Full Duplex with two 2-bedroom, 2-bath homes both with unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico. This is a great property for vacationing with family and friends. This is a really nice set up when vacationing with 2 families or groups with varying activity levels because it allows everyone to hang together during the day, but retreat to their own place at the end of the night when they are ready to wind down.

Looking for a quiet place to relax, fish, kayak and swim that sleeps 8-10 - you've found a very economical option with an incredible view. Take a dip in this crystal clear lagoon free of the noise and congestion you'd encounter on many of the canal homes. Or grab one of our free ocean kayaks, your fins and a mask and explore the crystal clear Gulf. Wide open water views from every window from the living areas of both homes. Newly furnished comfortable interior with all the amenities you'd expect.

This property overlooks a large water cove, deepest point is 25 feet. So much marine life to enjoy right from the dock, including tarpon tailing, manatees, rays and porpoises and snapper.

A neighborhood boat ramp is nearby and it's easy boat access to to our deep water dock that can accommodate your boat or a rental boat in the water. Beyond the cove is the Gulf of Mexico, to the 5 minutes to the east is Vaca Cut ocean access and 10 minutes to the west 7-Mile bridge ocean access.

Relax under a palm tree and take in the sunset, manatees and dolphin. The property includes outdoor dining tables, lounging furniture and hammock.

The homes each have a master bedroom with an en suite bathroom. The guest bedrooms have twin beds, and the living room a pull out queen sofa. Full modern kitchens and lots of storage, cookware, blender, etc. Bedding/linens included. High-speed wireless internet, flat screen TVs.

This rental also includes two 2-person ocean kayaks, beach cruiser bikes, fish cleaning table, fish/bait freezer, gas grills.

Parking available for up to 4 vehicles and 2 boat trailer onsite.

We were right on the water, loved the location. Property manager made it very easy for us to access the property and worked with us when we arrived late and left early due to transportation issues. We felt very comfortable at the property and would want to stay again

Great for families to use both sides. Nice outdoor area. Nice to have use of the kayaks. Joe was very responsive and accommodating! Easy communication. Fantastic view and great location!! Everything was as advertised! We truly enjoyed our stay!

Great stay for large family- needs a few repairs

We had a great time staying at this duplex in Marathon! The location was great and we loved being right on the water. The access to kayaks was amazing and we saw several iguanas on the property and some really cool parrot fish! Communication with the host was great as well as with the property manager Debbie. Check-in and check-out went smoothly.I only put it at 4 stars because there were a few things that weren't working which you would expect to. One half of the duplex is much newer than the other- the older duplex had one shower that barely dripped out any water, the shade in one of the bedrooms was completely torn, and in the other duplex the garbage disposal did not work. We managed without these things totally fine, but obviously would've been ideal to not have any issues. Overall would stay here again and would recommend to large families trying to have a vacay in the keys!

Lovely stay on marathon key

Hated to leave this place. We all had a wonderful time our favorite thing was hanging out at the dock in the back. We even had a family of manatees come right up to us. Felt very safe in the neighborhood. Joe and Debbie are very good to help or answer any questions.

Great property

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the property. The location was great! Beautiful view of cove. The only issue we had was the lack of basic supplies upon arrivalā€¦toilet paper, paper towels. Overall however, it was a great experience and I would recommend the property to anyone looking for a nice, centrally located property.

Fantastic stay

Very clean! Attentive hosts! We rented both sides of the duplex. Plenty of space for all- we had 9 adults and 2 children. We brought 2 boats with us. Plenty of dock area with hoses for washing the boats and equipment off. We really enjoyed the view, as well as the wildlife that we saw in the cove: we saw manatees, tarpon, Iguanas, and turtles galore! Great sunsets. Close to everything. The owner sent a list of restaurants, shopping and things to do that was very helpful. Would stay here again!!!

Great week in Marathon!

This property was perfect for our family. We had our adult children and grandchildren with us for the week. Visiting Key West and seeing the sites in the middle Keys were all easy from this location. We rented a boat one day and used the dock. It was a fantastic week.

Beautiful outside setting, no need to leave!

This property has the best water setting we've stayed at in years. We love to fish and just enjoy being outside in the weather. The hammock was great for Grandma and the seating was plenty. However, I would have loved a recliner to sleep in :) Don't forget your bug spray (common for Florida). We enjoyed manatees and the local loggerhead turtle. My husband caught a few regulation size fish. Marathon is a great location as there are fish markets and grocery stores close by. An hour drive to Key West and 20 minutes to Bahia Honda. The only draw back was it is right across the street from the Marathon airport, which we knew. For those light sleepers, such as myself, it was difficult as they do helicopter tours from there which don't end until 11 pm. Planes started as early as 6 am. We still felt it the lagoon setting was worth the noise.

Wonderful Time

The house location was perfect. We had the most wonderful view. We had lots of sea life visit us daily. Mannie the Manatee as my wife and kids named him, visited us every morning. The Tarpon were very lively. Mr. & Mrs. Pelican stopped by often. A white crane stopped to hangout while fishing off the back dock. The houses were perfect for us, a family of ten that came to stay. Plenty of room and the outside area was what we loved most. My kids took the kayaks out a few times which they really loved. All in all a great location to everything and will definitely be back.

Greatest sunset around!

Went with my family for the week. We loved it! The property is the perfect spot fir views of the cove, the sunset, morning coffee. Absolutely loved it! The manatee came one day which was one of the highlights of the trip. Three different manatee (we named each). A neighbor told us to give them water. They were adorable! We also saw a spotted ray in the cove and a turtle was a daily visitor as well.

Family vacation

We had an excellent time. There was plenty of room for everyone to be together or spread out. The views were amazing. There was so much to do if you wanted to be active. From the bikes to the kayaks, fishing, swimming, and just looking at the stars at night. It was a wonderful time!

Comfortable duplex in paradise

Overall this was a wonderful place. It was comfortable and fairly spacious. It actually is two separate apartments and is great for two families. There isnā€™t a connector between the two, so it did make it a little difficult going from one side to the other, but it wasnā€™t too big of a deal. Aside from a few minor things, it had everything we needed. All of the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels and such. The dishwasher was a bit old and didnā€™t always wash the dishes well, but it was alright. The location was great as well. The sounds of the airport wasnā€™t too bad and the location on the water was perfect. Itā€™s on Gulf side and has great access to the open water without having to go down a canal. We were able to tie up our boat right next to the house and easily go out into the Gulf. It was a great place that Iā€™d recommend.

A great property for our family vacation

A perfect vacation on the water with my family. The house/duplex housed our group of 5 adults and 5 children very well. It isnā€™t a fancy house but had all that we needed to have a great time. We loved the view and ate all of our meals by the water. The kayaks were great. We rented a boat and loved having it right there ready to go out anytime we wanted. Marathon is a great, laid back vacation spot.

We had a large group and had a big time! There is plenty of room to spread out and the view! The view is amazing! The best location to do whatever you wanted. Houses were clean and fully equipped for all of your needs. Sea wall was wonderful! We tied up both boats and was so easy to get on and off. Had a nice storage room to keep all our boat stuff and a ā€œstinkyā€ bait freezer! Lol. Itā€™s a bait refrigerator and freezer! What would anyone expect but stinkyā€™. Canā€™t say enough about this place. The manatees hang out. When one is Coming down the canal the people down the canal echo manatees are coming! So exciting! We caught fish! We used the awesome kayaks that were provided! Pictures are great but canā€™t do enough justice for this place! We will be back!

Awesome views

All of us enjoyed our stay at this property. The views were awesome. We fished right from the dock, kayaked in the cove and rode the bikes that were provided.. The house was perfect for our stay, very clean and plenty of room. If you are looking for a rental in Marathon this is your place. Easy access to restaurants and fishing and anything you. like to do on the water.

An amazing ocean view

Beautiful property ocean view. Breathtaking sunsets. Manatee and loggerhead sea turtle sightings. The nights are filled with stars. Debbie the property manager was amazing. She was helpful and so very nice. We truly felt like we were home.

PLEASE UPDATE AND CLEAN!!!!!

House wasnt as clean as expected. Bait freezer and storage room was gross. I dont know when last time bait freezer was cleaned but there was a blood trail out the door and smell in storage and freezer was just nasty. walked out back and the hammock that was in many of the pictures was laying on the ground with a huge hole in it attached to a broken tree. Should at least remove it. Leaving a broken hammock and rotted tree laying there just shows laziness. Also the concrete table and chairs had to be placed back together. Two of the chairs were laying on the ground. My daughter and wife and I went for a swim in the bay behind the house. My wife cut her leg on a piece of metal that was near the ladder. There were also two bait chum bags still attached to a few pilings, but they were not in water and smelled really bad and the flies were unbearable. should have been removed or at least checked before someone allowed to stay. Then inside house we were informed of the broken range top in one unit and the broken refrigerator drawer. Was told not to use and that owner didnt want to repair until the end of season. The other unit was even worse, the dryer squeeks so bad that you almost had to go outside. You could hear it in the other unit!! My friend went to take a shower and the shower head fell off, we put it back on but it still leaked. The sliding glass door constantly fell off the tracks and was extremely hard for the ladies to open. In either unit the TVs or the WI FI didnt work which was a real bummer as My daughter whom is a teacher had a online covid class she was supposed to be a part of , but with no wi fi she had to use her phone and was a half hour late!! We were told the gas grills hadnt been cleaned and probably needed gas, well they were absolutely disgusting so we had to scrub and clean one just so we could use. Not something you really should have to do when you rent a place for the week. Both grills were so gross, we seriously thought of going to buy another. Last but surely not least were the Garbage cans, They had old beer and other nasty crap in them and they smelled almost as bad as the freezer. Looked like someone just sprayed water in them and thought that was clean enough. My wife and Daughter went and bought Bleach and cleaner so we could at least have a can in the back where we all were hanging out most evenings, again something WE SHOULDNT HAVE TO DO. Could write more but it wont allow. Have pics also if needed.

Family Vacation

Rented property for family vacation middle of July and had a great time. Property was clean and provided all amenities we needed. Airport is across the street, but not a busy airport. Beautiful view is the best part.

I am a married father of two, avid hockey player and fishing enthusiast with a successful track record in waterfront real estate operations and investments. I had always enjoyed my visit to the Keys over the years as I just found the area so unique. I thought it be cool to have a place in the keys that I could use when I visited. Crystal clear waters with sandy white bottoms, warm temps year round, incredible water views, the best fishing and diving available in the Continental U.S. I couldn't think of a better place to own a vacation home. While searching for that perfect Keys home, and having rented homes for my own vacations in the past, I made the decision to only buy a home that could also be a vacation rental. This meant that it had to have an open water view, good accessible dock, and that could be legally rented by the week. I purchase my first property in the City of Marathon in 2009. Today I run a small successful vacation home rental business with 5 homes with my wife Mary.

Why I chose Marathon, FL

Marathon's central location in the Middle Keys was the clear choice. Investment was starting to come into the area after the economic recession. Far enough away from the hustles of life but with the conveniences most people want when they vacation. Marathon was also one of the few areas of the Keys where you can rent homes by the week. All the basic necessities to call it home for many with 2 grocery stores, a Home Depot, library, parks and marine oriented businesses plus a few dozen restaurants/bars, boat rentals, charters and dive shops for its vibrant tourism industry.

So much to do right within the city limits or your backyard if you rent one of our homes. Visit historic Key West, less than an hour drive away.

Purchased in 2009, this home sits on a quiet crystal clear saltwater cove - we like it so much we bought two more homes on his cove in 2011. The home has great water views from every point in the main living area. Unobstructed view of Gulf of Mexico, easy deep water access to our dock, and a relaxing tropical setting and great outdoor experience

With this full duplex our guests get two beautifully decorated and very comfortable homes on the same property. This is a great set-up when vacationing with large groups or extended family with varying energy levels. Hang out together all day but retreat to your own private residence at the end of the day - or party together - it's your choice because it's all yours when you're vacationing at this great property. All the amenities of home. Two full kitchen with custom cabinets and granite counter, full dining areas, comfortable couches, flat screen TVs, premium cable, high-speed wireless internet access, and phones. It's of course stocked with all the kitchen ware, linens, and towels. I also offer kayaks and bikes for your recreation
