Listing was very accurate. House was clean considering it is a beach house except the pool could have been a bit cleaner. Check-in was great all the information was sent prior to check in. There was notes inside the house with expectations. Also, we needed to contact someone during our stay while we were there got an immediate response, even though it was late at night. I would recommend and would stay again.

The Cottage was exactly as advertised. It was comfortable with everything we needed. It was very clean.

Wonderful vacay in Captiva!

We loved our stay in Captiva Baywatch Cottage, our 2nd stay at this property. Enjoyed the pool, kayaks and docks. Will definitely return in the future, we try to visit Captiva regularly!

Great Location

This property has a terrific location and is very quiet. The dock is great to have as well. The cottage is older but was very clean. Is was priced appropriately.

An Anniversary Trip In Simplistic Paradise

Baywatch Cottage and premises were as alluring as the photos on VRBO. Simplistic paradise right off the dining room (bug free) was the best part!! This location was convenient to everything especially Turner and Blind pass beach which we visited frequently! We will be revisiting the cottage for sure!

Mixed Experience: Great Location, But Property & Fees Were DisappointingThe location was the best part of our stay. The property was secluded, quiet & the private dock provided excellent access for fishing and kayaking.Unfortunately, the house itself did not match the listing photos. Everything felt much more dated than advertised & most furniture shown in the pictures was not the furniture that was actually in the home. Several maintenance issues also stood out, including sliding glass doors that were very difficult to open and close.The pool was another disappointment. The water was often foggy & the surface is in desperate need of resurfacing. After swimming in the pool, my son developed an ear infection, which added to our concerns about its condition.The most frustrating part of the experience came after checkout when the property management company charged my credit card for additional fees that were never disclosed during the booking process. These charges were not related to damages or any issues during our stay, making the lack of transparency especially concerning.On a positive note, VRBO customer service was extremely helpful & responsive in reaching a resolution. While we enjoyed the peaceful location & waterfront access, the property's condition, misleading photos, pool issues & undisclosed post-stay charges make it difficult for me to recommend this rental. I would encourage future guests to carefully review and ask questions upfront before booking.

This property is advertised as a value property, and the charge was not for an issue that occurred during your stay. After your departure, our cleaning team found the home covered in pet hair, and we had not been informed that a pet had been staying at the property. We contacted you regarding the situation, and you confirmed that the pet had been with you. Because the presence of a pet required additional cleaning beyond the standard turnover, an additional pet fee was applied. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to work to ensure that our listing information and policies are as clear as possible for future guests.

Baywatch cottage

Very spacious cottage. It is kind of dated and the kitchen supplies could be updated (cookware). We did eat out most nights but we did cook breakfast daily. Skillets were worn out There were little flies in the tub shower but the overall cleanliness of the cottage was fairly good. We very much appreciated the beach chairs and mats. The private pool was great too. We took advantage of the dock access when we went fishing with friends. Great location, not far from anything.

Perfect for us

While the hurricane damage was much more severe on sanibel, Captiva has managed to recover well. The cottage was clean, convenient to the beaches, grocery and dining at the Tween Waters resort, had all the amenities we wanted (pool especially), everything worked, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. No-see-Ums were terrible so bring bug spray. Bed was comfortable. Make sure to check with the property manager on food items like coffee, salt / pepper, etc. as we needed to grab those up after arrival. All good! Managers were very responsive and had good information. Noise was zero back in the little enclave. We’ll see you this winter!

The cottage was definitely old and had terrible A/C problems during our entire stay. Temperature got up to 82 during the day and didn't cool down to around 70 till about 4am every morning. Very uncomfortable to try to sleep in. We couldn't use the livingroom area either due to all the big windows/doors that had excessive heat coming thru them. There are curtains but that only blocked some sunlight. The masterbedroom had no ceiling fan so we had 3 boxed fans at the foot of the bed to try to cool down. There is also a fireplace in there that has alot of heat coming into the room. We paid way too much to stay here for 5 nights and be so uncomfortable! Couldn't enjoy the cottage or any of the views since every blind & curtain had to stay closed. We won't ever stay here again.

Great area but

The place was a little run down. The shower did not work in one bathroom. Could not adjust temperature. There were portable air conditions in the bedrooms that were so loud it was impossible to sleep with them on. The place did seem a little on the dirty side and at one point catapillars dropped from a ceiling vent into the bathroom sink. It was a great location. It’s a shame that it isn’t better taken care.

Neglected Property

The property was in substandard condition. Musty odor inside, infested with centipedes and roaches. Frequent sewer smell outside. Pool had crabs in it every day as well as dead centipedes. Walls and woodwork and floors were filthy. TV in master did not work. Exposed wires on exterior outlets interior condition - fair minus. Not worth the money. Couldn’t sleep good due to bugs. No property rules, other property tenants took over the dock and parked in the back of the property so we were staring at vehicles instead of the foliage. Wish we had the money and the two weeks back. Kingfisher we’re very nice property managers, unfortunately the owner has not maintained property. Dying palm tree dropped coconuts randomly and frequently making it dangerous to go in rear of the property. We have pictures of all these issues/ problems. Trust us, the reality is much different than the property pictures online. Advice, stay elsewhere or stay home. My wife and daughter wanted to leave the third day. My wife was in tears at one point. Not a pleasant experience.
