Great Family Home

The house was perfect! Very spacious living area with a great playroom for the kids. The house was fully stocked and comfortable. Great location! We will be back!

Great home away from home

We had a great experience renting this house! The owners are terrific to work with and really care that your stay is wonderful. The house was in great shape and decorated warmly. The extras such as beach towels, kayaks, many bikes and many games just added to our great time. No reservations recommending!

A Beautiful Fish!

Fish Tale is a wonderful home. Great view of the beach from the deck, well appointed and lovely, clean home. Great place for a large group or small gathering. The owners are very generous with usage of bicycles, beach equipment, etc.

Nice home, it was ideal for our family. Everyone was comfortable. The home is older and in need more f some loving. We didn’t know there was a washer and dryer because it was locked up until the night before we left. It would have been nice to have been available. The internet went out for a day but they were very communicative and even came out in terrible weather. Would rent this home again. It was lovely.

This is the one, you’ve found THE perfect home on BHI! Ocean views, steps away from the beach, stocked kitchen, two beautifully furnished master suites, ample space for entertaining, a “library wall” with so many great beach reads, and so much more. We will definitely be back!

Fish Tale

The house is very comfortable and spacious. The photos do it justice. The kitchen is stocked with everything. The view of the sunset and sunbathing on the front deck is amazing. The house is located in a good location on the island because it’s a short drive to the grocery store and restaurants. It also has a beach access right across the street.

Excellent House

Bald Head Island is my family's favorite place to take a beach vacation. This house is very well appointed and functional. Anything you could want to have available was there, including gas and charcoal grills, beach toys, and bikes, and the kitchen set up and bunk beds in the kids room were great. The view is tremendous, and there was plenty of space for two families to relax and spread out. The owners were quick with responses to reserve the property as well as refund the security deposit. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect house!

After staying in countless beach houses up and down the east coast, Fish Tales was one of the best. Wonderfully equipped kitchen, great beach chairs, spacious outdoor shower, comfy beds and phenomenal views. The owners were very attentive and when we had a fan issue, maintenance was there in an hour! We had plenty of room for the 10 people in our party and with 4 teenage girls, that is a must;) Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home with us!

Nicely equipped beach cottage

This property was a wonderful place to stay the week after my daughter’s wedding. Great location across from the beach. Cute beach cottage, fully equipped. The only minor problem was large palmetto bugs all over the house. Might need an exterminator to come spray. Other than that, perfect!

Great!

We had a fantastic stay at this property - I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be much more spacious and updated in the living areas than I was expecting. There were ample toys for the babies and young kids to play with, we didn't need to unpack any toys that we bought. I was expecting larger/newer golf carts, but the 2 4-seater carts did the job just fine! The kitchen was awesome, overall stay was fantastic. Just wish we would have booked longer!

Amazing beach front home!

Beautiful home! Pictures do not do not accurately show how amazing this home is. Right across the street from beach actress. 3 golf carts, one of which was brand new and comfortably fit all 4 of us. 2 masters on opposite sides of the home, everyone has plenty of space! Cannot wait to return!

A Home Away from Home

This house boasts a great open floorplan with plenty of windows, natural light and views to enjoy, while also providing cozy spots throughout for quite moments. The kitchen is very workable and wonderfully stocked. Our young son was excited to find a section just for him with toys and a great spot to play in the sun room. We've returned to BHI for several years and we found this house met so many of our needs. It is truly a warm and inviting house. Thank you for sharing!

a great spot on BHI

This house was great for our 2 families when we stayed last spring. There was plenty of room for the kids and adults. Big, spacious rooms, open floorplan. Everything works. The best part was the excellent deck for cocktails overlooking the ocean, beach is right there. Well equipped with nice furniture, great beds- no need to bring my own pillows or linens. Plenty of beach toys and chairs, golf carts. The location in middle of south beach is ideal mid-island. No problems at all. highly recommended.

GREAT HOUSE

Fish Tale is a comfortable, well lived-in house that is easy to love. Our family came to Bald Head for the first time and stayed at Fish Tale. Perfectly located close to everything, Fish Tale has great decks and living spaces. We loved the crabbing, kite flying and reading. The library is great. Excellent tables for puzzles and games. The satellite radio was a nice surprize, and the kitchen had great gadgets. Everything is well-organized and the beds and linens were of superior quality. We will return again. Thank you for sharing your wonderful house with us.

Nice location, AC problem

This house has too much clutter, too many baby toys. Air conditioning was a problem in the entire house and a portable unit was not working well for the master bedroom. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was recently remodeled. The rest of the house was somewhat dated showing signs of wear and tear. Overall we had a great time because we love BHI!

Thank you for your review. We work very hard to keep our house a comfortable and an affordable place to stay on BHI. Our rate is well below homes in the area. We keep it well stocked (most guests rent this home because of the toys for small children) and provide high quality linens and towels in addition to a very well stocked kitchen for family meals. We have high quality beach chairs, beach towels, and many bikes (not often found in rental homes). Of course, things happen on the island that are hard to repair quickly - the AC. It is BHI - one of the drawbacks of being on an island! I hope you find a house that better suits your group needs in the future. Thank you for trying our home.

Fantastic Stay!!

We absolutely love staying at Fish. Tale. Everything about it was a pleasant surprise! The house was extremely clean, bright and sunny. We had three toddlers with us and certainly did not need to bring one toy! There is a wonderful area for play complete with toys, cars, books and building blocks. The house is located right across from Beach Access 17. It was easy for everyone to come and go. The outdoor shower with plenty of warm water was a major plus. It also serves to keep the house very clean.The kitchen is fabulous and well equipped. We loved spending our days at the beach and pools, and we loved coming home to Great family dinners and evenings at Fish Tale. Thank you for providing this fabulous property.

Worst stay at BHI

We have stayed at BHI about a dozen times. This was the worst stay yet. For the price you pay, there should be no issues. First issue when we got there was the freezer. It had ice built up below the freezer so the door wouldn't shut. Water was melted all over the floor. Had to call maintenance and freezer couldn't be used. Next was main living room TV. No picture, only sound. Called maintenance. TV is not working and needs to be replaced. So we all as a family could not watch TV together. Everyone ended up in separate rooms to watch TV. Next, we were short towels and floor mats for some reason. Come to find out after 2 days, most of the hand towels, floor mats, kitchen towels were still in the dryer! Cleaniness was poor at best. All of our feet were black if walking around barefoot. Microwave needs replacing. Stove could only get to 350 and worked iintermittently. We ended up having to broil anything we put in there because the oven couldn't get hot enough. Needless to say, almost everything we needed to use or required had an issue. This was a BHI managed property and we will never use them again.

We have had many great compliments on this home as well as repeats. We are ordering a new fridge and unfortunately the freezer did have an issue. We did respond to your call immediately and also let you know that you were not without a freezer and there is a deep stand up freezer in the pantry for your use. We received your call about the TV days after your stay and again sent maintenance immediately. Unfortunately TV's are not readily available on Bald Head and we ordered one that day and picked up and delivered to the home. By that time, your stay was over. We acted as quickly as we could to help accommodate your stay to the best of our abilities. We spoke several times on the phone and the cleaning was never mentioned. We are on island 24/7 and would have been more than happy to come over and fix any issues. We were also happy to assist you in searching for a cell phone that was left after your stay to make sure you retrieved. We felt our services were to the best standard.

Wonderful Stay at a Very Nice Home

My family stayed at Fish Tale over Labor Day Weekend. The home was perfect for us! The amenities were great. There was a playroom for my daughter to use, a highchair, as well as multiple crib/pack and play options. The kitchen was fully stocked and easy to navigate. The distance to the beach was very manageable (less than a block) with access to beach chairs, towels and toys. Overall, a wonderful stay at a very nice home. Thank you!!

Great location and a very nice house!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The location is great, just steps away from the beach. The house is super cute with lots of personalized touches. Everything you need is there. Kitchen is very well equipped. And everything is labeled which is super helpful. Our dog loved it too! We will be back!
