Charming Strawberry, Twin Bridges Cabin close to Sierra at Tahoe, American River

This unique mid-century modern cabin style (1950's) house sleeps 4 comfortably. It is located in the scenic Strawberry community off of Highway 50, 100 yards from the American River in the Strawberry forest canyon. There are beautiful views of Lover's Leap from our cabin with floor to ceiling (9') windows in the Living Room and Rose Room. The cabin is equipped with new, efficient forced air heating, remodeled kitchen with granite countertops, new Pergo flooring, updates everywhere and a beautiful floor to ceiling stone fireplace that adds ambiance and additional warmth.

It is in walking distance to the historic Pony Express Trail and Lover's Leap, a hot spot for rock climbers and hikers. Enjoy the historic Strawberry Lodge, a walk away, for breakfast, dinner or a nightcap or walk to the Strawberry Station to pick up some groceries or hang out with the locals, climbers and the owners, Squirrel and Jen.

An hour and a half from Sacramento, just before the usual chain control at Twin Bridges and 5 miles before Sierra-at-Tahoe our cabin is ideal for skiers and riders, without the hassle of driving over Echo Summit. There are many recreational activities to enjoy right out the front door and even more a short drive away.

The Pacific Crest Trail, the Pony Express Trail, Lover's Leap and Horse Tail Falls Trail are minutes from the cabin. The cabin is close to a handful of mountain recreational lakes including Echo Summit Lake, Ice House Lake, and Cody Lake.

This cabin is super cozy and spacious. I had the best time here with my girlfriend. I highly recommend you try out this cabin yourself, Cari the owner is the very caring and helpful - she has fantastic recommendations whether we are talking hiking, eating, sight seeing. The drive to South Lake Tahoe is about 20 minutes which we found to be very convenient!

A charming clean and restful place. Close to the road but noise is not really a problem. The view and neighborhood are green and peaceful. You'd never know how close the fire came several years ago.

Cozy place with amazing deck

Cari was an excellent host and we enjoyed our stay in this house. House was clean. The newly built deck was a plus. The view from the deck was fantastic.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful cabin

Had a wonderful experience staying at Cari's place. She was very communicative and the place was well stocked eith everything we needed. The cabin is in a beautiful spot and the windows allowed a lot of natural light and were perfect to look out when it was snowing. We are excited to come back again!

Great cabin

The strawberry cabin was a cozy place to stay for a weekend getaway to Tahoe. My only critique was the cleanliness of some things: there were baking sheets and wire wracks that had been used to cook bacon left in the oven and most of the kitchenware was varying degrees of dirty, including dishes that were grimy with grease or oil. I understand that that is due more to the previous guests as with no dishwasher in the cabin you are relying on the hand-washing/cleanliness standards of the past guests. There was also quite a bit of dust due to decor that is not easily or frequently cleaned. So if you have anyone with dust/mite allergies this may not be a good place for you. All other aspects of the cabin, including the bathroom, bedding, etc were clean. One detail to be aware of is that the queen beds in the master bedroom are very high and would not be suitable for guests with short stature or ambulatory/mobility issues. The living room seating could stand to be updated for both comfort and cleanliness but was manageable. Access from the parking area to the front door is not steep and easy to maneuver. There was plenty of firewood to keep the cabin warm throughout the weekend. The kitchen had just about anything you could need for food prep and cooking.Management was friendly, helpful, responsive and easy to get an hold of. Overall we had an enjoyable stay.

Charming Cabin with Great View

This was a wonderful cabin. It was clean and charming. It had a nice view, was quiet, and very close to Sierra at Tahoe for snowboarding and skiing.

The best get away

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time staying at Cari's strawberry cabin! Its location is perfect if you are planning on going to South Lake Tahoe. I highly recommend booking a stay with Cari, she is responsive, respectful and caring.

Relaxing retreat

Love Cari’s cabin! It was so cozy and comfortable- the fireplace is probably our favorite part of the cabin. It was a treat to sit by the fire and watch the snow fall. Lots of neat games, books and VHS/DVD collections. Plus the beds were very comfortable- would stay here again!

Good place to stay

Great cabin with a large wood burning fireplace. Beautiful view of Lover's Leap cliff face, from both the main cabin and bedroom. Be prepared for power outages during snow and wind storms.

Great, comfortable, cozy stay

The Strawberry cabin was very comfortable, very clean, and very cozy. Though right by Highway 50, it’s a wonderful, secluded-feeling setting. The view of Lovers Leap from the large main room window is great. The kitchen is small, but very highly functional. We cooked all our meals during a several-day stay and the cabin had everything we needed in terms of pots, pans, baking dishes, prep bowls, and cooking utensils. There’s an upper and lower oven. The fireplace is great. The small neighborhood was quite nice to walk around in and walk our dog in. Our hostess Caroline was communicative and friendly and I could tell she is kind and cares about people having a nice stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Location

Short stay with nice view of Lover's Leap right out the window. Cabin was well stocked for cooking and everything worked as expected. Had a couple of nice fires in the open fireplace. Would recommend this cabin for smaller groups (only one bathroom). Suited my needs well.

Bright and cheerful cabin

We spent a month in May/June and loved our stay. The views from the primary bedroom look directly at Lovers Leap. The deck outside is a wrap around so you can enjoy sun or shade according to conditions. The kitchen is well stocked and anything you need to clean up after yourself or pets has been thought of. We can’t wait to visit again.

We both enjoy outdoor activities like surfing, jogging, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, back country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, swimming and camping. I love to decorate and work on home improvement projects. Fulfilling my life long dream of owning a cabin in the Sierras has given me another fantastic projected that I love. It is so fun decorating the cabin in mountain/lodge decor!

Vacationing in Tahoe was always a favorite memory growing up. It has always been a dream to own a little cabin in the woods. We love the seclusion, skiing and outdoor adventures in Strawberry/ Twin Bridges. It's the perfect place to bring kids, and I'm glad we can give our kids the same life long memories of enjoying the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The cabin has so many fun adventures right out the front door. Walking to the American River to relax by the river or swim in the pools is a fantastic summer activity. Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, Pony Express Trail, Horse tail Falls Trail are always beautiful. Bringing a plant guide to help identify Sierra wild flowers is always a joy. Hiking from Camp Sacramento to the top of Lover's Leap is an easy hike with spectacular views as the reward! Not to mention, the great lakes nearby to fish, swim, boat and relax by the shore.
