Manresa Meadows is a very special vacation rental on beautiful acreage just one block from Manresa State Beach. Meander down one of the wildflower lined paths through beautiful acres of meadow to the private eucalyptus-shaded picnic area, complete with fire pit teak picnic tables and chairs. Owls and a variety of interesting birds are frequently seen in the trees surrounding this part of the estate. Follow the path to high ground for a spectacular view of Monterey Bay.

Tranquil views of meadow and farmland from the hot tub, master bedroom, and main deck. Expansive upper and lower decks, indoor and outdoor dining, BBQ, hot tub, wide-screen TV and comfortable great room design make Manresa Meadows a superior vacation home.

Pet-friendly Manresa Meadows offers activities for the whole family. Fido is welcome in the house, or can enjoy the two doghouses in the 400 sq. ft. concrete-surfaced dog run, or rove over the fully fenced two acres of meadowland.

Manresa Meadows is on the Pacific Coast Bicycle Route, just south of La Selva Beach a short block’s walk from Manresa State Beach. Activities nearby include beachcombing on miles of white sandy shoreline, kayaking and wildlife viewing at Elkhorn Slough, hiking and mountain biking at Nicene Marks State Park, dining at Sanderling’s restaurant at Seascape Resort, and golfing at Seascape Golf Course in nearby Aptos. Monterey is 31 miles to the south, and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a short 14-mile drive.

Amazing property and great location. Only complaint is the check in process. You have to pick up and drop off keys at the property management office which is about 10 minutes away. This is a first, as I’ve always had either a keypad or a lockbox. Not terrible, but inconvenient nonetheless. Other than that, everything was great. Don’t forget to bring extra towels for the hot tub and the beach!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful home for an adult family get together with pets. All rooms had very comfortable beds with king or queen size. Bathrooms for the bedrooms both had showers. The 2 downstairs bedrooms have access to the outdoor meadow which was perfect for us. The home is also a quick walk to the beach. The welcome letter and binder included all the information needed. Kitchen was supplied with what we needed to cook meals. The home was beautiful and very comfortable; we had a wonderful time walking along the beach and relaxing together. I'd definitely recommend.

Dog Disneyland

Amazing location near the beach with vast stunning views. Huge backyard that has no foxtails and park setting with a long path and soft grass. We planed to spend most of the time on the beach, but our dog had such a fantastic time running around in the backyard, that we ended up sitting outside and watching her play. She was exploring, jumping, running, and having an amazing time. Patio is overlooking the acreage, so we saw her all the time. Hot tub is amazing.Owners live next door and are very friendly and helpful. Check in process is unusual: we had to pick up and drop off the keys from a different location instead of a lockbox with code at the house, like all other places that we stayed at.

Very convenient access to the nearby beach. Bedrooms and kitchen were great. Showers outdoors for cleaning up after the beach. Garage access for vehicle was great too. Property management was very responsive after we did not receive the check in email and mgmt company was closed on a Sunday. Thank you Lisa for the quick resolution. Few items that could make the property even better... The tv in the living room was very small. For how far the couch is away, the TV should be much bigger. Really no staples in the kitchen - salt and pepper only. Water heater seems too small, as if family all took showers, the hot water ran out. Ticks are an issue, but mgmt clearly outlines this ahead of time.Hot tub was very enjoyable after a day hiking or on the beach. Live that the house is dog friendly with included dog beds too! Nice stay in Santa Cruz.

Your own oversized dog park near the beach.

We initially chose the property for the dogs, but keep coming back for the “everything”. It doesn’t just allow dogs, it gifts your dogs with their own private HUGE dog park. Peaceful surroundings. Listen for the owls in the eucalyptus trees at night. Hot tub has always been functional, clean and hot.

Proximity to the beach is amazing. 2 acres of fully fenced “doggy Disneyland” can’t be beat. House is comfortable.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Amazing location, the beach is a short walk. Keep in mind, this is a dog friendly property. You may find dog hair here and there. The description said 2 king, 1 queen bed. Its actually 1 king and 2 queens. The hot tub would not heat up properly. Luke warm. The home is comfortable, and the view and decks are wonderful, along with lots of comfortable outdoor furniture. Hoping the cleaning crew can step it up as we would like to return.

Wonderful Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family really enjoyed our stay at Manresa Meadows. If you’re okay with foregoing an ocean front rental, this location is unbeatable. It offers privacy and amazing views, we stargazed from the hot tub every night. Our kids and our dog loved the little trails through the property and being fully fenced it was very secure. The walk to the beach was an easy 5 minutes, however once you get to the trail that leads directly down to the beach it is a little rough going down and may be difficult for the elderly or those who are less mobile. The home was clean and the layout of the home makes it feel very spacious. Some of the things about the property that we especially appreciated: amazing water pressure in the showers, large showers, multiple tables/counters, outdoor hoses/showers in multiple locations to rinse feet/paws, smaller fenced in dog area for middle of the night potty breaks, beach chairs in the garage, clean hot tub, easy to operate blinds, expansive deck. Things we think could be improved at this property: we had trouble getting water to boil on the stove so our Italian dinner took hours to prepare...I think the gas burners aren’t very powerful, a wider selection of pillows on the beds(some people prefer flat pillows to over-stuffed. The house is not very evenly heated, with the master bedroom receiving the majority of heat while ground floor rooms remained on the cooler side. We finally closed the vent in the master and that helped but before that it was like a sauna. Overall, this property is wonderful, really unique and private and we would definitely stay again. we met the property owner who lives next door and he was very friendly and I could tell he likes kids by the way he chatted with my 8 year old. I suspect he has grandkids of his own!

They work well around the couches and solve the awkward coffee table being hard to reach.Another suggestion resulting from our experience in the "Master" bath/shower is to add grab bars. Several of the floor tiles in the bathtub "floor" are slippery and we were very uncomfortable in the shower. Maybe it was because we have reached our 80s?Looking forward to returning next year. Spacious, dog friendly home near the beach

Spacious home, kitchen was well stocked with utensils and tableware but almost no staples or condiments. For example a coffe maker, electric kettle and French press but no coffee or tea. Large lots has wide, hard packed trails that invite you to wander to the strategically placed benches and enjoy the view. Very dog friendly. Really enjoyed both the fire pit and hot tub. Even though the owner uses a property management company, he really was happy for us to call him directly and he promptly took care of our concerns. Overall a very good experience.

Great house on pretty acreage with good views. Out of the hustle and bustle of Santa Cruz and a block or so from the beach. We loved using the hot tub after the beach and perusing the pretty backyard. We didn't bring our pups but they would've been safe and really would've enjoyed it. Bob, the owner, lives next door and was very helpful when needed but otherwise unobtrusive. We will find our way back here!

So much room

We did find a few ticks on him, so thank you for the warning. We were a bit surprised by the angle of the driveway. The picture made it look flat. The house was stocked with everything that was promised. We would definitely stay again. It was very easy to get the keys/ opener. The only issue was that the owner was in the yard almost every day working/ watering. We didn’t feel like we had much privacy. He never told us that he was coming or going.

We're close enough to enjoy all that Santa Cruz and Monterey have to offer — sightseeing, biking, surfing, hiking, beachcombing — and come home to tranquility and natural beauty.
