Kanaloa Kona on a gorgeous ocean beach!

Kanaloa at Kona is considered by many to be the nicest resort on the Kona Coast. It sits on an ancient Lava flow that juts out into the Ocean about 1/2 mile, thereby separating the resort from the noise and traffic of Alii Drive, with entrance through a quiet residential neighborhood. All the other resorts in town sit right on Alii Drive. The resort is beautifully manicured and is located on a quiet, peaceful 16 acres bounded by the Kona Country Club Golf Course on the north, the ocean on the west, serene He'eia Bay on the south,. Walking distance to all the activities of beautiful Keauhou Bay, and less than half a mile to the Keauhou Shopping Center with supermarket, drug store, urgent care, and many shops and restaurants. Due to the integrated design and low density of the property, it has the feel of "Old Hawaii", as opposed to condo or apartment blocks with a few palm trees spread around.

The resort is a gated community with three lovely pools, each with jacuzzi, shower, and changing rooms, two lighted tennis courts, six BBQ's, and a front desk with a very helpful concierge on duty to assist you. The Kanaloa at Kona oceanfront restaurant is again open for service, providing fine oceanfront dining in Keauhou at the waterā€™s edge. There are enough world class beaches up and down the coast for you to explore a different one each day!

The condo was upgraded in 2015, and new carpet installed in 2018. The condo also has vaulted ceilings in every room giving it a very large open feel. There are three lanais in unit.

The spacious main lanai is oceanfront off of the living room and the two back lanais are off of the master bedroom and guest bedroom facing the mountains. We keep the condo stocked with snorkels, masks, fins, boogie boards, floaties, beach towels and a cooler so you're ready to start your vacation as soon as you check in!

You have several dining options. You can enjoy meals with seating for four at the glass table in the dining room or you can enjoy your meals oceanfront on the main lanai. You can also dine at the small table for two in the kitchen.

The spacious kitchen provides guests with all of the amenities and appliances to create gourmet meals right in the condo. Hawaiian Koa wood cabinets, tiled floors and granite countertops compliment this large, open kitchen with lots of cabinets for storage.

We had a wonderful few days here. Loved the balcony looking over H Bay. My wife and I sat out there quite a bit with a meal, coffee, or glass of wine. We used all 3 hot tubs in the complex, and the kids (3) loved playing pickleball and table tennis. On-site staff were friendly/helpful, and we chatted with numerous friendly guests/residents as well. AC worked great. Sofa bed was nice (for our youngest). Place was clean, etc. Good communication with host as needed. Very convenient location for the activities we were there to enjoy (manta snorkel and other snorkeling at bays to the south). The only thing less-than-perfect is that I like to cook and I found the kitchen a little small and dated (lighting, lack of range light/fan), but it was definitely manageable. Would return here for sure.

Beautifully decorated in authentic Hawaiian traditional furniture. Lovely lanai we had coffee on each morning listening to the waves. Lots of space, with all the things you need to have a home away from home!

We had to make a last minute change and find a new place on our first day on the island and this place was perfect. First of all, it has AC. That is / was extremely important as the island was very hot this week. Loved the area of the property. 3 pools with one overlooking the ocean we couldnā€™t have asked for more. Close to shopping, food, and the water, what more could you ask. Highly recommend this property. Great communication. Picture is taken from one of the lanais. The second pic is from the pool area.

We stayed here two weeks in July with our two grown sons. The condo is spacious and comfortable and has a wonderful view throughout the day. We loved the resort and enjoyed all three pools, especially the ocean pool at the end of the day to watch the sunset. We would stay here again. I also enjoyed having multiple grills stationed throughout the resort so I never had to wait when I was ready to cook dinner.

Nice place and location. Place is a little outdated and there was a lot of mosquitos in the main bathroom. Dishwasher was also a little dirty. Besides that it is good though!

A great place to relax

The condo was very comfortable and had very good air conditioning also. The neighborhood is very nice with 3 pools and tennis courts practically right outside your door. The space is designed nicely so you do not hear the people below or beside you. 3 lanais ensure you can get alone time or share dinner outside without leaving home. We had a great time!

Nice lanai for morning coffee

The view from the lanai was wonderful. The ocean side pool was gorgeous. Lots of space, laundry was nice, used beach chairs and coolers. Problems with appliances, the dishwasher, toilet and icemaker was mouldy. The place really needs a deep cleaning.

TIME TO RELAX

Having a place to stay that you end up calling home. Perfect. When you need to relax and get away from the daily chores and shovelling snow what a beautiful place to go. It takes a few days to get into a routine, but, then a new day started with a swim, touring the country side, coming home to a hot tub, and then relaxing with different view of sunsets. Wonderful, a must place to relax.

Our family absolutely loved our stay! The location was perfect; quiet and away from the strip. The condo was as described and clean, everything needed for our stay. If we ever find ourselves back in Kona we would definitely stay here again!

Perfect paradise stay

Everything about this place is 5 stars :) very clean and comfy , great location to lots of stuff we had something to do every day . Quiet , beautiful neighborhood we went for a run every morning . We sat at ocean side pool for sunset a few nights and saw several whale every time . Thereā€™s a cute little coffee shop about a mile away we walked to every morning . Several great dining options to all very close . We will be back for sure .

What a great place this is. The location is so amazing. Sitting out on the Lanai each morning and watching the waves crashing on the shore and the little birds singing their songs is the only way to start each day. The inside is very nice and so well equipped with all the little things you need. Everything was very clean and looked after. The only thing I didn't notice in the description is just the one TV in the living room, but no matter it is such a great place and I will definitely be coming back!!

Perfect oasis

It surpassed my expectations. Felt so private and yet so convenient to everything we wanted to do. Sitting on the main deck watching the sunrise and again in the evening listening to the surf and the birds was truly special.

Week in paradise

Our family stayed at this lovely condo for 8 days in July/August and were impressed with the quality of furnishings, upkeep of the condo, and spectacular view. We paid for A/C and it kept the condo perfectly cool! The owner was also very responsive whenever we contacted him. If we ever come back, we would love to stay here again! Absolute paradise!

Wonderful condo by the sea!

We stayed for a week. We had breakfast every morning on the lanai while watching people fish, swim and, when the tide was high, just listening to the waves move over the rocks. We saw sunset every night from the deck of the ocean pool and the air conditioning was a real plus for us! Our family had a wonderful time. Itā€™s located close to lots of fun things to do. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Location

Property is a bit dated and could use some upgrades, but the location makes up for it. The unit is located less than 3 min drive from a shopping center with everything you could need, including a grocery store and some great restaurants. Unit is located in quiet area that is close to snorkeling excursion pickup points, snorkeling beaches, and swimming beachs. The beach shown in the listing pics was within walking distance but was rocky and was rough while we were there. It wasnā€™t great for swimming, but we saw people snorkeling there. It was great drinking coffee on lanai and listening to/seeing the water. AC was must while we were there in July. Condo complex and pools were nice.

Little disappointed

Iā€™d like to make a review . we got here Saturday approximately 3 PM. Checked in without any issues but got inside the condo and it was hot. Very hot in here. This is not a central air conditioning unit. It has an individual units in the living room. It has a unit in the bedroom and one upstairs that you set to its own thermostat, it did seem to cool down relatively quickly after a couple hours. I just donā€™t understand why somebody couldnā€™t walk over here from the front desk and turn things on knowing that we were due here any hour . It does request that you take your shoes off, and we do take our shoes off at home, but this did not look as though it was as clean as it should be. The amount of dirt and debris on the ceiling fans was disgusting. I would not suggest turning them on. They havenā€™t been cleaned. mini cobwebs in the corners of the higher ceilings Upstairs, there are two single beds. Who ever is up thereā€™s gonna be in a single bed. The bathroom seems to be riddled with termites as you can see the termite droppings from bathroom door, the molding and all of it being eaten away by termites. The upstairs actually had a sock left to the right of one of the twin beds, obviously from previous occupants. As far as towels, kitchen towels ..bathroom towels there are not enough towels here for six people if thatā€™s who you plan on bringing six people you will not have enough towels or hand towels or kitchen towels. . Nice location, place needs a little love

Nice location, but disappointed in stay as the unit is really old and tired. Chipping paint, stained carpets, old furniture and decor. Mismatched towels, bedding, dinnerware. Fire alarm didnā€™t work and basic essentials missing. Images on listing show queen in loft, but it was two twins. Says sleeps six, old mattress in closet. Had to wash sheets as they smelled like mildew. Responsive host.

Kona Family Fun

Great location, beautiful views, needed deep cleaning, updates and really not room enough for 6 people even with 2 small childten. Overall we loved the place with the 3 pools, close to stores and restaurants. The grounds and pool area were spotless including the gas fireplaces for bbqing. We would go back to this place. Fabulous Family-Friendly Kona Condo

We loved staying at this property! The views off the main lanai are incredible - there is a lovely cove where you can listen to the ocean and birds singing while drinking your morning coffee or sipping your evening cocktail. There is tons of room, the condo was very clean, the beds comfy, and the air conditioning kept us cool. Not only that, but the entire property is really lovely and away from the hustle and bustle of town, so you are close to amenities but far enough away to feel like you have a peaceful setting. And there is an incredible ocean front pool that our kids played in every evening (and it offers incredible sunset views). Thank you, thank you, thank you to the property owners. We would love to return.
