The Doghouse LLC Rental

This immaculate, recently redone, private, fully furnished, tropical townhouse with OCEAN access is ideal. It is located across the street from the ocean. Close to fishing, golfing, restaurants, shopping, theme parks, Kennedy Space Center, and airboat rides, this location is for you! The complex has only six townhouses. It is two story with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs with the laundry. Downstairs is the kitchen, dining, living room and a half bath. It is a very private tropical environment. There is a two car garage with beach chairs, umbrellas and other beach paraphernalia. I am available to answer any questions and live within walking distance of the townhome.
I own two townhouses in this complex of six units. They are side by side. Both have 2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths plus 2 car garages. The other is VRBO 1236168 Sea Shanntie.

Sister beach weekend

The location was perfect, we had all the comforts of home and had so much fun. We walked to the beach 3 times a day, such a fantastic location.

Very nice townhouse located just across the street from the beach access and a short walk to the Melbourne Beach Market and restaurants. The property manager was very responsive to everything we needed.

Great location- perfect for beach goers!

We absolutely loved the location of this property. You can walk to several beautiful beaches as well as restaurants and shopping. The townhouse was spacious, clean, and just as advertised. The host had beach chairs and other items on the property available for day travel and fun. Also close by is Sebastian Inlet.

Nice vacation and condo!

Loved our vacation in Melbourne Beach! The condo had everything we needed and was just steps away from the beach. The owner was very easy to work with and took care of a minor issue we had very quickly. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to vacation in Melbourne Beach.

The place was okay, chose this location as the property accepted dogs.

Communication with the owner was good during booking and check-in. Would have preferred a contactless check-in, especially during COVID. The place is a little loud as it’s right on A1A, but being across from the beach was a huge plus.

Cute, dog-friendly condo super close to the beach.

We had a very nice stay at this condo. The owner was super friendly and helpful. The unit is a dog-friendly unit so it’s furnished accordingly…vinyl plank floors, partly vinyl furniture. The recliner chairs are slightly worn, but they were the most comfortable chairs I’ve ever lounged in! Many things look new, while a few could use a little tweaking. It’s very close to the road, so you hear some road noise, but it’s right across the street from the beach access. That was really nice. You can actually walk to the ocean or walk the other direction to the intercoastal waterway. The condo is within walking distance to several restaurants and an amazing little market. We were lucky to be there during the Founder’s Day celebration at a little park, also within walking distance. If you drive across the bridge, there is a cute little town with great restaurants, shops, and even a theatre. We appreciated having access to the cleaning supplies, and upon leaving, they took care of everything including trash, recyclables, dishwasher, and washing the bedding and towels. There is a parking space near the entryway and also a garage to park out of the sun. We had a lovely stay, and my mom booked it for six weeks next winter!

Disaster

After checking into the property we soon realized property had not been properly cleaned. We found very poor cleaning in a variety of areas. Then we found live cockroaches in the bedroom of the property. After a closer review we found indications of bedbugs. The property owner did not respond to our concerns. We left the property after 12 hour because we felt this was a significant health hazard. We contacted VRBO immediately and did not receive any support. They told us they were trying to contact owner but they were nonresponsive. After 29 days VRBO has still not made a decision on my request for a refund. Initially, they told me that my video and pictorial proof to them showing live cockroaches and blood on sheets were a " minor incident" and did not warrant a refund. I made a new complaint under health and safety and still not have heard from VRBO. We were 1800 miles from home and booked for 30 days from a VRBO listing and were totally unsupported.

Great location - needs attention

While the location is awesome, and the kitchen fairly well equipped, the ladies that run this do it part time. The good: Kitchen fairly well equipped. Location is walking distance to eating, liquor store, beach, happy hour, store/pharmacy - all you need or want. Rooms were well furnished and comfy. The bad: Living room is sparse as you can tell from the photo- what you can’t tell is the couch is foam and SUPER uncomfortable. The chairs are from a hotel? also very uncomfortable. I got sick and spent a good deal of time on the little couch (no room for hubby if I lounge) while he sat propped in the little chair also struggling to get comfortable. He’s only 5’7” and the chair was small for him. The dog when left unattended would be found upstairs snoozing. Continuing on - there is outside access if you can pry the sliding doors open but there isn’t any furniture to sit out there and no grill to cook on. To be fair there is a table and chairs right outside the front door - but it’s beside the front door - just weird. The ladies want to check you in - I guess to verify who you are because there really is no need. While nice in person they were unwilling to work with me during my check in time - I was arriving from overseas and was forced to get a hotel that first night. I asked about changing my reservation to reflect that one less evening but she didn't respond. I feared I may lose the reservation if I did try to cancel and re-book. When arriving I asked if they minded if I stopped to get somethings on the way in and “she’d be stuck there an hour” if I adjusted my arriving time. This place could be so much better: add a grill and outside seating, make sure the light bulbs work, enough hand, dish soap and trash bags, add a book with the instructions for the tv and highlights of the area and lastly, add a lock box so people can check in without the host having to adjust their schedule. They did check in with me through out the stay if I needed anything which was nice. I enjoyed my time here but it could have been so much better.

fabulous stay!

We have been to Melbourne beach for over 20 years but needed to rent for the first time. This condo was super cute and clean. It is well decorated and equipped. You really need to bring nothing. Our dog came and loved it too! The location is superb! Only request would be better beach chairs, as we are beach people and maybe a king size bed in the master. Can't wait to visit again! Just fabulous! Thank you so much!

we had a great time here

The Dog House is a great place to stay. Shannon and Nova were great to work with. They were very quick to get back to us about any questions we had. The condo is a 2-minute walk to the beach. The garage that comes with the condo is a plus. They supply everything you need for a stay there. I can't say enough good things about our stay.

Wonderful place!

Check-in process: We were arriving on a holiday, Shannon worked with us to get the key to us, and it went smoothly. Cleanliness: Completely clean, nice decor - typical Florida beach vibe. Amenities: the kitchen was well stocked with a few surprises - it even had a spice rack which is so nice when you want to cook for yourself. Coffeemaker is a Keurig - the basic flavors both decaf and regular all stocked. We stopped at the nearby grocery and got a few special ones for ourselves, but that was just personal taste. All appliances newer and it great working order. The bed (we stayed in the Master) was comfy - my only complaint was the pillows were a bit flat, but my BF said they were fine, so maybe i am just picky. ;) The towels and linens were new and plentiful. Nice shampoos and soaps, essential when you are a forgetful traveler! A/c worked well, the place was very comfortable. Loved the books all around the place - such a nice touch. We didn't bring our dogs since we flew, but the owner even had nice amenities for pups! Two dog bowls, a leash, dog bed, and even "doggie bags" to clean up after your pooch. TV had Roku, had apps such as Netflix already logged in, others we just logged in using our own accounts. I would suggest perhaps a guide on TV usage, as every TV works differently these days. We didn't have a problem, but i could see less techie folks being a bit puzzled. Location - right around the corner from Melbourne Beach Supermarket, great little store with an amazing deli. Plenty of little restaurants and cafes in walking distance, not to mention Sand on the Beach - great bar for a nightcap (go early during turtle season, they are right on the beach and have to close at 9pm to make sure turtle babies don't get confused!). Quiet neighborhood, seemed very safe as well. All in all, we really loved the place. We have family in the area, and will put this on the top of our list to rent again. Great location and property!

This was a perfect spot for my family to stay at for a week. We were there with two kids and our dog, and it was plenty of room and very clean. We especially loved that it was such a quick walk to the beach and the balconies to relax on. Shannon was a wonderful host! Would definitely recommend and will stay here again on our next visit to Melbourne Beach.

The property was everything we hoped for after choosing it online. The location is perfect It’s right across the street from the beach and a nice walk to stores, restaurants and the pier. I wish we never had to leave.

Perfect for us!

The townhouse was just what we needed! It was clean, comfortable and across the street from the beach. Having a garage and a washer/dryer was great! We would definitely stay here again in the future.
