Step onto the terrace for a massage with one of our recommended masseurs or take an afternoon swim in in the 50 foot pool-with-a-view and you will feel like you are in your own private resort. Recently featured in California Homes and Design Magazine*, Lavender Hill is a luxury hide-away in the Wine country available year-round for discerning guests. If you and your group appreciate design, setting and amenities a cut above the standard vacation rental property, you will not be disappointed.

The property consists of a contemporary three bedroom, two and one-half bath main house, plus a Craftsman style one bedroom, one bath guest house, on a ridge-top location with spectacular 280-degree views of the vineyards of Sonoma Valley. There are five very private, fenced and gated acres, much of them level or gently sloping with mature oak and olive trees--ideal for relaxing with your family or friends.

The large, well-appointed gourmet kitchen has a six-burner Viking range, two convection ovens, a wine refrigerator, and concrete/steel counters. There is formal indoor dining for twelve people, casual outdoor dining for 12+.

The spacious master bedroom boasts a separate stereo system, television w/ DVD/VCR, satellite service w/HBO. The master bath has a two-person, Japanese-style soaking tub and a detached slate shower w/ skylight. New in 2008: Hardcourt Tennis court w/ basketball hoop.

All bedrooms have Frette bathrobes, 620 thread-count linens and tasteful furniture. In addition, there is 1500 square feet of decking for outdoor dining and relaxing, a lap pool with an automatic cover and a 6-person outdoor hot tub with a beautiful view of the Mayacamas mountains and the Sonoma valley.

NEW IN MARCH OF 2021: Outdoor kitchen and bar with gas and wood grills, professional bartenderā€™s sink, seating for four and night lighting.

Secluded yet only five minutes from the award-winding wineries of the northern Sonoma Valley. 12 miles from Sonoma Plaza, ten miles to Santa Rosa; 30 minutes to the Russian River and Napa valley. Child friendly. Completely remodeled in 2002. This is not a party house. WE DO NOT ALLOW EVENTS OR PARTIES OF ANY KIND! SORRY!!

We were 7 adults getting together for a reunion of sorts and the property was perfect. Loved the great room with the views! Really enjoyed having the tennis court and the pool...along with the ping pong table. (Would have been perfect for family/plenty to do.) The house sits at the top of a hill and has amazing views and places to sit and relax. The kitchen was perfect for preparing meals. Only downside was that we didn't stay long enough. :). Oh and if I had to pick something to critique was that not all bedrooms were en suite, but not a big deal.

Gorgeous house and location. Tennis court was a focus for us. Played every morning and afternoon. Brought our own equipment but there was also plenty provided. Pool was perfect temp all the time and both afforded stunning views. Really hope to return.

New Yearā€™s Retreat

Our adult family of 8 had a terrific time in Kenwood. The home is very well appointed with lots of custom touches and high end sheets and towels. We love to cook and enjoyed the kitchen which has all the toys a chef will need. The grill kitchen, pickle court and hot tub were all put to use. The location is perfect with great views and proximity to all the Sonoma points of interest.

Epic Family Getaway

Our family getaway to Lavender Hill was definitely one toĀ remember.Ā  This was for a joint birthday celebration for sister and mom, the perfect coming together place for our three families, ages ranging from 3yo to 80yo.Ā  We enjoyed our time making meals together in the spacious kitchen and countless hours spent outdoors - on theĀ swings, court, around the fire pit,Ā in the hot tub, and exploring the overall grounds.Ā  William was a fantastic host, so incredibly kind and thoughtful.Ā  Extremely responsive to our needs and quick to respondĀ to any question.Ā  Unfortunately it was too cold for the pool but just another reason to look forward to a future stay.

Perfect girls weekend!

The property was perfect - so much space for a group of 10 girls for the weekend. Everything was perfectly clean and the beds were super comfortable. We booked a chef to come one night and the place had everything youā€™d ever need to entertain a group for dinner. William even helped us find a new chef to come last minute when the original person we booked got sick. Will definitely stay here again!!

Gorgeous Property

William's property was a spectacular property that sits literally above the clouds (at least the bucolic cloudline in the morning that blankets the valley floor vineyards). So much space to enjoy the outside (from swings, to pickleball/basketball courts, to hikes, to the pool), and a peaceful and welcoming inside. William was also a wonderful host - very responsive and kind. 10 out of 10.

Lavender Hill House stay

Our multi-generation family group had a perfect stay at this lovely property. The quiet hilltop location felt remote and private, even though we were just minutes from Kenwood. The house is as comfortable as it is elegant with everything we needed right there. We played tennis and pickleball, made large meals together which we ate outside under the magestic oak trees, and splashed in or sat by the pool, mesmerized by the stunning views. It was conducive to connection and conversation for our group, as there was little need to leave.

Magical friends and family trip

There are no words for how stunning this property is. Everywhere you looked from floor to ceiling windows was just serene. We stayed for a weekend in May with family and friends and enjoyed every square footage. The pool, tennis courts, hot tub, outdoor BBQ/entertainment area- there was no reason to leave. We all enjoyed the peaceful fog covered mornings on the deck with our coffee, seeing if the wild turkeys were going to stop by! House was immaculate, felt like I was living in a show home. All the bedrooms were private with comfortable beds. William was the best host I have ever encountered. Also quick to answer me, and always with a phone call even if I was interrupting his personal life. Hope to stay here again! Such a beautiful serene property!!

Daveā€™s 60th Birthday

This home surpassed our expectations! Set on a hillside with amazing views, Lavender Hill House is enchanting. Peacocks and turkey stroll thru the yard, as you sit by the pool or play a game of corn hole. We cooked amazing meals and dined Al fresco. Hiked the hills to find a lush olive grove - just minutes from the Sonoma County vineyards. The home is well stocked for entertaining, comfortable and beautifully curated with art and natural curiosities. Our host was quickl to respond with any questions we may have had. I am so grateful to have found this gem! Thanks again!

Magical Getaway

We had a magical time at the lavender house. The setting views and house are next level and it doesnā€™t get much better than this. The moment we arrived we felt like we shed all our stress away! Itā€™s a little far from everything but 15 minutes from Glen Ellen grocery store. We arrived around 4ish and Christy the property manager was there for a bit cleaning but she was nice. There's something for everyone here and the house is so spacious that adults and kids definitely can have their own space. William was super conscientious and accommodating and quick to fix little issues that we had. We canā€™t wait to book our next vacation here!

Spacious Home and Property

We had a group of 8 adults and 1 infant and all fit into the home comfortably between the variety of bedrooms and seating within the house. The kitchen is huge and well stocked, and the view from the porch on a clear morning was breathtaking. The big windows make such a statement! I would suggest staying in the prime seasons because it appears prices are not much higher and you can actually use much more of the property. Our appreciation of the outdoors was limited because even the chairs in covered areas were soaked with water from the rain. We did have some problems with things not working, starting with the lock box to get into the house. The home owner is incredibly responsive and kind so it did not turn into a large issue. I am taking a star off the rating though because of the troubles we faced with a variety of broken/missing things, and a couple of people ended up sleeping on the couches because they found them more comfortable than some of the guest beds. Our schedule was much too busy to try and reach out to the owner for every little thing. Long story short, spend the money on this place when the weather makes it worth it.

It was a great stay. We rented this for my husband and I and three other couples. each couple had their own room and it is so spacious. The morning views with the am fog were beautiful and reminded me so much of my time growing up in CA. Kitchen has everything you need including pods for the Nespresso machine which was great. Linens were fresh and clean & beds were very comfortable. Lots of wildlife around the property too which was magical. Sheep, deer and wild turkeys.
