Waterview in Town! Located a few blocks from the ferry landing; this newly built, cozy and modern unit has everything you will need to enjoy Friday Harbor.

Cannery Inn - Hyak is one of 4 rooms for rent in the Cannery Inn building. The Hyak room offers a water-view and is ideal for guests seeking outdoor activities, shopping, dining and everything else the island has to offer. Also perfect for the boater who wants to regain their land legs, as the stairs down to the Port of Friday Harbor are only a few yards away.

This unit is equipped with a mini-Keurig (coffee pods are provided upon check-in) microwave, mini fridge, full bath, queen bed, Wi-Fi and flat screen Satellite TV. Guests are also welcome to relax and take in the magnificent views from the common deck area. There is a smaller deck area attached to the unit if you are seeking more privacy. For groups larger than 2, please contact San Juan Property Management about booking additional units.

Downtown Friday Harbor is one short block away from the Cannery Inn. Guests can take a short stroll down the hill to visit some of Friday Harbor's best coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and parks.

We stayed for two days in August and found this property conveniently located and with all the amenities we needed. Access was easy and the management team responsive. Everything was so clean - loved it!

Overall a great place to stay. There needs to be better insulation for the noise. We could hear a muffled conversation from the next door room. We also were hoping for a later check out 10am is early. We travel all over the world this was our first stay that had such an early check out. Other than that we completely recommend it!

Location of property was great! Views amazing and walkable to everything you could need. Parking wasn't hard, even without designated spot. Walls of rooms are very thin, but property did have earplugs if youre a light sleeper.

Beautiful view of Friday Harbour!

Very nice 3 night stay here. Conviently close to Friday Harbour. Walked into town to do everything but tour the island. A little small if you are a larger build but quaint, clean, and convenient. Parking was easy as well.

I Recommend this to anyone

My sister lives on the island and said this was an abandoned building. They did a great job restoring it. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. The deck had a tremendous view over looking the harbor. It was close to down town and I recommend VIC's for breakfast (only open M-F).

Short Friday Harbor Getaway

We stayed 2 nights (Wed/Thurs) in mid-July. Wonderful, clean, quiet room with an unbeatable view of Friday Harbor. Nice private balcony. Only suggestions would be to install some room darkening roman shades on the balcony doors (room was WAY too bright for us early in the morning!) and provide some larger/plusher bath towels. Nit-picky stuff...we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. Excellent for the price.

Everything was great except super thin walls. Can hear everything if you know what I mean. No sleep and very annoying. If your neighbors are respectful Iā€™d imagine it would be great.

I brought my own ā€œcoffeeā€ filled tea bags that I travel with occasionally. My favorite part was the balcony overlooking the marina and the communal patio with marina view as well. I donā€™t think another place has such a great view for coffee in the morning!

Comfy nook with excellent view & location

We stayed 3 nights. This is a house divided into 4 units. The first night, people were in 2 of the other units. It sounded like our neighbors were talking to usā€” and they used regular voice volume. Fortunately, the owner had a noise machine & ear plugs which really helped. The othe 2 nights we had the place to ourselves. Other than the risk of noise, this is a stunning choice. Incredible view; great restaurants within 1 block; kayaking & whale watching trips from the marina at the bottom of the stairs. One other thingā€” it is about the size of a nice hotel room. One room & bathroom with entry hall. The outside areas (private deck & large shared deck) give more space but it could feel small if youā€™re stuck there during rainy weather.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Aesthetically, this place is super cute and really clean. We stayed in the Hyatt room and the deck was awesome with a beautiful view of the harbor. Unfortunately, thatā€™s where the good things end. ..- This building was NOT built to be a ā€˜hotelā€™. The walls are super thin, but even worse, the doors are hollow core with a huge gap between the door and the floor. We could make out every word of every conversation that all 3 of our ā€˜roommatesā€™ said. Luckily, weā€™re heavy sleepers, so it didnā€™t disrupt our sleep, but I donā€™t know that our ā€˜roommatesā€™ all had the same experience. Management is obviously aware itā€™s an issue because thereā€™s a bucket of earplugs in the room!! Wow! - Entry to the hotel is managed by a keypad. Which was not unique in any way. I easily figured out the pattern and knew what everyoneā€™s code was (tested the theory on the main door, not the individual doors). That would be fine...except there wasnā€™t a deadbolt on the door! If I had been staying alone, I would not have felt safe knowing if anyone else figured out the super simple pattern, they could easily be in my room. Eeek.- While there were blinds on the deck doors for privacy, they didnā€™t block a single ounce of light. Simply hanging blackout curtains or replacing the blinds that are there with blackout blinds would make a huge difference. We were up at 5am when the sun came up whether we wanted to be or not. So, all of that being said, if youā€™re ok with the few negative things Iā€™ve listed above, itā€™s a cute little place in a good location. We will definitely be back to Friday Harbor, but we will not be returning to the Cannery Inn until they fix the list above.

Easy to get to, I recommend using the sidewalks and not the stairs.The room is all updated but no air conditioner. Not really needed on the island however, we like to sleep cold. Would have appreciated a screen across the balcony doors when we left them open at night. It is very quiet on the island after 9pm but the Inn has thin walls. So, ladies if you are a screamer, and you know what I mean 😉, be mindful of your neighbors or don't rent here!

It was a fantastic experience: the Cannery Inn was easy to locate, room access was straightforward, and the room itself was clean and modern. The rental company was very communicative with directions and access instructions before and during our stay. The outdoor patio has a great view of the harbor and all the outdoor gardens were beautifully maintained. A great stay at a great place!
