Incredible custom home is ready to be your secluded island getaway. Walk across a bridge and over a pond to get to the front door, which opens out to a breathtaking view of Mitchell Bay and beyond!

An open concept great room connects living room, dining area and gourmet kitchen in this designer showcase house. BBQ and eat outdoors while watching beautiful sunsets over the bay.

This home features a water facing master bedroom with steam shower and soaking tub. Two additional bedrooms share a large bathroom with double sinks and separate tub and shower. On the lower level, a water facing family room, attached 3/4 bath, and private deck.

Outside the home you will find a large secluded and relaxing hot tub as well as a nearby fire pit. Outside security cameras are installed on property.

There is a walking path that descends to a private community beachfront where you can dig for clams, sunbathe or picnic.

Great family island trip

High end property, in the top 5 of my all of my many VRBO stays. Host is in my top 3 hosts, super helpful and responsive. Property has lots of space, very well stocked, ocean views, and very private. Travel to island should be considered as part of trip. I will definately return again.

AMAZING STAY, AMAZING LOCATION

We had an incredible week here on San Juan Island!! The house was an amazing base for us to spend time when we weren't out exploring. Everything was as expected and the host was very accommodating. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to SJI.

Fabulous House and Location!

My family and I totally enjoyed our stay at this stunning home. It is large, on a gorgeous lot overlooking the water, and equipped with every conceivable amenity. Wonderful communication with the owner/property manager, who was incredibly helpful both before and during our stay. Would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting to stay on San Juan Island!

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful week at the Mitchell Bay Hideway! The house is truly luxurious. We spent a lot of time enjoying the water view from the deck, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare large meals. We loved kayaking in Mitchell Bay and the hot tub was a treat after busy days on the island. Dave was a very helpful, gracious host!

Stunning Property

The house is more beautiful than the pictures really a showstopper. Great amenities. The property manager was fantastic! He even picked us up at the dock and drove us to the car rental! That is what I call service!

Relaxing and Beautiful

This property was beyond my expectations, pictures don’t do it justice! House is so well maintained and in a beautiful setting. Bedding and pillows super comfortable, kitchen very well stocked. And David property manager was great at communicating with us before we arrived about activities, restaurants etc and gave us very helpful info regarding the ferries! Was sad to leave hope to make it back soon, a very special place

This home was just terrific; the pictures do not do it justice. The furnishings and accessories are clean, comfortable, not overdone. The beds very comfortable; lots of linens. It's the best appointed kitchen ever and we breakfasted on the deck every day and made dinner twice. Close to Roche Harbor and Friday Harbor...we estimate we drove on every road on the island. (Do not miss the Sculpture Garden at the entrance to Roche Harbor). As our host says, everything is no more than 20 minutes away. David was a great host...he was very responsive to questions before our visit and provided us with a great overview of the house when we arrived. I highly recommend this property. It would be great for families and especially for multiplle couples!

Relaxing well located retreat

Beautiful well maintained property with water views & access. Roomy with kitchen full of everything needed to entertain with family. Enough space for gathering but with privates spaces for those who like to sleep in or need to work during your get away. Greatly appreciated the welcome & home walk through. Location is close to everything the island offers! Only small negative is lack of air conditioning in primary bedroom...fan kept room at comfortable temp but it was difficult for allergy sufferers. Would highly recommend for family get together ir get away with friends. One of top properties we've ever stayed at! 5 stars for sure!

Best Labor Day Ever!

We were met onsite by the owner to help orient and it was so so helpful! We had everything we needed and more. Beds were so comfy...outdoor furniture the best! Kitchen...amazing! View...breathtaking...especially the sunsets. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you so so much!

Beautiful Escape

We vacationed with our grown children and their spouses and had an absolutely wonderful time. The house offers great views of the bay, is very spacious and has a fabulous kitchen. The beautiful window seat was a favorite spot for us all to take turns drinking coffee, reading, napping, or simply just relaxing. The back patio provided excellent space for us all to gather for meals and play games. Our host was top notch as well. Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our family vacation here.

Mitchell Bay paradise!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week there. Had three couples with an abundance of private space. The bathrooms were great. Evening sunsets beautiful. Amazing Vacation

Our family (my wife and children) rented this home for a week. We visited the island with parents and grandparents who stayed in another rental home a short distance away. This home exceeded our expectations and offered far more than the listing disclosed. The layout of the home and its features are perfect for a family with children. The property manager was wonderful and very responsive. I highly recommend this home. We hope to be able to rent it again in the future.

What an awesome stay on San Juan Island...

The house is awesome and the managers were wonderful to work with, and even gave us a tour of the house and its features. The spacious and well appointed kitchen was wonderful to prepare food in. The main living area was well furnished for lots of relaxation and fun, such as family playing board games. The hot tub was easy to access and definitely a hit for us. I just can't say enough good things about this place and the people who run it. It was also close to many sights, restaurants and shops. In all, this place comes with my strongest recommendation for a good time on San Juan Island.

Wonderful experience

Great property, our host David was very responsive. Kitchen is well-stocked and home was neat and clean. Lots of fun features to the home. The view from the house is spectacular. Trail to the water is a little steep. No beach but the property has a great dock and the bay is great to kayak and paddle board in. Good home for adults and teenagers. Anyone staying here will have a wonderful experience!

Beautiful home

The property and home are even more beautiful than in the photos. The host was very helpful and easy to work with and our family group had a fabulous time. Had a large, celebratory dinner and kitchen was very well equipped and HUGE. Nighttime luminescence visible in the waters off the dock was fabulous! Quiet and a bit isolated (good for us) but nothing at Friday Harbor more than 15 mins away and Roche Harbor very close. Highly recommend!!

Booked this property for our family of 6 (2 adults/4 kiddos) for 5 days over Spring Break, having stayed in 20+ VRBOs over the past handful of years this property ranks up there as one of the best! Great Property, Great Host, Great Vacation

Our family of five stayed at Mar Vista for a week in July. Everything was just as listed and the house was fantastic. The property owner, David, was in contact often, supplied discounted ferry tickets, and met us at check-in to show us around. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed for the week. If you like to cook meals for the group, you’re going to love the kitchen. The beds were comfortable, the downstairs was like a second living area/master bedroom, and the deck was a great place to relax. We would not hesitate to book more visits with David at Mar Vista.

Amazing!!!

This property was incredible! The kitchen alone had so much to offer. There was so much dish ware, cookware, and appliances, not like some places where you only get one frying pan. The views are incredible. The owners take so much pride in this place and really cares about the guest. We had great contact before arriving and helped us sort out the ferry. When we arrived at the property, he showed us around and checked the hot tub chemicals while we were there to make sure everything was good to go. Everything was very clean, he checked in by text a couple times through our stay and was amazing. Cannot say enough wonderful things about this property!!

Postcard perfect and amazing!

Our family, including a teen and pre-teen, just spent several days at this beautiful home, in a stunning, picturesque, location. The house is gorgeous, immaculate, spacious, and comfortable, with an incredibly well stocked kitchen. We cancelled dinner reservations we had made in advance after arriving in order to grill, soak in the hot tub and enjoy the view off of the deck. The sun sets and glimmers off of the water, its breathtaking! David, the property owner is thoughtful, kind, caring, beyond helpful, quick to respond. He provided us with recommendations for the ferry, transportation, restaurants, hikes, things around town, etc. Met us at the house for a full tour and even gave us a ride to the Seaplane dock upon checkout too. We can't say enough wonderful things about this property, the location and David! Everything was even better than described! We were sad to leave, but look forward to another stay here someday! Thank you David!

Dream Home in A Gorgeous Setting

My spouse and I visited San Juan Island with extended family, there were 8 of us in total. We were looking for a house near the water where everyone could be comfortable and were hoping for a special experience. This home exceeded all expectations - it’s one of the nicest homes I’ve ever stayed in. It’s an easy 15 min drive from the harbor ferry, the turn off the main road took us past gorgeous horse farms and into a wooded setting. We knew we were going to enjoy ourselves as we pulled up to the house and saw the beautiful entry. There is a great room with a long lovely window seat, comfy couches with a tv and fireplace, a dining area and a cook’s kitchen. There is a nice view of Mitchell Bay and you can watch the sunset. Every kitchen tool and appliance you could possibly need is available, there are 2 islands, sub zero fridge and freezer and a massive double oven and stove with professional hood. This was perfect for our family as we all love to cook together and had plenty of room to enjoy that. There is a large deck with another fireplace and a massive bbq grill, a hot tub down the stairs, and a fire pit in the backyard. You walk down the hill and there are kayaks you can launch into a gentle bay that you can paddle out to deeper waters. The bedroom and bathrooms were all wonderful as well. The property manager David was very nice. He was extremely helpful, easy to work with and helped us with deeply discounted ferry tickets. I highly recommend this home.

Perfect getaway

Mar Vista is the perfect place for a getaway in the San Juan Islands. The house is as listed and more. David gave us a tour of the place as well as recommendations on the island. Would definitely stay here again!

Super spacious home with the best sunset views!

We all enjoyed this oversized home with the most spacious deck, perfect for sunset dinners outside. Loved kayaking around the bay right from the house. This house is stocked with literally everything you could possibly need. David went above and beyond with helpful itinerary information, ferry discounts, and all other communications. You’d be foolish to pass up this property!!
