Sugarfoot Escape is our familyā€™s name for our dream beach condo located in Phase II of Summer House on Romar Beachā€” a terrific location in Orange Beach, Alabama (AL).

With a wide private beach, fantastic amenities, and super convenient location, Summer House has been a top favorite destination for beach goers.

Unit 1502B checks all the boxes having an incredible private patio, exceptional unobstructed Gulf views, large bedrooms, and recent luxury updates.

We also love the fact that we are located on the top floor which removes the noise above and also means that when you call an elevator, it is likely showing up empty ready to go!

With a recent deep renovation and update including all new flooring, colors, furniture and appliances.

Sugarfoot Escape has 200MB/10MB dedicated high speed internet with solid reception inside and out on the patio. This also means that if you log into our updated televisions for some Netflix or Hulu, that you can actually watch your show! We have the Enhanced Dish package for all TVs providing live television channels and On Demand programming. The family room is equipped with a Bluetooth capable Dolby Digital Surround Sound System for your enjoyment with the Samsung 65" Smart TV.

In the kitchen, we've refreshed the cookware and utensils as well as a have installed new Stainless Steel KitchenAid appliances, including a French door fridge, well featured large convection oven, and a super quiet dishwasher. In addition, we installed a commercial grade Manitowoc 50# per day gourmet ice machine (new 2023). Our family cooks here, we have all the things a cook would require, stainless cookware, Pyrex, measuring tools, mixing bowls, spatulas, dicers, etc. This is not ā€œcommonā€ for OBA rentals. This is our second home.

The master has a spectacular view, a comfy king size bed, and en suite updated bathroom with updated cabinets, granite, and frame-less glass. We just upgraded our furniture and mattress as well as new blackout window treatments to go along with our new sliding glass door!

Sugarfoot Escape has a second King bedroom that also just got a furniture, mattress, and decor update. There is a Samsung smart TV above the dresser.

There is a third large bedroom with 2 queen beds with a Samsung smart TV and a spare pre-wired HDMI for the gaming stations your kids will likely bring.

These two bedrooms are conveniently located on a connecting hallway to the second bathroom which is also updated with granite and frame-less glass.

Our unit is unique having a tankless hot water heater that keeps up with the shower queue before dinner (vs standard 30 gallon tank heaters) . We love our tankless hot water! We also have a dehumidifier installed in our AC closet which helps it be noticeably more comfortable.

Summer House is a convenient shuttle stop to get to places like FloraBama! With restaurants, grocery, convenience, and liquor stores right nearby, it is hard to beat this location. More importantly, the private beach access is on the BEST stretch of sand in Orange Beach.

NOTE: Summer House has a strict ā€œ2 Vehicle Max Per Unitā€ policy and must always display the Vehicle Registration certificate in the parking lot after arrival. You will pay for your $50 parking certificate(s) per vehicle at the guard shack when you enter the property.

Donā€™t want to mess with your own beach gear? Umbrellas and chairs are available to rent from Summer House right on the beach most of the prime beach days of the year (March - October).

So what are you waiting for?! Grab your beach towel and swim suit and come dip your feet in the sugar sands of one of the most beautiful beaches on the famous Emerald coast!

Relaxing and reconnecting

The location is perfect, literally can hear the waves from the lovely veranda. The beach is easily and swiftly accessible. The apartment is fully stocked with everything - really a nice place to reconnect as a family. Super relaxing - the owners are fantastic!

Great Property, Great Location, Great Host overall wonderful

The condo, Sugarfoot Escape, was just perfect for us, beautifully decorated, cozy, comfortable, and spacious. The kitchen was very nice and well stocked with everything needed to make meals. Our view of the gulf was outstanding, we loved the huge balcony. We have to mention how comfortable the beds were giving us a great night's rest. The location right on the beach was so relaxing and fun. We were close to many restaurants and shopping venues. We want to give a huge shout out to our fantastic hosts, Paul and Carrie, they made our time at the gulf so delightful by sharing detailed information of area restaurants and activities, pointing us in the right direction.

Excellent rental!

We had a great week at the condo. The place was very clean, everything has been updated/renovated recently. The kitchen is stocked with just about anything you could need. The owners even went out of their way when I got dates confused and though we had another day in the condo. They searched around and provided us with an alternative place to stay if we wanted to stay in the area an extra day. Will be renting this unit again in the future!!

The home is beautifully decorated, well stocked and in a prime location to groceries and food. Tankless hot water ensures you all can shower and the appliances are all brand new! But what makes this home special is the owners! Paul and Carrie care about your experience and bend over backwards to ensure all your needs are met! What more could a renter ask for? This property has it all and will remain on my favorite places to stay list!

Amazing Condo

We left the cold and snowy northern climate and spent almost two months at the Sugarfoot condo. We couldnā€™t have asked for more. It is a beautifully decorated condo with a gourmet kitchen, comfortable beds and furniture. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the large private balcony gazing out at the Gulf of Mexico watching both the sunrises and sunsets. The white sandy beach was beautiful and we saw many dolphins swim by. It was paradise. A big thank you to the owners who were so nice and very easy to work with. We hope to return again next winter.

Great Experience

Our family really had a great experience here. The location of the condo was great. We never drove more than 10 min to get anything we needed - food, fun, supplies. It was all right there. The beach was great. It was no more than a 5 min walk to the beach from the condo. The condo was clean and had a lot things that you would need. Paul and Carrie were really attentive with answering questions and send a recommendation list with everything you need to know. Most of the recommendations were spot on. We will definitely return to this place next year. I thought it was perfect.

An Amazing Week!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at SugarFoot. The condo is gorgeous. The colors were so calming and relaxing. We have a memory foam bed and I always get nervous on vacation wondering if I will sleep as good. The master bed was fantastic and I slept great all week! We loved everything about the property. I loved having a crock pot for easy meals in the condo on days we didn't eat out. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need. I loved the top floor even though I'm afraid of heights! I inched my way to the balcony by the end of the week. We loved seeing dolphins, birds flying, planes, boats, and people watching. Orange Beach has captured our hearts and we will be back. Paul and Carrie are fantastic hosts and he gives great tips on the best places to eat and things to do! Thanks for a great week.

Awesome Family Vacation - Perfect Location

Owners - Very responsive to all of our questions and went above and beyond what I expected. The part that put it above everyone else was the personal touch of sending the dining recommendations. Each night out, we tried one of Paul's recommendations, which were spot on. Docs, GT on the Bay and Tacky Jacks were great! Property - Great view of the gulf and we saw dolphins each morning from the balcony. Rooms were large enough to accommodate all of our kids, including 4 teenagers in the guest room with 2 queen beds. No kid complained about the sleeping arrangements which is a first. Kitchen was well stocked for the utensils and place settings that we needed. The TVs and sound bar was a definite plus as well. Beach - Easy access and not crowded. We walked down the beach and saw the beach jammed packed with people in front of the larger properties. However, at Sugarfoot Escape, you go out to the beach walk maybe 50yds -100yds to the left and there is no one. We had our canopy setup 50 yds from the water and had no one sitting in front of us. It was great. Overall - Rating this vacation and this vacation property at 5 out of 5. Thank you Paul and Carrie for a great experience and all your flexibility!

If we could rate this beautiful home 100 stars we would have! My family and I enjoyed Sugarfoot Escape so much, it gives you that home away from home feeling. Carrie and Paul are absolutely the best!! We received a very detailed email with just about all the places they eat and shop in the area which was so helpful. Carrie also gave us the recommendation to have our anniversary dinner at Pier house and the place was great!! Every time we come to Orange beach we want to stay at Sugarfoot Escape, not only because it's beautiful but because Carrie & Paul makes the experience that much better!!!!!!

Orange Beach balcony view and more

The property was as described. All of the needs were met in the condo, supplies were great and the communication with owners was amazing. They were always quick to assist no matter what our need. View was amazing and plenty of room for our group. Parking for two cars and the security guard is very nice and helpful. Beach is clean and a lovely walk. I would have loved a hot tub aside the outdoor pool but zero complaints. We were close to everything we needed or wanted to do in the area. The condo is well planned with the two kings and two queens. It makes family stayed more accommodating for all Ages. Thanks for a womderful family vacation!

Property was so clean and beautifully furnishedā€¦ kitchen was fully equipped, owners where so friendly and they made us feel so comfortable and always ready to help us in any needs. We love this place and surely will visit again given the opportunity..

We are Paul and Carrie. We purchased our dream Penthouse condo for our family and quickly named her Sugarfoot Escape. Sugarfoot Escape is brand new on the market. We replaced the flooring, repaired walls, trim, and painted everything. We then were able to get some great furniture and decor. Since we like to cook, we updated the kitchen to what we want as our second home...appliances a chef can use. We chose KitchenAid appliances and installed a commercial ice machine. The cookware and utensils needed updates, so we got rid of most everything and outfitted it for how we live our weeks/months in Sugarfoot Escape as a family.

Our family loves the beach and salt water activities. It has always been a dream to own a family get away, aka "Escape". We loved the private large patio of this top floor condominium and we knew that Summer House was in our future! We wanted our second home to have the high quality creature comforts like our primary home so we have spent almost 2 months on renovations and updates. We would like to share our home with guests who appreciate nice things and will treat our home with a guest mindset vs a "renter".

We have paid careful attention to ensuring we have the resources to handle our family when we show up. For instance, normal 2 bath units in Orange Beach have a 30 gallon tank hot water heater. Taking the second or third shower typically is not a "hot" experience. We have installed an on demand tankless water heater that can handle all our family taking back to back showers get ready to head out for dinner! This is a subtle but key feature.

We also care about humidity in our home and have installed a dehumidifier into our plumbing infrastructure. Our goal is two fold, it enhances the comfortable feel in our home as well as it helps on the war against moist organisms and corrosion.
