Ocean Cottage 36 - Sweet Retreat 6-Seater Electric Gem Car With Rental

Located oceanfront and poolside at the popular Cottages at Jekyll Island communityā€¦life at the beach doesn't get any better than this! This two-story cottage-style townhome offers 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and sleeps 6 adults and two children. Open concept living with kitchen, dining, living, laundry, half bath and master suite (KING) on the main floor. The first floor also opens to an oceanfront screened porch and paver patio with a gas grill and a high-top dining table. The Kitchen is well-equipped with stainless appliances, a standard coffee maker, and a gas range. The second master suite (KING), a guest room with a private bath (QUEEN). The master and guest room are open to the upper screened balcony with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Cottages pool. The second floor has a bunk room for the little travelers. This Cottage is also equipped with a second fridge in the garage and a street-legal 6-seater electric cart. In addition, guests have access to The Cottages at Jekyll Island's million-dollar amenities, which include Clubhouse, zero-entry pool and fitness, beach deck, beach access, and a community fire pit.
**Important:** To access the golf cart, complete the cart use agreement sent via email 10 days before arrival.

THE COTTAGES BEACH ACCESS:
The Cottages beach is approximately 2000 linear feet and has a dune area and seawall that runs the length of the Cottages oceanfront property. There are 3 dune crossovers to the sand area landside of the seawall that are always accessible, and that area can be used for recreational purposes. The access to the beach over the seawall is centrally located at the pool & clubhouse. At high tide, the water is at the seawall. The tides change every 6 hours from low to high tide. A tide chart will help you plan your beach time. The nearest beach park with ocean access all day is Oceanview Beach Park, appx 2 miles south just past the Holiday Inn. You may view all Jekyll Beaches by visiting the Jekyll Island website under the Beaches tab.

Beautiful property with awesome ocean views. Great location on the island too. Townhouse is very comfortable and bedrooms were spacious. Kitchen is well equipped. Parking is tight though and only space for two cars.

This place is AMAZING!!! We loved everything about it! Very clean, plenty of room! We only had one issue with the fireplace working and the maintenance guy came multiple times and called to try and help us and was very helpful but it kept going out.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: One cannot beat the view from this Cottage! The sun came in each morning and got the day started with lots of bike riding and swimming in the pool. The beach was just outside the door and made walk along the rocks at low tide fun for the kids in finding shells and little crabs.Thank you for a lovely week at The Cottages!

We really enjoyed our stay! Everything was clean and up-to-date. The location was quiet and peaceful. We didnā€™t get to use the amenities offered (pool, fitness room etc.), but knowing it was there was great considering how reasonable the price was for the rental. The free use of the golf cart was an added bonus. However, the battery really starts draining once the charge gets below half.

Wonderful stay!

This property is beautiful, spacious, and in the perfect location! We were just steps from the pool and the beach. The views were spectacular. You can hear the ocean from the lovely screened in porch! Would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a comfortable and relaxing trip to the beach! And the golf cart was super fun!

Beautiful and spacious

Wonderful condo with amazing views! Right next to the pool for easy access. The electric cart available for use made all the difference - we loved having the ability to zip into town without taking two cars (for 6 adults.) Very well stocked kitchen and beautiful furnishings. Hope to stay again!

The cottage is very big, beautiful and very comfortable plenty of room for the 7 of us. It sits right next to the pool and club house which was great, we worked out adn enjoyed playing pool, the beach area isn't good for swimming but very nice to take a walk on The kitchen is stocked pretty good but lacking on supplies. We are given one towel, one wash cloth and no sponge. The bathrooms are the same one set of towels for each person, some spares. We brought detergent and used the washer and dryer. Great place and the island is beautiful to explore on a golf cart, which was really nice...

Lovely home

We enjoyed our stay so much we plan on staying again. Couple of thingsā€¦.pretty sure the golf cart needs a new battery, only lasted to half and then we just prayed our way back. It was still a fun adventure!! The dishwasher doesnā€™t release the soap so we had to run it again and just toss the pod in the bottom, no big deal at all. The location is PERFECT and this place and the neighborhood is beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

Great stay, but trip to beach was not longer than expected.

The house was nicely furnished and neat. Also, it was nice being so close to the pool and club house. However, the only downfall was that we thought we had beach front access to ocean but the access was walled off by a rock wall. The golf cart provided by the property came in handy to travel to the public beach areas. Overall, would recommend.

Relaxing and comfortable

We had a pretty perfect stay and our group included teens, and adults from their 40s to upper 70s. The beds and furniture were comfortable. While we were there, there were plenty of times when there was literally no one else within sight on the entire beach. Also while we were there, the stairs to the beach that are nearest to this cottage were the only ones in service which is a big plus. The cottage is within a decent walk to driftwood beach. We used the golf cart to go all over. The location of this cottage is the nearest possible to the pool and clubhouse and one of the decks by the beach. We chose this to save steps for my elderly mother-in-law. Know though this means that the bunk bed bedroom and the bedroom on that same side of the house get sounds and light from the pool area and one very bent palm tree that sways and creaks in the wind all night. It didn't bother us much, but if you are an entire group of light sleepers, it could be something to consider. From the bigger bedroom, the sound of the ocean definitely overpowered the other sounds when it was warm enough to sleep with the door cracked which was every night but one while we were there.

Absolutely love this place.

The property was super clean and beautiful. Access to pool and clubhouse was close and convenient. Check in / check out was easy. We didn't have a long list of "chores" to do for checkout. My only complaint would be access to the beach. There was a very nice deck near the property that provided near beach access and a great view but the stairs to get over the dune to reach the actual surf was broken by storm or surf and had not been repaired yet. The beach access was about 100 yards away to get over the dune to access the beach/surf. Not a huge issue. We really did love our visit. Jekyll is a wonderful place for beach and golf.
