Wonderful 1 bedroom condo in a picturesque, impeccably maintained, quiet, Hillcrest complex -- one of San Diego's most sought-after neighborhoods. Top floor unit (floor 3, elevator), with lots of windows/sunlight, new kitchen w. quartz counters, romantic balcony/deck, gym, central AC, garage parking, high efficiency washer/dryer in unit, high speed Internet, high quality queen bed, and 2 newer LCD TVs. One thing that is hard to capture in photos is how this condo feels like a home. Three sides of the unit are unattached, and there are windows on every side, providing plenty of light. And the location is wonderful -- (Walk Score 91) Easy access to Balboa Park(1 mile) and the San Diego Zoo, downtown/waterfront, Old Town and other sites (a quick drive to SD Airport).
Just steps to the popular Hillcrest Farmer's Market, any number of cafes, antique shops, restaurants, and supermarkets -- this really is one of the prime San Diego locations.

Amazing host & incredibly cozy apartment - perfect for long stays and remote work!I stayed in this apartment for about two months, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The host is truly amazing - kind, responsive, and very caring. From day one, I felt welcomed and well taken care of.The apartment itself is super cozy, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for comfortable everyday living, whether for a short or long stay. I was working remotely, and the setup was ideal: a comfortable desk and fast, reliable internet, which made working from home easy and stress-free.The residential complex is also fantastic and adds so much value to the stay. There is private parking, a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, and a fully equipped gym, which made daily life even more comfortable and enjoyable.The location is unbeatable. Trader Joe’s and Ralphs are just a couple of minutes’ walk away, along with many other shops and great restaurants nearby. There’s even a Miniso within walking distance. And the beautiful Balboa Park is also easily walkable, which was a huge bonus.I truly loved everything about this place - the apartment, the complex, the neighborhood, the comfort, and the communication with the host. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect place to stay!

Location, Location, Lication

This is the fourth time we’ve stayed at this property, need I say more.For being in the city, it’s relatively quiet and very close to everything. We don’t have a car when we stay here walking most days and taking Uber or Lyft back. Trader Joe’s just next-door and the swimming pool on the property are added bonuses.

Great condo!

This condo was great! We loved the property itself and the location couldn’t be better. It’s close to restaurants, grocery stores, Balboa Park and the San Diego zoo! The complex itself is beautiful and we met many nice neighbors who were friendly and helpful! Loved the pool and gym and got to use it often. We’ve already booked for the Spring as our daughter lives nearby!

Clean and comfortable condo

This property was clean, comfortable and well stocked. The Hillcrest location was near public transportation so a car wasn’t necessary to get around San Diego.

Quiet, convenient, and great host!

My wife and I stayed at Joe's apartment for 2 months while our home was being worked on. The apartment worked out great and we got to experience a great neighborhood. From the start, Joe was very responsive to my questions and always reached out in a timely manner. From check-in to check-out, Joe was friendly and professional. Having a great host make all the difference. The apartment is cozy and well appointed. The kitchen was redone recently and it shows. The apartment has most of the utensils (no chopsticks though) and cookware that anyone would need. It also have a toaster oven, a blender, and a water heater. There is a desk in the bedroom which I moved to the living room with Joe's permission. This allowed me to work without disturbing my wife. The internet was fast and reliable. There is also one parking spot in a convenient spot in the garage. The neighborhood of Hillcrest is super convenient and well worth exploring. If you are into urban hiking, there is the "Seven Bridges" hike which takes you to a few interesting bridges in the neighborhood. The community that the apartment is in is great! Everyone we met were super friendly. We used the pool a lot although it does get crowded on the weekends. I believe that the community is definitely a big plus for the apartment. The only negative I can think of is the size of the bed. It is a full size bed which is a bit small for two people. Everything else was superb and I would highly recommend Joe's apartment for any stay.

Great stay

Great place for my month long visit to San Diego. A quiet oasis close to san diego sites and with a trader Joes/ Ralph's supermarket and restauant choices at the Hub next door. The unit is light, airy and comfy. The full kitchen was so nice for a longer stay and allowed me to have my family I was visiting over for a couple meals. The balcony is great for morning coffee and afternoon wine. I could not have found a better spot. Convenient parking as well. Highly recommend.

Joe was an incredible host from beginning to end. Communication was timely and very considerate and flexible. The place was ready when expected and was very clean. He provided everything that was needed and more. Would love to rent again on our next visit.

Quiet place in a Convenient area

My husband and I have stayed here several times and always enjoy it. It’s in an area with a variety of restaurants we can walk to. There is Ralph’s grocery store and Trader Joe’s next door to the complex. There’s usually a farmers market on the other side of the complex every Sunday, but it is now shut down due to the coronavirus, as are most cafes and restaurants in the area. But we will definitely return to stay there again.

Good location

My husband and I have stayed at this property several times. It’s close to a lot of neighborhood shops and restaurants you can walk to. There’s a farmers’ market every Sunday and it’s just a block away from the condo. The kitchen is nicely stocked with the necessary dishes and pots & pans and although it’s small it has adequate counter space & regular size appliances. There are TVs in the bedroom and living room that work well. Although the area has a good amount of traffic there are sidewalks making it easy to window shop. It’s not far from Balboa Park, the zoo or the Aquarium We always enjoy staying there.

Perfect location

This condo is next to a great regular grocery store, Trader Joe’s and multiple other shops.. There are at least a dozen very good & reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance and every Sunday there is a farmers market adjacent to the condo complex with fresh produce & tasty food to try. It was about a 10 min. drive to Balboa Park and 10 min. to downtown. The compex is well kept. It has an exercise room, swimming pool & spa. We enjoyed all 3. The condo itself is small but has everything you need. It is also remarkably quiet. Very little sound carried into the bedroom from the living room. You really can’t beat the location or the friendly neighbors.

Very clean, quiet, comfortable and in a good spot.

Close go shopping, close to misssion beach, close to the zoo- the nicest neighbors of all time- if you are social. Great to have Trader Joe's nearby! Very clean place, very quiet at night.

Great location, Great owner, Clean & convenient!

I rented Joe's condo for 4 weeks from Oct. to early Nov. 2015, and thoroghly enjoyed my stay there! The location was perfect, in the trendy Hillcrest area with abundance of great restaurants, Japanese, Mexican, Italian, etc., all around, as well as McDonald's, Jack in the box, etc. for those that fancy fast food, all within 5 min walk. Ralph's and Trader Joe's grocery stores, and Starbucks are just 100 meters away. Balboa Park is 15 min walk. Just off of 163, Washington St., and University Ave. makes getting around super easy by car or public transport. The apartment complex is very quiet and well-kept with swimming pool, gym, assigned underground parking spot, and the tenants (neighbours) are courteous and friendly. The apartment itself is very clean, well furnished and fully stocked kitchen with everything you can possibly need, full variety of pots & pans, dishes, utensils, linen, towels, spares for everything... The renovation is a bit older, but is nonetheless cozy and comfortable (I understand the owner will be remodelling in 2016), and the appliances that include washer and dryer are all new. The owner is very responsive and pleasant to deal with. Always responds promptly, and very helpful and considerate. All-in-all it's great a condo for great value, and I highly recommend it to travellers looking for hassle-free, value accomodation! You just can't go wrong with this one.

Great Location in San Diego

I rented Joe's condo for my 3 month extended stay in San Diego and it was the PERFECT place to be. First of all the location is ideal - i could walk to Trader Joe's, Ralph's, Whole Foods and Sprouts! Plus, many, many restaurants. Joe's place is also a nice healthy walk to Balboa park. Although I had a car, taking public transportation downtown to the PETCO field for a ball game was easy. Several beaches are just minutes away via car. The condo itself was delightful. With windows on 3 sides, the evening cross ventilation was very nice. The condo is bright and cheerful and felt like home away from home. The bed was comfortable, the Wi-Fi was fast and there is plenty of closet space. Plus the convenience of having a washer/dryer in the unit was "worth the price of admission". Also having a reserved parking space in the garage was the icing on the cake. All-in-all, Joe's condo was the best value for me, and Joe was easy and pleasant to do business with.

Perfect place for San Diego

I rented Joe's condo for the month of October and was very pleased with the unit and its location. Trader Joe's and Ralph's are across the street from one of the entrances, numerous restaurants and bars/clubs are literally minutes away on foot, and everything else one would want to see is nearby or easily accessible by bus (no car needed in this location). The complex is well kept and has a large, beautiful swimming pool with a jacuzzi, as well as a small gym that is great for a quick workout. Joe's unit is very spacious for a one-bedroom and has all the conveniences one would need. Also, Joe is very quick to respond to any questions one might have. I would highly recommend this unit in Hillcrest, one of the best areas in the city---clean, safe, and lots to do.

LIKE HOME-LIKE CONVENIENT CONDO

Comfortable feeling condo, located within walking distance to many Hillcrest activities. Easy access to meet all needs. Owner very responsive to our needs with bonus swimming and fitness facilities. Loved the Sunday farmers market nearby. Only 5-10" to Balboa Park and downtown San Diego. Recommend to others.

truly enjoyed our stay even though brief. very comfortable and clean and quiet. the pool and gym were a bonus. walk everywhere. Ralph's and Trader Joe's were so convenient! owner was very accessible.
