This sunny condo is close to EVERYTHING.. The bay, beach, and Downtown! Mission Bay and the park are literally 1/2 a mile away, Pacific Beach is just down the hill, La Jolla is just one exit away. Sea World, Old Town and Downtown Gas Lamp District just minutes away. Walk down the hill to the Trolley Station… (take the trolley to Mexican border, walk across & taxi or go to UTC). This condo has Huge windows in living room and a balcony with seating at an antique pine table. Flatscreen smart T.V.'s in every room. Fast Wifi, gorgeous kitchen w/granite bar.. Swimming pool, huge jacuzzi. BBQ’s - deck areas… Newly remodeled, beautiful furnishings. Comfy beds; high end mattresses, luxury linens! Fully appointed kitchen with spices, cooking oils and bar ware. Walk to restaurants, brewery, sushi bar, liquor store & dry-cleaners; all just around the corner.
As condos go, it is excellent, quiet neighbors, wonderful deck areas… It is an amazing location as it is super close to the freeway and though you are right there above Pacific Beach, you don't have to be 'stuck' trying to get in and out of beach traffic in summer. La Jolla is just one exit away on the freeway and all of the most popular beaches and attractions are an easy and quick ride. That way you can Uber down into PB or La Jolla or downtown for super cheap if you want to have cocktails!

so glad you found it cozy and enjoyed your stay! I worked so hard decorating the Pad for you with 2 Christmas trees and more... because you said you wanted it that way, also left gifts, etc. Never heard any complaints so I am baffled by the 4 stars, considering all the extras and the rave review.

Comfy home away from home!

Great location, fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds and pillows! After a long day with the in-laws it was great to come back to this oasis!

Restful retreat after a day in the sun

Lacey was a very accommodating, helpful, and friendly host. Her place was just right with everything one could need in a thoughtfully and beautifully appointed "home away from home". It was easy to access main travel routes from there. We had a lovely time!

This review is very misleading... Sheila asked for early check-in for her daughter, which I provided... 2 hours early. I never heard from them after that... I am available 24/7 by phone, so I imagined there were no issues. Then I read this SHINING review, great, so why the 4 stars instead of 5? She said, the shower wouldn't turn on in guest bath, and perhaps it was that she didn't know how to do it.. and there was 'a hair' in the tub... wow. I asked why she didn't just simply call me and give me the opportunity to help her (the shower works fine... the hair was no doubt, hers). She did not respond. These are the kind of things that hurt owners because people don't communicate. So disappointing.

Writers pad stay

Our experience at this property for our Family vacation was wonderful. The location of the condo was perfect -short drive to shopping, restaurants and beaches. The condo itself was clean, and plenty of room for our family of 4. Laundry facilities and access to pool and jacuzzi was a bonus. Lacy was a gracious host and communicated with us before and during our stay. I would not hesitate to rent again if we return to the area.

Nicole and her family were absolutely lovely... so respectful and appreciative. I wish ALL of my guests were this kind and left things in such order. Would welcome them back any time!

Great location, centrally located!

Lacey was very responsive and helpful. Her place is fabulous w/comfy lounging couch and tv in every bedroom if wanting privacy! I loved all her books, vintage items and musically inspired art as well as guitars! Well, she is a famous musician!!!! Highly recommend. Very well organized space that has all you you need for short or long stay!!!

Charming and Comfortable

What a find! This charming condo was a joy to come back to each day after enjoying ourselves in San Diego. The location was convenient to everything we did. The large screen smart TV was great for chilling in the evening. If you’re a musician, this place might just inspire you to pick up one of the guitars and write that hit song! Lacey has furnished “The Pad” with an eclectic collection of antique furniture, which gives the place great character. Not fussy, “this is going to break if I sit on it” type of stuff, but rather comfortable, inviting pieces. The Pad is not a large place, but we found it quite suitable for two adults and two teenagers. The kids enjoyed the pool while the adults sat in the hot tub. The on-site laundry was very convenient as you can pay for the washers and dryers with an iPhone app if you don’t have quarters. We bought tickets for the zoo, and realized they had to be printed out. Luckily there was a printer in the condo that I could connect to from my iPhone. That was so helpful! The owner, Lacey Younger, was an excellent hostess. She was quick to get back to us via text if we had any questions, and even offered some good advice for restaurants and attractions. From now on, this will be our “go to” spot when we visit San Diego.

Wonderful Stay

We had a nice time visiting San Diego with this as our home base. Locate close enough to everything that we could visit the city, south to the border, north into Carlsbad and beyond and east to the desert and Julian in the mountains. The condo had all we needed for a relaxing week. We all agreed we would definity stay again.

Comfortable and well appointed

The apartment is comfortable, well appointed and very close driving distance to La Jolla, Pacific Beach, and San Diego attractions. A quiet place to work or relax during the day or to recharge in the evening after a day sightseeing.

Great DIY Writing Retreat Location

This place really fit our requirements. It was clean and well appointed. The owner was helpful and information. Two small reasons why it isn't getting a 5. You need a car. It's not as central as I would have liked and the neighborhood isn't walkable. Also, no laundry in the unit itself (which was a surprise). We'd book it again.

Comfortable & Great Holiday Stay

We had a great time staying here as a family over the holidays. The location was great as it was close to many of the places we wanted to visit. Lacy was very humble and welcoming before, during and after our visit. We would highly recommend the property and of course Lacy! We look forward to recommending and hopefully visiting The Writers Pad San Diego again.

Absolutely Perfect!!!

Wow is really all we can say, the Writers Pad San Diego was exactly what we we needed to get away for the summer. Our 3 week trip turned into a 3 month stay, I reccomend this place to anyone looking for the perfect place to lay their head! Perfect return visit

Another Great Stay!

Our family of four spent 2 wonderful weeks feeling right at home at the Writer’s Pad. We found Lacy’s condo to be so spectacular that this was a return visit! The Writer’s Pad is a clean, updated and quiet condo that has everything from a fully stocked kitchen with newer appliances, comfortable beds, plenty of high quality linens and towels and easy access to laundry facilities, propane BBQ’s and the large outdoor pool and Jacuzzi. The condo features three flatscreen tv’s, fast WiFi, fans for warmer days and plenty of room to relax both inside and outside on the balcony. Owner Lacy made our late arrival check-in a breeze and made sure to leave some much needed beverages and snacks after a long drive. She also left us with a few dates and locations of some fun local attractions to make our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you Lacy for being a wonderful host with attentive and quick communication before, during and after our stay!

Great location great amenities

Me and my two girlfriends loved the stay at this condo. It was comfy and convenient she had lots of amenities . Wonderful host answered any questions. Pool and bbq area was lovely :) everhthing in sd is only 10-30 minutes away . Only thing I would say is to be mindful! Lots of delicate items like guitars and glass decorations in the house to be mindful of . Honestly thought , if your thinking about this place , book it , it was great!

A great place to get away!!

My family has stayed at a lot of places, and this one took one of the top favorites. Just perfect for our family and only a short drive to the beach. I communicated with the owner prior to and it was everything (and more) that she promised. Clean, comfy, and she even had 'treats' available. Some places we've gone, they had very little in way of 'supplies', but it had everything and more! The owner defiantly knew how to take care of her renters!! I would highly recommend it to any couple or family with a few kids.

Comfortable place in a convenient location

We stayed here for one week in April while exploring SD and surrounding area. The directions to the place were clear, and the keys were waiting with some instructions. The kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed the shared jacuzzi multiple nights. WiFi worked well..multiple TVs were present and seemed to work well (we ended up not watching anything beyond 5 minutes of local news). The owner was responsive to our questions. Overall a good experience.

This property is so special because it is in a most ideal location. Easy access to freeway and you can go to La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Mission Bay Downtown San Diego (The Gaslamp District) all within a few minutes! You can also walk just around the corner from this condo to several restaurants, bars, a winery and a brewery... (also a coffee hut, a liquor store and a dry-cleaner). If you don't want to drive that's easy too because evrything is a cheap Uber ride away. The condo has instruments to play and super comfy beds with expensive linens. It has a very sunny livingroom with lots of natural light and gorgeous decor. Everything is newly remodeled.

This property is unique because it is appointed with high-end items. Everything from the mattresses to the sheets to the towels to the glassware and spices and oils provided for cooking. There are far more extras than most vacation rentals offer. It is also an incredibly unique location and has easy access on the freeway to so many San Diego. attractions and areas. Also, there’s many things that you can walk to including brewery, sushi bar, the trolley station. You can also walk down the hill to the bay… There is also a little hidden lake that you can walk to just up the hill from the condo.
