We would not stay in this unit again. It was really dirty and we had to spend some of our time cleaning. The kitchen in particular was very dirty. The cabinets in which the dishes were stored were filthy (actual dirt and sand on the shelves). There was a shelf in the kitchen that held the glassware and it was filthy. I pulled some of the dishes out of the cabinets to wash them and they had been put away with dried food. The view is wonderful however there is no screen in the slider so we could not have the door open to enjoy the weather. The table on the patio was covered in something sticky which also had to be cleaned. Access to the pool was great and the washer/dryer is right outside of the unit so that was very convenient. I’d go back to this building but not to this unit.

Terrific Vacation

Jake is a great owner, very responsive. Unit is in a fabulous location, was sparkling clean, great water pressure in shower ( a pet peace of ours), equipped with everything we needed and great ocean views and access. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

We found the condo to be clean, well stocked and comfortable. It's in a great location, has a beautiful beachfront view from the balcony and is a short 3-5 minute walk to access the beach. Jake is amazing and responds within minutes to any questions you may have. We are returning to HHI later this year and plan to book this property again.

Great Location

We had a great stay in this condo. It was just as advertised. Great location, very close to the beach. The one thing that was missing was some beach chairs. It wasn't a big deal as we just bought some at Bi-Lo (which is super close), but would've been great if they had some there.

I'm so glad that you're stay was wonderful! For future reference, beach chairs are in fact available for rent all along the beach and right in front of our villas for ease and comfort!

Really did not enjoy this stay here. The unit was dirty and pretty rough around the edges. Read the fine print as the bunk beds are definitely only for children and even then a struggle as mine could not sleep in them they were so uncomfortable. Upon arrival the unit seemed in disrepair. Cleaning job is not the best, the pull out couch was dirty, the toilet handle was broken, the faucet handle was cracked, the coffee maker was filthy, the air conditioner kicking on and off all night was frustrating, and on and on. We rarely slept and ultimately left the unit early. If you're looking for a crash pad this would suffice but if you're looking for something more luxury and clean I would suggest looking elsewhere. The unit itself is in a great location. The beach access and pool was great.

Beautiful views

I gave it 3 stars because of the views. The property was not as clean as previous VRBO renters had reviewed. Thankfully the weather was good as we spent most of our days outside.

Beautiful stay in HH

My wife and I loved everything about our stay in HH. The property was just as described on line and we had a wonderful view of the ocean. The weather was not great but we did not let that stop us. We walked on the beach, enjoyed the pool and explored many restaurants in the area. Jake was great to work with and helped us with any questions we had. Can’t wait to return!! -CK

Great for families

This is a great property if you’re looking for somewhere kid friendly. The elevator is just down the hall and the beach/pool is very close and easily accessible. The pool is heated which was great for us since we were there on Spring Break. The beds are decently comfortable and they give plenty of linens, pillows and towels. There is not a washer and dryer in the unit and you have to pay to use the community ones next to the elevator. It wasn’t an issue for us but it may be for others if they stay longer. The unit was clean and decorated tastefully. The porch was fantastic. We left the doors open almost the whole time and the view was beautiful and the sound of the ocean was so peaceful. Jake was great and helpful and gave us personalized recommendations for food and activities. Overall, it’s a great property, you won’t regret staying here.

Perfect location

My daughter and I had a long weekend get away here. Proximity to the beach, and view from the balcony were just what I was looking for. It is an easy walk to Coligny The sleeper sofa bed was adequate for her, but not super comfortable. I can’t imagine 2 trying to sleep on it. The hall bunks would work for small children, but not adults. We couldn’t give a 5 star for cleanliness- upon pulling open the sleeper sofa there was dust and trash under it. Jake is a very responsive host- every question I had was answered quickly. He even called to talk me through getting the tv working ( a prior guest must have moved a cable connection in the back) I would agree with a prior reviewer about check out time- 11 would be better. It was disconcerting to have housekeeping let themselves in at 9:45 when my daughter was still in the shower. Would most definitely stay here again, recommend!

Not a “5 star” villa

First of all Hilton Head is a wonderful place to visit and has a beautiful beach. This villa is in a great location. As far as the accommodations, were do I start. When it says it sleeps 6...yes...to move around that’s another story. The villa is definitely worn and in need of renovations. The main bedroom needs a new mattress and the bunk bed mattresses are older than me...I’m 43. You don’t believe me, check it out if you are brave. The sleeper sofa is in need of replacement. The kitchen supplies were adequate with all the basics but in need of replacement. I could not cut up my watermelon with those dull knives...ugg! The house keeping was also in need of replacement. The kitchen and bathrooms needed to be wiped down. NO sanitizer or cleaning products. I grabbed the dishwasher handle to open and there was grime on it...ugg. At this point I was ready to leave but we had 3 kids in toe and they were ready to head to the beach. I certainly hope that this motivates the owner/manager to make some changes

I have hosted over 150+ happy guests and I am known for my exceptional customer service and regret that I didn't live up to those expectations here. Please note the villa was just remodeled last year. I have a professional cleaning service before and after every guest stay per Covid 19 regulations. If any additional cleaning services are requested or if something has been overlooked, I would be happy to accommodate. Not Quite The "5 Stars" We Thought We Were Getting.....

There were many items that, unfortunately, did not match our ideas and thoughts of what a five start condo would or should look like. Although the condo smelled clean when first entering, we were discouraged when we noticed that no cleaning spray or sanitizing options were available under the kitchen sink, for us to use while staying at the condo. No spices or oil was there for seasoning and cooking, and minimal dishes and utensils were available, so make sure you bring everything. There was a large stain on the comforter in the master bedroom, and the AC Unit did not work. The ceiling fan in the master also seemed to be glued or stuck to stay on high, and we could not turn it down. The sleeper sofa, that our children used, had crinkled up blankets, not sheets, that were folded up inside the mattress when opened, which we did not even know if they had been washed. Along with cleanliness, I would invest in a trashcan that is larger and has a lid in the kitchen, so that the unit does not smell of food each time a family tries to cook, and therefore ensures proper hygiene so that odors and bacteria do not float in the air among your kitchen and living room space. We were also not impressed, that on our last night, at 7:30 pm, a knock at the door came for a delivery of the new AC Unit, and that once talking to the delivery man, he was given our private key code, to enter into the condo and deliver. That made us feel extremely uncomfortable, even though an email was sent out earlier in the day to us about a "package" being delivered, which we did not see, because we had been out on the beach. The location to the pool and beach was a huge plus, but we would only rate this condo 3 stars in hopes that new upgrades would be made to better the longevity of this rental property and it's amenities. It may be that the owner of the property wants to maintain a "5 star review rating, and wants any constructive criticism in private notes" but this doesn't show well for other guests looking for a true 5 star rental.

Thank you for your review Cason, I appreciate all feedback. Your comfort is my first priority. There is a professional cleaning service done before and after every guest stay per COVID-19 regulations. If any additional cleaning service is requested, I would be happy to accommodate. Upon seeing your review, I immediately contacted my cleaning service and they will look into the pull-out couch and comforter situation. I have always had a positive cleaning reputation in the past, and will continue to provide excellent service. I respect the privacy of all my guests, and I have NEVER and would NEVER share a guest private key code. As per the amenities, guests always receive a start-up supply of bathroom / kitchen amenities for their convenience. However, I normally do not provide cooking supplies, as every guest has their own preferences, but I will certainly consider this in the future. Thank you again for your feedback!

Great view, smelled bad and needs maintenance and deep cleaning

The view from the patio was beautiful. That was what lead us to rent this unit. That's the best part of this unit. The condo itself was a huge disappointment. In fact, it was uncomfortable for us to be there. The first thing we noticed when we walked through the door was a distinct, unpleasant smell. I contacted Jake right away, but nothing was done about it. After a couple days, we tried turning off the ac unit in the bedroom and that made a big difference. There are water stains on the ceiling in a couple places and around the window in the master bedroom. There are bubbles in the wallpaper on the exterior wall in the bedroom, so likely water has gotten in somehow. The popcorn ceilings were full of dust especially in the bedroom and in the bathroom the ceiling was peeling above the shower. The door frames and bunk beds had lots of dirty smudges from hands touching and leaving marks behind. The knobs to turn on the shower had gaps between them and the shower wall, so water trickles in and behind the knobs each time you use the shower. The glass sliding door to the patio could only be opened and shut from the inside of the unit, because the door wouldn't slide on the track without great effort. Once it was open, I couldn't get enough traction and grip from the outside of the patio to close it. Jake said a new one is on order. The other disappointing part of this unit was the washer and dryer are not in the unit. There is a laundry room for all residents (pay per load, you need quarters) down the hall. I did not notice that in the description of the unit prior to renting. Knowing that in advance, we would have choosen a different unit with a washer and dryer in the unit. Jake said he will make that more visible for future renters. Jake was quick to respond back in email, but not with actually sending someone to resolve any issues during our stay. I did send feedback the first day on many issues. He did say he would refund our cleaning fee. I should mention, the appliances were all clean and seemed to be good working order, the countertop in the kitchen was pretty. Decorations in the front room were also tasteful. The location was close to the beach and bike paths. But, with the smell, and other maintenance/deep cleaning issues it was not comfortable for our family to stay here.

If location is most important…

If location/proximity to Coligny and beach or pool access are most important to you, this is a great property. We spent most of our time outside either shopping, at the beach (rented umbrellas and chairs) or at the pool. We were happy we brought our own pillows and some basic items from home. Jake was very responsive and professional.

Beautiful Views

This property met our needs, however, when we arrived the cleaning service never cleaned the condo after the prior guests left. After speaking with the property owner, the cleaning crew came, but our check in time was delayed by two hours. I was underwhelmed with the job the cleaning service did. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, and around the corners of the bathroom mirror. The comforters on the beds were dirty as well, and I ended up washing them myself. All of these issues occurred with the cleaning service, and not the owner. Jake is amazing, and is very responsive. He offered to refund the cleaning fees, which I thought was reasonable.

Perfect location, excellent stay!

Our family is six (including four children) stayed here for a long weekend and we had a fantastic time. The place was very clean, we had plenty of comfortable and clean bedding and towels, and the kitchen had everything that we needed! We loved the beach decor. The location couldn’t be beat! Just a short boardwalk and you’re on the beach! There were umbrellas and beach chairs for rent right on the beach which was great to not have to bring our own! We spent all day on the beach and in the pool, or walking around town, and then came back up for movies (the tv had Netflix) and dinner. All in all this was a great stay, we didn’t want to leave! If you stay here you truly won’t regret it! Our host was also very responsive and kind. Thank you again for allowing our family to stay here and make such wonderful memories!

Great property!

We loved staying here at Ocean Dunes. Jake was so great about getting back to us about our concerns. The location is wonderful and in walking distance to Coligny plaza. It is all gated so I also felt safe there with my family.

Beautiful view of the beach

Great location and beautiful view of the beach. The condo was clean and the size was adequate for my husband and me. Jake was a great host and answered all of our questions throughout our stay.

Great place for a quick getaway

We were coming up from Pooler, GA and the location was a short drive, easy to find, and right on the beach. Our room had a balcony that overlooked one of the pools and the beach- it was pretty perfect. The unit was clean and well stocked. It was just my husband and I so the space was a great size for us. When we first got there we had no idea there was an elevator so that is good information to know- figured posting it here may help some folks on the 3rd floor :) Hosts were super communicative and helpful. Great stay.
