Beautiful Ocean View

We enjoyed our stay at 309a! The view from the balcony was beautiful, the keypad instead of keycards was so nice to enter the condo, and the stairs the elevator was close to the condo entrance as well! I also appreciated that the bedrooms also have box fans provided as they helped keep the rooms slightly cooler. We did have to call maintenance two times about the dryer not drying, but the maintenance man was friendly and prompt both times. Booking this condo is super easy and I felt the price for the accommodations was reasonable. Lastly, the on premises restaurant is a wonderful place to eat, with gluten free options for my dietary needs as well! The staff at Splash By the Sea were so friendly, I highly recommend trying it! The only thing I would recommend is in the off season maybe touching up the paint in a few places in the condo to freshen it up a bit! Otherwise it was a very nice condo with ample room for the 4 of us during our stay. Will definitely consider renting again!

Check-in was fine, easy enough. The entire condominium building could really use a facelift. The unit itself was very different than what we expected based on photos. A lot of wear and tear, damage to paint, cracks in the tiles and floors, mold around faucets and in the grout/bathrooms. It has so much potential but really fell short of expectations. We were also surprised at the lack of cleanliness. When we arrived, the unit smelled heavily of cigarette smoke (perhaps the owners of the unit and not neighbors as suggested, because the smell was seeped into furniture and carpets and walls). It mostly dissipated after a few days of candles and the fans running, but FYSA if you are sensitive. Dishes were still in the dishwasher from the prior stay and the coffee pot hadn’t been washed. The one bathroom lacked hand soap, which was addressed by the property manager. One of the shower curtains was pretty badly molded (which was also addressed by the property manager on our second day). One of the tubs wouldn’t drain, so they came and addressed that. Light bulbs out throughout the unit. A broken lamp in the master bedroom that worked but just looked raggedy. A freezer that was over freezing and an absolute mess to put anything in. Pretty stocked but dated kitchen (a lot available but all very heavily used and showing wear). Just left a lot to be desired overall, despite responsiveness of Sol. Needs a deep clean. Would not stay again or recommend the unit to friends or family.

What a relaxing getaway

When we book this vacation, I picked it purely due to location because we had a soccer tournament immediately following it. I quickly fell in love with this property and island. You cannot go wrong staying here. It is beautiful, has amazing views and makes you feel like you’re right at home. I would highly recommend this to anybody looking having a relaxing vacation or getaway with your family.

Condo/pool/beach/restaurant excellent

Inside the condo was beautiful, furnished well and had everything we needed. Plenty of hot water, four of us took showers right after the other and never ran out of hot water. Pool area was gorgeous!! Maintenance was there early every morning to clean and set the area back up for the day. The beach was beautiful, clean and not crowded. Tons of shells to collect. We ate at the restaurant two nights and the food was good and very convenient to have the restaurant on the property. The only negative comments we have…. In the condo we had the air down to 65, very cool downstairs but very stuffy upstairs. The air seemed to not travel up the stairs. The dryer would not dry clothes but maintenance was coming to look at it. The door to the condo had a hard time locking from the outside and the door to the balcony would stick, had to shove on it to open or close. The biggest complaint would be the exterior of the building as a whole. It needs a big facelift. Along with the interior of the restaurant they were both extremely dated. Doors, walls, elevators, luggage carts, gates, floors need repaired, scrubbed, painted or replaced. Once you get past the first impression of the building and make it to 309a you will be pleasantly pleased and will enjoy your stay.

Great Views and a Beautiful Property

We will be staying again, great views, beautiful property. Condo was exactly what we needed for our larger size family and they had everything you needed to cook with. Bonus: Captain Long Whiskers (Jumpy), Jill, WiFi in unit, great communication and the friendliness of the of staff of Villa.

Would highly recommend. Condo was awesome, the resort was great and the restaurant/bar was incredible. We do plan on going back. Thanks to all the people that made our trip enjoyable.

Excellent Accommodations

This is an excellent location and unit. Super clean, plenty of space for the kids to stretch out (bedrooms upstairs was outstanding). Great views, wonderful restaurant, kids loved the pool, and super easy access to the beach. Looking forward to a return trip.

Quiet spot right on the beach

The property is a little older but the unit itself has been updated and is lovely. Views of both the pools and the ocean from the balcony. There is a washer and dryer, but the dryer does take some time. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes to cook. There is a delicious restaurant with good service and lovely views right on site. There isn’t a lot of other things right by the property, but there’s a lot in surf city about 20 minutes away. Or Sneads ferry about 10 minutes away. Unless there is holiday traffic! Plan ahead and grab some groceries. Plan to stay on the beach and have dinner at home. The beach here even over Memorial Day was never crowded and was beautiful. The water was clean and clear but bring some beach shoes there are some areas with lots of shells.

Worst property manager I’ve ever dealt with

Several weeks before we checked in, I confirmed with the host that there would be enough wrist bands because we had a full house. I was assured there would be. Upon arrival- there was a hole in the ceiling, a whole in the floor, the freezer had food left in it and ice all inside it. The host later informed us that the washer didn’t work. We only were provided three wrist bands. The host shared, and property has signs everywhere, that bands must be worn at all times- it’s how you access the beach. When I reached out for resolution, the host was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I’ve stayed in several rentals and never dealt with worse. I had to ask several times about the laundry before someone was sent out. A solution for the bands was never provided. The host told us to share. You have no cell service on the beach so we weren’t able to enjoy unless we were all going together. Unacceptable treatment of renters and I’ll never rent from her again!

You Sure We’re in NC?

This property looked like a villa in Tuscany! Beautiful pool, restaurant, and beach area. Very clean and well maintained!

Beautiful condo in amazing location!

We loved our stay here. The complex was amazing - the pools and hot tubs are so nice to have right there. There are wristbands to get in and out of the pool and beach access, so it felt very safe. Restaurant on site was great too. The kitchen had most necessary things, but there wasn’t a great roasting pan, only a few small ones that were not nonstick. Also there wasn’t a lot of extra - silverware was limited, and no extra blankets besides quilts on the beds, etc. Everything was clean and well kept. We would definitely stay here again!

Beach Stay

We enjoyed our month on Topsail. This third floor condo has great views from the balcony and second story master bedroom. Morning coffee on the "veranda" and walks on the beach were perfection. This is a good space, the bedding and furniture are comfortable. On the down side, much of the inner workings of this condo need maintenance or updating. Hopefully this is the plan for the rest of the off season. There is not an indoor pool at this facility and the hot tubs were not fully functional.

Resort Feel

We have been renting homes along the coast for 20+ years and tried a condo this time. The grounds have a resort feel with multiple pools, palm trees, on-site restaurant, and easy access to a un-crowded beach. There were a lot of families with young children, and seats were “saved” around the pool areas, so we just went to the beach instead. Surf City and Sneads Ferry were close by and offered options for dinner. The condo was nicely decorated with beach themed colors, the bed was comfortable, the view from the terrace was great and private, and as described the top floor unit was quiet. The condo is an income property and could use some TLC, and needs a thorough cleaning- we found moldy food under furniture. Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed the great views!

Short Getaway

Villa Capriani was an excellent place to stay. The pools were great for the kids and the beaches were never crowded. The restaurant at the hotel was very good and we enjoyed the live music. The unit we stayed in was very nice. Loved the updated decor and amazing Ocean views! I would just recommend bringing some box fans as the air would only go down to 70 and the unit did not have any ceiling fans. Was very stuffy at times. I would definitely stay here again!
