Not a One Bedroom

The location and resort are great. The beach is easy to access and great for kids. But this is not a one bedroom. It is a studio. The kitchen, living room and beds are all in the same room. I booked hoping to have separate space from sleeping kids but it isn’t setup that way. You’re all always in one room.

No help for broken toilet

We didn't let it ruin our vacation, but the toilet inside the unit was broken throughout our entire stay. There was no response from the owner after reaching out as soon as we checked in.

Wonderful Family Vacation

Overall the property and grounds were beautifully maintained with easy beach access. My family loved the proximity to the pool & beach. The hotel staff were warm and friendly every time we interacted with them. My husband and I enjoyed daily jogs through the pathways along the beach. I highly recommend the free trolley which comes right to the hotel to explore the rest of the town. The view from our unit was amazing. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable, with an adequate supply of bath towels for the week. I highly recommend staying on an upper floor level for the views. I was so appreciative of the little things like decent beach chairs, boogie board extra goggles, & cooler. The kitchen was well stocked with necessities to do all of of our cooking. The only cons to our unit were running toilet & main kitchen light which was out from the beginning of our stay. Other than that, we had a wonderful time at the Maui Kaanapali Villas.

Excellent! Great place with totally amazing views!

My wife and myself stayed here for our seventh wedding anniversary. We were married in Maui and wanted this to be a very comfortable relaxing time and it was more that expected. We truly enjoyed our stay here. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped to prepare meals and the appliances were new and clean. For a good night sleep the bed/s and bedding were the best. They were so comfortable my wife slept 10 to 14 hours a night. The views for the lanai were amazing. The unit is on the 5th floor with a magnificent view of the ocean. We just sat with our morning coffee and enjoyed the views as well as o Assisi also whales going by. There is a great jacuzzi tub as well as a rain shower head after a long day at the beach and pool. The property itself is absolutely wonderful. You feel as if you are at a Hawaiian retreat. It does not feel commercial or “big” at all. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is just perfect and never crowded. There is a hot tub connected to the pool which is just right. We did not eat at the onsite restaurant (Castaway) but from the crowds eating there and what we were told it was fantastic food. The property has grills which we used to cookout. They were never crowded and brand new. They are kept spotless as well. We loved the new workout room and used it every day. There are free weights as well as Precor equipment, treadmills, bikes, gliders, rowing machine, etc. The weight room looks brand new and spotless. These units are most all privately owned so the property is very quaint and everyone Including staff and residents very friendly. The property sits right on the beach which is one of the nicest beaches on the island. You can also sit in one of the loungers on the well-manicured lawn next to the ocean for a great sunset. One of the nicest things is that the property never seemed crowded or busy although being full. It is very quaint and Hawaiian. One more thing. There is great tasting coffee each morning provided. We will certainly be back! Tom and Kathy

Non responsive but nice place

If it wasn’t for the garbage disposal not working, I would have given it 5 stars. The location is great, the place is clean and beds are comfortable. But the garbage disposal didn’t work from the moment we arrived. We called the front desk at 7 am on morning and they said the owners would be buying a new one to replace it, and that they must have known it was an issue. By 2:30 pm no one had come so I called again and they said they would follow up with the owners again. We never heard from anyone. By the third day it smelled so bad, and we could barely use the kitchen sink since it wasn’t draining well. Not being able to use the full extent of the kitchen and having it smell so bad and the owners not taking care of it made it as not so pleasant stay. If the owners would have taken care of this I would have given it 5 stars still as things happen, but the fact that they didn’t was really disappointing.

A fun working vacay for

Stay was fun. Resort can be a little touristy when I prefer nature, but you are a short drive from beautiful parks up the road. There is a very nice snorkel reef right off the beach in front. A walk to black rock beach. Internet WiFi was fast 250mbps as my friend had to work. Coffee provided each morning. Nice pool and hot tub.

Back to basics

Great location, great property, great view from our balcony, helpful staff, and super clean. However, the condo could use some basics like, a cutting board, cooking oil, and pillow cases for the extra pillows that were in the closet.

This is a lovely property with a beautiful view towards the ocean. We were very pleased with all amenities in the condo as well as the property, activities there, pool, and access to the beach. We would definitely return to this property on our next visit to Maui.

wonderful stay in a great location

I love this complex and this unit is great. The unit itself is nothing fancy but meets all the basic needs with 2 very comfy queen beds. and has a great view of the ocean from the 5th floor. Great onsite amenities- spa, water equipment rental and restaurant/bar onsite make it more like a hotel than just a condo complex. The property is on the Kaanapali boardwalk which is a lovely walk along the shore for approx 3 miles. The property manager was delightful and fast to respond. Very accommodating. I'll be back!

Great place

We had a small set back when we initially arrived but the property owner was very responsive and efficiently solved the problem. The apartment is very nice, a little old fashioned but comfortable. The apt is in a complex with 2 pools and beach access, which I was not aware of based on the listing. Highly recommended.
