This delightful casita is tucked away in a quiet corner of a larger gated compound called Villa Ladera and Casitas. A lush pathway leads you through a beautiful gated entrance and into the first of your two patios, which features a massive two story queen palm, heated plunge pool and hanging Mexican stars.

Beyond this, small steps under a bougainvillea tree lead up to a 400 sq ft patio complete with an outdoor dining table and chandelier for peaceful morning coffees, evening dinners or simply relaxing in the tropical air. From here, large iron and beveled glass sliding doors welcome you into your home and bring the outdoors in.

Escondida translates to "the hidden one" and this apartment is true to its name. Hidden from the cobblestone lane below, the neighbours and only a couple of blocks to the beach this apartment really does have the best location! It comes fully equipped with everything that you could need for a fabulous getaway and has become very popular for long term stays.

Nice Getaway

Great Casita close to the beach & Zona Romantica. Great location and we'll attended property. The plunge pool and outdoor spaces really made the property relaxing and comfortable. We had a great trip.

Perfect Getaway

My husband and I stayed here when we visited for a friend's wedding and for our own little honeymoon. The Casita and property as a whole was stunning. Everyone was so helpful and kind from the moment we arrived. The location was perfect for getting out and exploring Zona Romantica or walking along the beach. It was truly the perfect getaway and we didn't want to leave!!

We stayed in the studio at casa ladera for a few nights and it was our first time in PV. For LGBTQI travellers this is an amazing location close to bars and many restaurants. The hosts were fantastic and provided so much information about the area and things to do. The cleaning and grounds staff were also fantastic and we were able to organise laundry easlily for a small fee too. Would recommend the studio for any couples visiting PV and we will definitely be back again! Highly recommended.

Stunning property, fantastic staff, and the kindest most gracious owners I've ever had the opportunity to meet! Scott and Doug are fantastic, their dog Gordito is the icing on the cake! The condo is beautifully appointed and comfortable, with 2 beautiful outside seating areas and a stunning little private pool. The staff were so hospitable, eager to answer questions and respond to any requests that were made. I honestly can't say enough about them, they truly are gems! I was planning our next visit before our first had even ended!

Excellent set up ... a cozy, private retreat

Our family had reserved this studio in addition to the adjoining main house for all of us to stay together. Worked out beautifully with a perfect balance of social and private space. Self contained and well appointed, really suited us well but would also be a great space on its own. Private deck and dipping pool were a nice alternative to heading to beach. Owners are lovely and have the cutest pup for 3 zones !!!

We had a wonderful stay at La Casita Escondida. We were greeted with a lovely spread of guac, chips, & a margarita which was perfect because it was so hot. Isela was super responsive to our questions & requests, our space & the communal spaces were always super clean. Our little plunge pool was the perfect little hidden oasis to escape the heat & have quiet time. We recommend staying here--it was located near night life, restaurants, etc. Always felt safe. If you want more bars/night life they are only a 20 minute walk or a 5-10 minute cab ride away. The beach is also a 5 minute walk away. Great stay!

Perfect and Private

Truly a gem in zona romántica! Check in was simple between Isela and Abel! We were also lucky enough to have fresh guacamole waiting from Dair (possibly the best I’ve ever had). I can’t say enough good things about the whole experience but here’s what you, the reader, care about;The place is a wonderful couples get away. It’s extremely private, especially for PVR. It’s clean, roomy and has everything you’ll need. If not, Abel is your guy!The pool is heated to a perfect temperature, you’ll never want to leave. Stairs to the beach just left of Almar. Barely 5 minute walk to first breakfast spot, back down the road. We walked everywhere but there’s almost always a cab right outside the front gate if desired. Night in the casita was completely quiet, out in the pool you mostly hear the waves on rolling onto the beach, very little city noise. We will absolutely be back again.

Perfect For Us

We ( a couple in our mid 50's) had the pleasure of staying at Casa Ladera in early March. It was a great choice in every respect. If you are looking for comfort, relaxation, and a chilled out experience then Casa Ladera delivers. This property is exactly as advertised. Clean, comfortable, quiet and in a great location. Five minute walk to the heart of old town, but far enough away to enjoy quiet and solitude if you choose. The apartment and all the amenities were simply perfect. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and responsive. Muchas gracias to Mark, Keith, Toby (woof!) and all of the staff at Casa Ladera for a great experience. Saludos! Ed and Linda

Comfy little studio in a great area. Almost perfect stay

We flew down to PV to join with friends from BC for a birthday celebration and quiet getaway. Upon arrival we were nicely greeted by Keith and Toby ( Mark had just had back surgery but still managed to greet us as well) and we liked the location and the little studio very much. After having had a cancelled flight the evening before and not much sleep we were looking forward to a great nights sleep to wake up refreshed and ready to go. Unfortunately for us that did not occur! There is a building next door with a very narrow tiled stairway between and guests next door had the tv on so loud that even with earplugs it was as if they were in the room with us! That went on until almost 1:00 AM. We regretfully had to complain and Mark handled it promptly and it was better afterward but I feel I had to mention it as no other reviews mentioned noise. That said it IS Mexico which is not especially quiet anyway! Mark and Keith are wonderful hosts and people and very helpful as well as Patricia the housekeeper and the grounds staff as well. As mentioned in other reviews this property is at the top of a pretty steep calle and several steps up to the apartment. We are both pretty fit so no worries for us but if you have mobility issues this may not be your spot. We also really appreciated the dipping pool and lush little patios. Before we departed the villa on the top level became available to view and... OMG... it is stunning!! If you had 2 or 3 couples to share it you would be in heaven! All in all our stay was fun and pleasant and I sincerely hope our noise issues were a one off. I would certainly have given 5 stars had it not set us off on a rough note! peace and quiet in PV

We spent our first 2 weeks at Casa Ladera in the old town of Puerto Vallarta. The hosts where so welcoming and friendly. The villa is only a few blocks from the beach, but has a bit of a hill from town to the villa. After a few days of walking the hill it didnt seem to be an issue for us. There were plenty of places to eat at night and lots of small grocery stores to buy your daily needs. We took care of breakfast and lunch and ate out at night. I would definitely recommend Casa Ladera and know that anyone going there will have a blast. Terrific place.

Quiet and Close to Restaurants/Beach

Apartment met all of our expectations and the owners were great hosts. You can walk to the beach, mini-mart for groceries and to restaurants in 10 - 15 minutes. We would definitely return. Thanks for everything!

Fabulous, central, quiet & comfortable

The Ladera apartment is just right - we stayed for a week and loved it. Had great times out at the beach and food recommendations were spot on. The patios and the little pool are also perfect for lounging and being quiet off the beach. We really enjoyed every minute here. Bed was super comfortable, had everything you need. Highly recommend it.

Toby, Location, and Private

What an excellent stay my husband and I had with Casa Ladera! We especially were delighted by the location, private pool, proximity to the beach, and incredible, private and well appointed spaces. Goldilocks stayed here

Not too big not too small. Everything you need nothing you don't. Its very close to the beach and the shops and restaurants so you can eliminate the rental car and cab fares from your vacation budget. The most awesome feature of this charming place is the wonderful owners who live in the next door unit. Why are they great? My wallet was stolen three quarters of the way through my trip and they made it a point to help me out. Mark and Keith could not have done more. I highly recommend them and this place to you!

Love Puerto Vallarta

This was our second time stay with Mark and Keith. Wonderful people who are very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Our unit was very private and we often spent most of the day if not on the patio then in our pool.

Great location. Excellent hosts

We stayed here for 5 days in Feb and really enjoyed this little getaway in Zona Romantica. We could walk everywhere and the beach was just a few minutes away. Our hosts provided a list of great restaurants and tour companies that we can trust, and they turned out to be awesome recommendations. We had plenty of privacy and didn't feel too secluded. There was some nearby construction noise that some people might find bothersome, however it ended around 5 PM. Ultimately it wasn't much of a problem because we spent a lot of time exploring PV during the day. Will definitely return.

Excellent getaway for 2 right in old town.

My wife and I spent 2 weeks in the Casa Ladera apartment. It was the perfect spot for us being so close to everything. The beach, great restaurants, shops ... all we needed was just minutes away - but when we returned to the apartment it all felt miles away. The apartment is well furnished, comfortable and oh so quiet and safe. The little dipping pool is a treat after a hot day away from the room wandering the beach and streets to see and experience all that old PV has to offer. We walked pretty much everywhere. Patti, our maid, made sure the room was properly cleaned and stocked each day with fresh towels and drinking water. The owners live there and gave us great advice for all the questions we had recommending the best restaurants, a well stocked market just down the street and activities to explore while there. Our day trip and hike from Boca del Tomatlan to Los Animas beach and back was especially enjoyable if you like hiking. We walked the Malecon most everyday with so much to see and enjoy. The only advice would be that for those with mobility issues the cobblestone streets and steep stairs to the beach would be a challenge. For us it was great. Thank you Mark and Keith.

Great place equals a great time!

We recently stayed at Casa Ladera in the smallest studio apartment. We found it to be perfect in terms of everything we needed for our 2 week stay. Well equipped, and, as promised a lot of luxury for a little price. Close proximity to restaurants, beaches and activities, but set off enough to offer privacy and quiet evenings if you so choose. The owners are excellent hosts as well as readily available to assist with any questions or concerns you may have. They also supplied us with a list of dining and activities close at hand and further away. We would highly recommend staying here! James & Dwight
