Welcome to your home-away-from-home here at Gold Creek Lodge! This custom mining-themed cabin is nestled in the ponderosa pines in the highly popular Powder House Pass area. Located in a perfect location centrally located within the recreational corridor of the Northern Black Hills, you'll enjoy the convenience of having Snowmobile Trail #5 and the Mickelson trail adjacent to the neighborhood. Are you traveling to the Black Hills to see the sites? Spearfish Canyon is only a 5 minute drive from the cabin where you can enjoy waterfalls, rock climbing, fishing and hiking in the rim-rock canyon walls of the canyon. Terry Peak can be accessed in a short 5-10 minute drive for some skiing adventures, and you can be in Deadwood in as little as 10 minutes enjoying the nightlife and festivals that frequent the area. Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park and more are only a 45 minute drive from the property as well! Walk out your door and snowmobile, hike, ATV or bike without having to hook up a trailer and find a trailhead. Whether you're visiting for a relaxing getaway or an adventure filled vacation, Gold Creek Lodge is sure to please!

After enjoying your adventure filled days on your vacation, you'll love coming home to enjoy the wildlife and endless starry nights from the large deck or hot tub. Inside, you'll love the comfort designed theme and furniture with 3 king suites. The main level has a large open concept with a grand entry, large windows filling the cabin with natural light and great views of the surrounding forest, and cathedral ceilings. You'll find quality rustic finishes throughout the cabin with wooden timber accents, rock and metal accents, and a large fireplace in the main living area. There's 5 total bedrooms, all 5 of them with King beds, 2 of the bedrooms each have 4 twin beds as bunk beds (4 total bunk beds), and there's a sofa sleeper in the lower level family room as well! The open kitchen leads right into the living area, perfect for gathering and creating the wonderful memories with your family and friends. Make your next vacation to the Black Hills a memorable one! Communication with the host was good, returned questions in a timely manner. Space was plentiful in the house with all the bedrooms and bathrooms, nice layout for numerous families. Nice location, kids enjoyed the pool and pool table at the clubhouse. Some things that need attention: the breaker on the hot tub outside blew numerous times, once we went to get in and the temperature was down to 86 and nothing worked on it, had to reset it multiple times.The downstairs outlets all lost power (nothing was on but the television, no sauna or hot tub), had to flip the breaker in the breaker box in the garage.Arcade game would not work downstairs.Downstairs shower handle was very loose, needs to be tightened.Upstairs hand held shower head was leaking the entire time and the last day the end came right off, had water shooting out of the hose.Quite a bit of cobwebs in corners, ceiling and light above stove needs to be wiped down, covered with grease and dust. We had to buy and replace batteries in three of the tv remotes, also had to replace batteries in the thermostat in the garage. Couch felt broken in one of the seats.There was a raw hide dog chew in the basement when we arrived, not ours as we thought the house was pet free.There were not enough forks for all the guests, house sleeps 20 but we could not all eat a meal together with utensils. The book states to leave the temp at 55 in the winter when you leave, but each thermostat has a sign saying 65, wasn't sure.

Great rental

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. Easy check in and so much room. We loved the sauna and the hot tub. I would have given it five stars, but the home itself is starting to show some wear along with the towels etc. for a home to sleep 20 people there was plenty of plates and utensils but not enough dining seating. All in all a great property.

The home is lovely in size, the suites were great, upstairs was a challenge with the shared bathroom as I heard that complaint multiple times, The back deck area was nice, but in the full sun afternoon it was not a place to be, there was no option for shade, so we ended up sitting in the driveway. Kitchen was very small for a property that sleeps 20 people, that was by far the biggest complaint. Did we have fun, absolutely, was it the best place we have stayed in powder house pass, nope. We are excited for our next year trip as we booked Grand Point.

Lead family vacay

We were so busy sightseeing that we were all together in the mornings for breakfast and evenings for dinner and games. The hot tub was great. Didn’t use the sauna. Could have been cleaner. Sweeping behind furniture, for example and cleaning the dirty towels and bedding from the upstairs closet.. The video game machine did not operate, and couldn’t find the ball for foosball. But, overall super roomy for us all and plenty of bathrooms.

Great stay BUT…

Our family had an amazing stay. The property had enough room for our family of 18. The decor was nice, kitchen had plenty of dishes and pots. I would defiantly stay here again. There are few things I do believe they could do to improve the stay. The bedding and mattress are old, not very comfortable. We booked 5 days, they did not have enough toilet paper, paper towels or trash bags. I had to go buy additional. The towels had an old musty dirty smell. I do believe it is from the washer, we tried to wash some towels and the wash machine smelled up the entire laundry area. Dryer took all day to dry one load. There are no balls for the foosball table. The arcade game was not functioning properly until my daughter spent time reconnecting several cords. The lid to the hot tub was broke. Improving these areas would make the money spent more justifiable. We love our time together as a family and enjoy the Black Hills.

Dorwart Family Christmas

Wonderful for our 2 family’s with children the bunk rooms were perfect. The kitchen was just perfect as we did all our meals at the house. Kids used the basement family room almost entirely so that left the main living room for us. Enjoyed the hot tub several times and the big dining table was used not just for meals but also lots of games for young and old alike. We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place. Thank You!!!!

Kool deadwood nights fun

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place was very beautiful - there were quite a lot of tall weeds in the front and back, that I was tempted to pick. haha. Other than that, beautiful place and location. The beds could have been more comfortable; and the bathroom situation was a little odd for our group. With enough beds for over 8 people on the upper level and sharing 1 bath, wasnt ideal. Luckily we had two couples up there. It does so happen (Even though we were told otherwise) That the lower two bedrooms actually do have nice baths in them. And there is even another 1/2 bath in the lower that wasnt mentioned - which is really nice for the hot tubbers, and video gamers and sauna users. The place could use a more thorough cleaning - especially the lower level: lots of spider webs. Other than the fridge not cooling too well, all other amenities worked great. Not for sure if this is an ideal cabin for our group of 4 couples again, but would definitely still recommemend it.

Amazing Family Vacation!

It was a beautiful home, was very spacious and accommodated all 15 of us, 8 adults 7 kids (ages 6-15). Lots of room for sleeping or getting away for some quiet time! It was within walking distance to the clubhouse where the kids could go swimming in the heated pool! The sauna, arcade game and hot tub were big hits by all! Kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils and contained some items such as coffee, salt, pepper, coffee filters etc. Only thing we would’ve preferred was some bigger pots, when cooking pasta for 15 people the small pots that were there weren’t really adequate! The back deck was amazing for morning coffee or sitting around the fire table in the evening! Lots to see and do in the area and very accessible! Budi was very easy to deal with and always replied to my emails, everything went amazingly! Would highly recommend! Was a wonderful family vacation!
