a warming wood stove, and a large, furnished deck with a gas grill - perfect for spending time with your group, no matter the season. The six-person hot tub and outdoor fire pit make this home ideal for an outdoor-centered getaway.

Nestled on the eastern edge of the Rio Grande National Forest, South Fork is a peaceful community at the juncture of the South Fork and Rio Grande Rivers. Explore beautiful South Fork on foot and hit the trails which offer easy and challenging hikes ranging from a half-mile to five miles in length. Wind your way through the forest into the wilderness or set out on horseback to take in the stunning mountain scenery. And when the snow is falling, the Wolf Creek Ski Area is just 7.5 miles south of this rental, making it one of the closest lodging spots to the slopes.

Our stay was great - even with being under a flood watch due to the surprising rainy week that the area had. Customer service was responsive about our flood watch related questions and the rental was mostly clean. The one star reduction is that our little dog found some dog treats and a dog bone that were under the couch. She would give 5 stars for that, though we were surprised. Overall it was a great stay! Would recommend Ramon’s for dinner in South Fork. We’d love to stay here again!

Check in wasn’t to bad the key pad would not work had to call the property management company to get access to the lockbox. The kitchen was great everything inside the house was as it should be clean really nice place. Only complaint is the hot tub was dirty notified management company and they never responded.

Family Fun

It was in a central location to fishing and outdoor fun. It was great location to get supplies. The grandkids loved the internet access. The hottub was a nice added feature. Loved it will be back soon.

Wonderful family time

Winter wonderland

This is just as advertised. Only thing I could mention to benefit would be some more kitchen items,dish rags and pot holders especially. Overall, we sure enjoyed it!

Great day. Bring your own firewood.

We loved everything about our stay, but when we arrived to the cabin, it was 55° in there. Based off the pictures, I assumed there would be plenty of firewood. When we arrived, there was only one large log. My husband owns a firewood yard so it would’ve been nice to know to bring our own firewood before we left. Other than that, everything was great!

Cabin on the River

We had a wonderful time in this cozy cabin on the river, just a short 15 minute drive to Wolf Creek Ski Area. During our stay, we had everything we needed in the cabin. It snowed over 20 inches while we were there. If you’re visiting during winter, have a 4 wheel dr vehicle. A few vehicles were stuck in the neighborhood and we couldn’t get on the road until 11am. The stars at night are Amazing!

Could be better

The hot tub(the only reason we rented this cabin) was gross and would not heat up more then 86° which was depressing. The couch was dirty and wasnt comfortable at all. We loved the views but really wanted to use the hot tub. Also the dishwasher leaked everywhere..

Great location by the river

My husband and I enjoyed a 2 night stay at this wonderful cabin. We obviously did not need the extra beds but it would definitely be roomy enough for a family of 4. It was very clean and they communicated clearly and timely. We loved listening to the rushing river and spent most of our time on the deck. Enjoyed the hot tub and appreciated Wi-Fi and cable when it got cold outside. Nothing negative to say about our lodging at all. The only negative thing I would say about the town of South Fork is you’d better love Mexican food or you’re out of luck! We were sad to see so many restaurants had closed down in town. Ramon’s is excellent but we were hoping for an American breakfast joint that had more of a sit-down atmosphere than Rachel’s. But if you’re staying in South Fork, the cabin was great.

We booked this location because of fireplace and hot tub for a ski vacation. Hot tub was broken and never got fixed. Fire wood was out in a make shift oning covered in 3 ft of snow. We had to dig it out and carry back to cabin. Coffee pot was broken, multiple broken window blinds through out the rental made it hard to even see the beautiful mountains and stream. Multiple spiders were seen on our stay. Worst rental we have ever had anywhere. Thank goodness the skiing was great. Do not book with Vacasa!!!

Great area and over all a nice house

It was a great centralized location for all the things we wanted to do, and the house was pretty clean and was stocked with most of what we expected. The river right next to it was fantastic to listen to from inside the house. That said, there were issues that tarnished what seemed to otherwise be a great little house, if these things were fixed it would easily be 5 stars in my book… the toilet in the hall bathroom flushes poorly so it has to be plunged way too much and the sink in that same bathroom drains extremely slowly. In that same bathroom the handle to turn the water on in the shower was missing a part of it. The pocket door to that same bathroom was extremely difficult to lock and was also very difficult to open if closed all the way, so going to the bathroom was challenging for multiple reasons. The bedroom across from that bathroom, its bed was concave and very soft so that made sleeping a challenge. Last thing I can think of that could be improved is for the safety sensor on the lid of the washing machine to be replaced, it would shut the washer off until you open the lid and close it back.

Comfy and cute

Plenty of space! Lovely waterfront view. Check in and checkout were so easy . I didn’t feel like we had to do anything at checkout, which was awesome . Bring spray or oil for pans. Only salt and pepper provided. All paper products amd trash bags were adequate for our needs. Felt all rugs needed a better vacuum,couch too. But, otherwise clean.

We loved having coffee in the morning on the front deck listening to the river rush by. The location was perfect for everything we did. Ending the day in the hot tub was great!
