Redemption Retreat at Lake Gaston

Our home has had a complete renovation. We gutted the entire thing from top to bottom. The main floor has 3 bedrooms. The master has a queen with an attached bathroom. Bedroom number 2 has a full size bed. Bedroom 3 has twin size bunk beds. Bathroom number 2 is located in the hall. The kitchen, dining and living room are all open with cathedral ceilings and gorgeous views of the lake. The living room has 5 sliding glass doors over looking the. The dining table seats 6 plus there are 3 bar-stools at the bar. Walk down the spiral staircase to a gorgeous view of the lake through the triple sliding glass doors. The den has a pull out couch, tv and poker table. Bedroom 4 with a queen bed is located beside the den and next to bathroom number three on the lower level. Outside of the home are two massive decks overlooking the lake, one on the main level and one below that walks out towards the lake. We have a 2 slip boat dock for and any toys you may bring for your stay. In the garage, we have a double kayak and a 2 person pedal boat for you to use. 
In NC it is illegal to operate any water toy without a life jacket. Life jackets are provided and MUST be worn at all times during use.

Cozy home with a beautiful property

Very well-stocked house, great location, huge yard, and great hosts! Our group had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this lakehouse!

Family Friendly

It was a great house to spend time together as a family. There were great views from the house. We went swimming by the dock! The grand kids and our grand dog loved it. We had a bonfire on the Fourth of July and loved the fireworks that were put off in the area. The neighborhood swimming area and park was great. The owners were very attentive and helpful. We made some memories during our dtay

Beautiful views

This home is beautifully situated on a quiet cove of Lake Gaston. It has everything you need for a great vacation! The house has gorgeous views of the lake, an updated kitchen, comfortable furniture and bedrooms. The dock was great for boating and fishing activities. It is covered and well maintained. The location is quiet enough to feel like you can get away from everything and close enough to nearby restaurants and a grocery store.The house was clean, well kept, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay!

Good stay

We booked this property late in the season. Great location in quiet cove. The photos were close to fully representing the house with the exception of there not being closets in two of the bedrooms. No dressers or closets in the two upstairs rooms .linens were clean and the property was well maintained in the quiet culdesac. We used the kayak available and the boathouse for our rented pontoon boat. A great getaway for our family of 4 adults and 4 kids.

Nice vacation home

This house was nice. It had all the necessary things that were needed for our stay. A nice blackstone grill that was perfect for cooking and lots of fun toys to use in the lake.

Perfect for family

Loved our stay. The house is very accepting so we were not afraid to feel at home. It is a lake cottage and with that are bugs & water. Bed was comfortable. Loved all the slider doors even if it was too hot to have them open. Blackstone was fun to cook on. Enjoyed ourselves and if we come back to Gaston we would love to rent redemption retreat again!

Great property

We enjoyed our stay at this nice lake property. It was clean and worked great for our family. We enjoyed the lake view and taking the kayaks out. Ashley was super responsive.

Disappointed

The good news was our family had fun anyway, and we had mostly sunny and good weather for boating. Unfortunately the house and property did not live up to expectations or as described in listing. Advertised as 4 bedrooms, other than the Master bedroom, the other bedrooms barely passed. The 2 small upstairs rooms were TINY, no closet and no furniture other than a small night stand and barely floor room to put down a suitcase. One room had no vent and was very warm (no AC other than what drifts in from hall). The basement Queen room has no window. The basement / sitting room had a serious water problem, that was partially addressed by a phone call to owner, and the clogged AC drain was fixed, but the basement still had water seepage with rain/ evening thunderstorms. The drainage problem also resulted in the lower deck being covered with mud and completely unusable. The listing advertises "grass all the way to water" and what the reality was "mud and straw" all the way to water. Upon check in, we could not find a clean towel in the house, only to find the dryer running, completely overstuffed with towels and blankets that were not drying, presumably due to them all being used by the cleaning crew in attempt to clean up the basement mud water before we arrived. I had to go get more laundry detergent and re-wash everything in smaller loads before we had clean and unstained towels. Also the kitchen dishes were sticky and we ran them all in the dishwasher on arrival with the one dishwasher soap pod we found. I am giving the property 2 stars because the kitchen/ great room area was pleasant to sit in and look at the lake. Fortunately we were able to spend a lot of time on our boat on the water (away from the very shallow and unpleasant dock at the house).

Very nice lake property. Clean and nicely renovated. Enjoyed the quiet lake view and taking the kayaks out. Host was very responsive. Would definitely return.

Adorable retreat!

Really enjoyed out visit! Newly renovated, clean and comfy! Great location, convenient to grocery gas and restaurants - Ashley was communicative and attentive host. So many thoughtful amenities and conveniences at this home. Would def visit again!

Peaceful retreat

I was very happy to find a nice home that is pet friendly. That can be hard. I was not disappointed with the home at all - newly refurbished with nice extra touches such as free linens, firewood, flat screen tv's throughout, and premium mattress toppers. The home was clean and nicely furnished. I had some trouble using the washer/dryer and the owner responded immediately to help me. This is a great find.

Fun week at the lake!

The house is charming and in a great location on the lake. This area of the lake was not overcrowded. The home was newly renovated, very clean and comfortable. Many extra little touches to make the stay enjoyable!
