Ocean Access Walkway 50 Feet from Your Front Door

Virginia Beach is an ideal spot for a family vacation - and our vacation home is in the perfect location in the popular and more private North End. Walk out of the front door right to the improved beach access walkway and directly to the sand!

Restaurants of almost every description are about a 15 or less minute drive with many offering delivery services. The Virginia Beach resort strip/boardwalk area, also a few minutes away offers entertainment, food, bike rentals, jet ski rentals, parasailing, full night life, and much more.

Our home features 4 bedrooms and lots of living spaces - living room, eat in kitchen, spacious L shaped screened porch, and a ground level backyard deck. Truly a charming beach cottage built in the early 1900's.

Bed Linens, beach and bath towels are not provided. Vacationers are required to furnish them during their stay. We'll send a reference for a rental company at booking

We welcome family and extended family vacation groups to inquire further. We're not the venue for high school or college graduation week celebrations, bachelor or bachelorette parties, etc. Our location is a family friendly neighborhood with mostly owner occupied properties.

In order to accommodate guests with allergies, this is a pet free cottage.

We offer discounts for monthly rentals in the off season - November through May 15. All seasonal rentals are at the full weekly rate and rent from Saturday to Saturday only.
May 16 - October 31st. Please send an inquiry if you need the monthly rate off season.

Family Trip

Great Family Vacation

Propety is a short walk to the beach which is never terribly crowded. Many great ammenities provided by the host for the property. If you finish the covered bridge puzzle, you have my deepest respect. Highly recommend!

The location makes this property. The North End beaches are far less crowded and quieter than near the boardwalk. The house was well equipped with beach chairs and and a beach cart. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had what was necessary. The host was very responsive.

Virginia Beach Trip

We had a great time. Great location. Beach is right there, short walk over the dunes. Central location in North End, easy drive to the Resort Area and any other amenities one may need.

Prefect beach cottage with old school feel. The location is amazing —10 steps to the beaxh access. You will never want to leave the front porch. Highly recommend!

Cozy Beach Get Away

Our family had a pleasant stay at this cozy beach house located just steps away from public beach access. We appreciated the owner (Chad's) attention to detail and dedication to making sure everything was good. The beach itself was wonderful, not crowded and plenty for our 4 teenage boys to do!

Location location location!!!

This is our second time at this property and it was wonderful. Right next to the beach and very near the boardwalk and places to eat. We didn’t need a house this big but we love the location. The owners are very responsive and accommodating.

Quiet, relaxing, a great family vacation!

We loved the cottage and the location to the beach. We really enjoyed your recommendations of “Big Sam’s and Pirate Paradise for mini golf! We went to False Cape State Park to kayak and engaged in several wonderful children’s programs at First Landing State Park and Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. So many great activities within driving distance. We plan to return in the future. Thank you do much!

Great Location

This property was great for our week stay during Thanksgiving. My son & husband were able to surf & kitesurf. It was a bit more house than we needed but the location was well worth it. The owner was quick to respond & checkin was really easy. This will definitely be on my list of favorites.

nice cottage

older cottage. very nice to stay in. Air condition worked great on 90+ days. Beds were pretty comfy & rooms clean. Lots of "beach toys" to use, along with chairs. It's a good hike to the water, but the beach is really nice & not loads of tourists.

Beach Fun!

My family very much enjoyed the cozy cottage by the ocean. We had every convenience needed. The large screened in porch was the scene of many happy evenings together. The host checked in on us and was available to help if needed. A thoroughly wonderful stay.

Kid friendly on the Beach

This house is right off the beach and was perfect for a family vacation with small kids. House had a beach cart, chais and an umbrella to use which made packing simpler. House is older and was good for having small kids so we didn’t have to worry about them ruining something high- end. Screened in porch was great for bug-free dinners.

Virginia Beach Treasure!

This house just keeps on giving! Such an amazing property with vintage charm and modern amenities. It’s steps away from the boardwalk path that leads over the dunes to the beach. The kitchen is well-appointed, and the L-shaped screened in porch with 2 (!) ceiling fans and Scandinavian table is perfect for family meals and games. The beach is practically private through the week and everything you need for the beach - besides towels and sunscreen- are at the house!

Great time at the beach with family

Great house, great beach access, overall great time spent here with family. Rented sheets & towels beforehand from the cleaning company as suggested. Plenty of room for 4 adults & 3 kids, could have easily fit in two additional folks. Three parking spaces in front of house. Plenty of supplies, washer & dryer, plenty of beach toys, chairs & a cart available to use. The outdoor shower was very helpful with clean up after fun days on the beach. Our family from Colorado, TN & VA made wonderful memories during our week here.

Great Cottage with a Great Location

Our family of 4 (including two teenage boys) had a terrific week vacationing here. It's an older house, but has been kept up nicely. The layout is a little quirky with the master bedroom off the kitchen, but it didn't bother us at all. As other reviewers have noted, the front porch is awesome! With the plentiful space and seating as well as the ceiling fans keeping the breeze going, we spent a good amount of time there when not on the beach. The close location to the beach was as advertised - just a few steps. The owner was also very courteous and responsive. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Great family stay

We had a great stay here the last week of June. My husband, my parents, and 3 kids (4, 2, and 6 months) really utilized the buggy with beach chairs to the beach everyday. The outdoor screened in porch with the fan on is where we spent most of our time when we weren’t on the beach. Honestly the pictures don’t do it justice because it’s bigger and nicer than we thought before arriving so we were pleasantly surprised. Chad was great and very responsive leading up to our stay, during, and even after. The location was great because the beach was never too crowded being farther away from the boardwalk. Really can’t get much closer to the beach either. Thanks Chad! -Ashley

The Jewel of the Beach

This was our 5th year of staying at this wonderful cottage and I wouldn't stay anywhere else! I call this cottage the "Jewel of the Beach"! The accommodations are plenty for our family of 5 plus my mother-in-law and a friend. The cottage is clean and up to date. We absolutely love and use the HUGE screened-in front porch with ceiling fans -- we even eat our dinners on the table out there. The location is FABULOUS! It's steps away from the "walk-over" to the beach and the beach is in a private location. We've gone down at different times in the summer and the beach where this cottage is located is never crowded. This cottage is close to grocery stores and WONDERFUL seafood restaurants on the Lynnehaven Waterway. I would highly recommend this cottage for one of the best vacations ever!

Perfect for 2 families

Great property, literally steps from sand. The beach and ocean at this location are gorgeous. Seemed we had it all to ourselves! I will say it's a longer walk to the water than it looks, but well worth it. Water is warm (compared to our New England waters at least) and the beach is pristine. The location is great too, just a couple miles to everything. The house was great for our two familes of 4. We spent a lot of time on the porch due to bad weather a few of the days, and it was awesome. We ate many dinners on the large dining table on the porch. AC was really great too. Nice and chilly after a hot day. Beds were comfy, showers were strong, and there was plenty of room for our teens to spread out. Only a couple of minor things to mention. A small leak over the washer and dryer, but it rained like crazy for a couple days, and the owners have been working on it. Also, the kitchen appliances could use an upgrade, but everything worked just fine. Owner Frank seemed very nice and responsive. I'd rent this house again for sure.

Perfect North End location and spectacular porch

This cottage is located on the quiet North End, our favorite part of Virginia Beach. Many aspects of the cottage have vintage vibes and a highlight is the amazing screened in, wrap around front porch. There are multiple seating areas and ceiling fans, making it a perfect spot for reading, working remotely, or having dinner (it's the only dining table that fit our family). The house location is perfect (we only stay on the oceanside block to avoid the run across the busy road to get to the beach with small kids) -- literally 5 steps to the boardwalk down to the beach. The supplied beach cart, chairs, and other beach equipment were fantastic. Some of us continued a decades-long tradition of never showering indoors at Virginia Beach, thanks to the plentiful hot water in the outdoor shower. The home is older, which is part of the charm of the North End for me, but does require visitors to have realistic expectations of the home and furnishings. We spent a great 2 weeks there an encountered a maintenance issue and the owner was highly responsive, sending out a repairperson to evaluate immediately. For bad weather, you may want to bring a FireStick/Roku for the TV. This house also has a great block community, including friendly neighbors who stopped to play whiffle ball in the cul-de-sac. We also got very lucky with the incredible dolphin "shows" in the area during our stay -- 78th St was the spot! (We also recommend taking the morning or evening dolphin kayak tour in the bay.)

It's located in the North End of Virginia Beach with wider beach areas and off street parking. It is much less crowded than the resort boardwalk area yet is just a short bike ride or car ride to the boardwalk (or trolley ride) with its entertainment and restaurant venues. A family friendly area - our family and friends have been coming to our beach house for 50+ years.

It's a very relaxing vacation home. Several outside areas - large L shaped front screened porch, rear ground level deck with a small fenced yard area. All of the modern amenities make it enjoyable no matter the weather. An outside shower with hot and cold water is off the back deck.
