Sandy Retreat at The Sunbird is a 5th floor condo located Directly On the Beach and next door to Pineapple Willy's. Modern and Updated. 1 bedroom Queen bed / 1 bath with Queen sleeper sofa. Gated and Secure. Fully stocked Kitchen. New appliances, linens and furnishings. Conveniently located to restaurants, bars and amusements. 3 pools, New Tennis court / Pickle Ball courts, Shuffleboard. Gym & vending machines on site. Free Beach Chair Set up Mar - Oct. Must be 25 yrs old to Book. Video Doorbell in use for added security. You will be required to pay a Resort Fee upon arrival for Armbands ($6.00 ea.) and Parking pass ($35.00). All Guest 10 years and older must wear an armband while on property.

This was our second time of staying at the Sunbird. Sandy is such a gracious host and is always a text away if you have any questions. Our condo was so clean and our view was just beautiful. I highly recommend this place.

The ocean view was spectacular! The room was clean and as described. Sandy was very easy to communicate with and very prompt to respond to any questions. She went over and beyond to make our stay pleasurable.

Loved our stay! Beautiful inside and the gulf view was amazing. This was our 3rd visit to the Sunbird but. It this unit, definitely would stay in this unit again. Communicate was amazing!

This condo is exactly as described in the listing. The condo was probably the cleanest condo I have stayed in. All the common areas are clean and the property is just well laid out. I came sown solo but if you’re looking for a condo a for a small family I would definitely consider this one. Management checked on me several times during my stay also.

Tolerable at Best

Our stay here resulted in us scrambling to find a different vacation property to stay at within the first hour of our arrival. A nightmare way to begin vacation.When we arrived to the property, we immediately noticed that the AC was set to 74 and stuck on 78. We also observed fans already running in the rooms and a portable AC unit. We immediately called Sandy to inquire about the issue, and it became apparent that she knew about the failing AC system and rented the property anyways. Sandy asked for us to try to troubleshoot the issue ourselves and wait for building maintenance to come check it out the following morning. Unacceptable. The property eventually reached 80, so we booked another VRBO — which was out of our price range but the only available property with such a short notice. We spent our first day of vacation stressed out, sweating, and scrambling to find a place to stay for the upcoming week. 0/10 recommendation — stay clear of this rental. In addition to the AC not working, there were other issues. The floors were so grimey/dirty, that they were slippery. The fridge was not wiped down or cleaned — we had to sanitize the inside before storing our food in it. The cleaner left products on the floor. The soaps were watered down. The advertised queen bed was actually a full sized bed — see photo. The property posting does not accurately represent the bedroom layout. There is a portable AC unit in the bedroom, making the space feel cramped and unwelcoming.

Weekend getaway

Very clean location with all amenities. Fantastic communication prior to and throughout the stay. Was notified before the stay of some AC issues, but decided to stay anyway. The bedroom had a unit and the condo stayed cool. Would recommend to others and would stay again!

Amazing condo and Sandy’s awesome!

We stayed 5 nights at Sandy’s condo. The space was amazing! The condo has everything you need to make a full week out of PCB. The kids slept comfortably on the sofa rollout and the 1 bedroom is amazing. The property itself is very quiet, we never had any issues with noise. The chair service at the beach makes it so easy to just pull up and have fun/relax. Sandy checked in with us off and on throughout the week to make sure we were enjoying our stay. I can’t stress enough how amazing she is and what a wonderful personality she has. She’s very authentic and will do anything to make sure you have the best stay.We will definitely be back as a family next year!

Family Vacay!!

The property was amazing and so was the condo! We will definitely rent again! Communication was perfect and so was our Vacay! It is our new favorite place to stay in Panama City Beach! The Beach chairs were exactly what we wanted to relax on the beach just like we did!! 5 stars all the way around! Oh did i mention we could walk to almost everywhere we wanted to go! Location was perfect also

The view was so beautiful. The Sunbird is a really nice place to stay in Panama City. We were right on the beach. There were a couple of things. I felt the condo needs an all over cleaning. I vacuumed with the small vacume several times a day. The floors would get you feet or socks black from just walking around in the condo. The first time we had ever been there and there was hair all over the floors. It was so bad. I brought my own linen and pillows. Happy I did that because the bed pillows were not good that were there. Yes,I am picky. But the hair was even in the kitchen sink. We did no cooking or anything like that. The condo is so good because of where it is and how nice the complex itself is great. The owner is so very nice. She made everything so great. Thank you for the small vacume. I certainly used it and also the ice maker. Yes I would stay there again. It is a great place. Thank you

First time at PCB

Sandy made sure our stay was everything we wanted. She checked on us several times throughout our stay. This will definitely be a new family tradition vacation staying with Sandy.

Wonderful Condo for a Couple’s Vacation

This is a lovely condo perfect for a couple’s vacation. The condo was clean and tidy with plenty of space to organizing your belongings when you arrive to make yourself feel at home. The view from the condo is perfect for watching sunsets on the beach after a long day of vacationing. My husband and I loved how we were able to walk to the ocean directly from the Sunbird. It’s also within walking distance from several restaurants. The onsite pools were another bonus. My husband enjoyed the onsite gym that had multiple options for both cardio and weight-training. Sandy was a wonderful host and was easy to get in contact with. She was very helpful with answering questions before our stay and made us feel welcome. She goes above and beyond as a host to make everything a smooth process. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend booking this location.

Excellent condo

The owner, Sandy, is a great communicator. We had a hiccup with check in but she was able to get it sorted for us immediately. This was a very clean unit and had a great view. We enjoyed our trip immensely and hope to return soon.

Sandy’s condo

We loved the heated pool. The balcony was perfect for watching and hearing the surf. I would suggest a king size bed. We have one at home and did miss it. Also we would have liked closed caption on the living room tv, but had it on the bedroom tv so we could watch a movie at night. Otherwise the condo was perfect. Clean and comfortable.

Great stay at Sandy Retreat

Check in was quick and easy. Our unit was on the 5 th floor with an excellent view of the beach. Everything worked as it should and was well equipped. Communication was superb. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. The beach chairs and the parking pass were very much appreciated.

Exceeded expectations!

Everything was wonderful and “as advertized.” The host was readily available and checked in via text to see how things were going. The condo was very clean and well stocked. On a couple of rainy days we cooked and lounged on the comfortable sofa watching Netflix and sitting on the balcony. The layout of the large windows provided a view down the beach and not just straight out front. On sunny days the beach chair set up was great and meant we didn’t have to carry our own chairs and umbrella down! The building is right on the beach. The sand was soft and white. We anticipated a large Spring Break crowd but it never materialized during our stay. The beach was not crowded and was very family friendly. We would definitely be happy to stay here again!

Perfect getaway!

The condo was accurately described. Unit was clean and ready for our arrival. Despite its close proximity to Pineapple Willy's (and all the college spring breakers and afternoon/evening traffic) - it was a super quiet and safe unit/condo -- you really can't hear any of your neighbors. Security was present and walking the property regularly. As others have mentioned, Sandy was a phenomenal host! She was quick to respond to any questions prior and checked in the day after we arrived to make sure everything was as expected.

A Beautiful View in a Great Location

I spent a month here and it couldn't have been better. I loved waking up every morning to see the beautiful view of the water and having coffee on the balcony. I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The host was responsive to every question and everything was in place. I liked that the complex was a gated community with good security measures. The apartment and entire property were clean and well cared for. I hope to return again for another long stay.

The perfect place to stay!!!

The view from this condo is perfect! You can see miles down the beach! The sunlight was breathtaking in the mornings, and the sunset was colorful and vibrant. If you’re coming for breathtaking views from Your room and beach this is your place! My husband and I loved every minute of our stay!

I love this condo!!

We really enjoyed our stay and loved this condo. It had a beautiful view and was so clean.The elevators were smooth and no waiting. It we had any questions, Sandy was very quick to respond. We highly recommend and will return in the future!!

The Sunbird has had a major exterior overhaul since Hurricane Michael in 2018. A brand new super large deck with newly resurfaced pools has been completed. Newly purchased Guest luggage carts and updated laundry facility with new coin-free App accessible washers and dryers. Tennis and Pickleball courts have been resurfaced and the Gym has been updated with new equipment.
