Nice beach!

The sandy beach is one of the best we’ve found on the bay side of Dauphin Island, and the water was deep enough to swim unlike many areas on that side of the island. Hot tub needs a cover though.

Great location!

We loved being able to go back and forth between the Gulf and bay. Evenings on the Bayside provided the most spectacular sunsets! Awesome stay in an incredible home!

This was a great location to enjoy the ocean and the bay. Also you could see the sunrise and sunset from the back porch. We enjoyed the bottom and top decks...never had to use the popup or umbrellas. The house was lovely, the refrigerator and cook top need to be replaced...lots of fridge broken shelves and the cooktop only had a few working eyes with no writing on the knobs so didnt know simmer from high. You need to cook when you stay on Dauphin Island...not many restaurants and most had a long waitlist...broken appliances make for a terrible experience.

Independence Day

The beach in front of Paws Awhile is one of the best we've found on the bay side of Dauphin Island, and the water was actually deep enough to be relatively cool most of the week. We were bothered by the standing green water in the hot tub that was likely a breeding ground for mosquitoes. If the hot tub really needs a cover on it.

Great location and perfect for our furry babies.

We enjoyed our stay at Paws a while. We loved having our dogs with us. The location was perfect and it’s a really nice house. We did have some things that should be addressed prior to your next guests.

Perfect Relaxing Honeymoon

We got married in New Orleans the week before we came to Paws Awhile. It was the perfect relaxing get away we needed after our wedding with a few members of our family.

Close to the Gulf and bay

We had a hiccup with our original reservation but the staff exceeded every expectation to make sure we were taken care of. Then stopped in when we arrived to check on us. Everything was awesome

Perfect for young kids

This bayside home was the perfect beach experience for us with our young kids. They loved playing in the sand and it was nice to let them play in the water without fear of currents or large waves. This was reinforced every day when we looked across the street and saw the waves breaking hard on the gulf side beach!

Nice getaway

Easy to access both gulf and bay side. Nice that you did not feel right on top of your neighbor. Loved and really appreciate that is was pet friendly. Our dog had a great time!

Beautiful home, great location and needs some repair

The house itself is beautiful and in a beautiful location. We loved the white sand beach and looking for shells. Our dog had a blast swimming and we were happy we could take her with us. Some items need repair and were difficult to use and/or didn’t work (oven, grill, bar TV, bar lights, bar fridge, hot tub). There are no hammocks like shown in the pictures. For the price of this rental and the amount of competition, these items should be in good working condition.

Review of Paws-A-While beachhouse

We were very pleased with the rental except that neither ice machine worked-the one on the counter or the in the freezer-so I reported this, but no one came, so we had to buy ice. The oven does not work properly. The top oven did not heat up past a certain degree, the bottom oven didn't work unless the top oven was on.

Most horrible trip to the beach we've ever had.

Washing machine was full of water when we got there. Could not wash clothes. There was a nail sticking out of the second tray of the stairs that cut my grandson's foot. There was also a broken piece on the footboard that my other grandson cut his leg on the Hot tub did not work at all no help from the staff to get the problems fixed refrigerator downstairs at the bar didn't work. Property was not maintained very well. Would not stay here again.

Beach escape

We had an issue checking in. We arrived on the island early, so we drove around getting familiar with the area. At 4pm we headed to the house. We arrived a few minutes after 4pm to find the cleaning crew. They didn’t speak English so a representative arrived to speak with us. She was very nice and apologetic. Regardless, we sat and waited at the patio area under the house. This area was a big disappointment. It was nothing like pictured. All the nice furniture was gone. The hanging chairs, large grill, hammock. And lounge chairs were gone. The only furniture was a picnic table, one broken wooden lounge chair, a heavy outdoor lounge chair and matching beach style chair. There was a large grill that was broken and a smaller working grill. We chose this house because of the downstairs area. We felt it would be a perfect area to keep our dog out of the sun while we enjoyed the sun and we’re just steps from the water. Once we were able to enter the house, it was perfect. Very clean and exactly as pictured. The furniture was comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with all necessities. The next disappointment was the hot tub. I lifted the cover and the water was dirty. It stuck a

Not like last year

What a difference a year makes. Stayed here last year and all was great. This year, outside furniture broken or missing, no bedding for fold out couch, television on deck had no power(broken), hot tub did not work properly and fittings were falling off/missing. Other than that everything else was great. Very nice place, just not like last year
