There are only 3 oceanfront buildings at the Papakea. The "F" building is the only one that is away from the parking lots. So, you won’t hear any car noise, just the sound of the waves.

Papakea Resort is a unique property unlike any other property. The resort is famous for being the least dense resort on the west side of maui - with 11 low-rise buildings on 13 acres. It has a wide open, uncrowded feel, koi ponds, lush tropical landscaping, pools & spas, 2-18 hole putting greens and grassy sunning areas.

The resort is conveniently located. There is shopping and entertainment withing walking distance. The staff and guests were very friendly. I would gladly return someday!

This unit was perfect for us. Beautiful ocean front view for whale watching. Centrally located and the owners were very helpful in extending our stay. We will definitely return to this unit in the future.

Amazing Vacation in Maui

This one bedroom apartment was a perfect home base for all the fun we had during our recent vacation in Maui. And having a beautiful patio to enjoy the morning birdsong and spectacular sunsets was a sheer delight! We want to go back and stay again as soon as we are able.

Unbeatable view

The view was the absolute best! Going to sleep every night to the sound of the ocean waves was pure bliss. Everything I needed was provided, such as kitchenware, even some nice spices, salt and pepper. There were plenty of bath towels and even 2 beach towels to use, along with beach chairs, an umbrella, a boogie board and a small cooler. The bed was comfy and so were the couch and chair. Julie was awesome in communicating with me and answering any questions I had. I enjoyed my two weeks at Papakea and felt rested and recharged. Mahalo!

Amazing Location, Excellent Property/Facilities

Papakea is a very well manicured and a beautifully landscaped condominium complex - the pools are well maintained too. This unit is RIGHT on the ocean, the closest you can get. It is fairly described so I knew I was getting a murphy bed. It was comfortable though.

Beautiful location

The location of this property is perfect. It’s not too far from restaurants and shops but not in the middle of them so it’s busy and congested. We stayed in February, watching the whales during morning coffee was amazing! The unit itself is small and doesn’t have much storage but for 2 people it’s adequate. The Murphy bed is surprisingly comfortable and wasn’t a big deal at all. As others have said, the parking is terrible! There don’t seem to be enough spots and they are so tiny. We rented a convertible and more then once my husband had to park and climb out the top because the spots were too small to open the doors! Overall, the stay was ok. Some good, some bad.

I love Maui!

To start - nothing beats being right off the water and seeing whales and turtles! We watched the sunset each evening and relaxed to the sound off the waves. The condo was well equipped and had everything one could need. The resort was beautiful and had lots of activities. I was a little disappointed to discover (after I booked) to find it was a studio and not a 1 bedroom. My fault for not looking more closely at the pictures of the unit. However, it was problematic for us since my wife goes to bed early and gets up VERY early. Murphy bed was ok, but not overly comfortable. That being said, it was an amazing trip!

Great stay on Maui

The room was exactly as advertised with a fantastic oceanfront view. It was super clean and had easy access to restaurants and entertainment at Java Jazz. Loved our stay.

Room With a view!

We loved our stay here. We woke up to the beautiful ocean view from our bed and then a few steps out to the patio with our coffee. Spent the days traveling Maui and came back to the condo hot tub, pool and again a spectacular evening view of the stars and the sound of the waves! Loved it!

Right on the ocean. Two pools, two hot tubs. The unit is small, and could use some updating, but we thought the location was perfect.

Perfect

Perfect for a romantic getaway. Thought we would use the AC, but never did. Sleeping with the fan on and the window open to the waves was absolutely amazing. We saw multiple turtles swim by us during the day. Kitchen is big and has everything you need. Location is great. The ocean view is just so great, looks right at sunsets and is awesome for waking up to morning coffee on the balcony. The only hesitation we had before booking was the foldup bed and not having a separate bedroom, but this was a total non-issue. The bed is really comfortable and situated right by the back door, which we left open at night (screen door closed). If one of you gets up early and the other hates to be woken up, maybe a place with a separate bedroom would matter, but this was cozy, romantic, and perfect for us. The grounds are really nice too, multiple pools and hot tubs, a dozen grills, so I never had to wait for one and the pools were never too crowded.

Morning walk

Loved our stay.. loved our walks out the door along the water front board walk...past black rock. Grocery stores are within walking distance. It was nice the owners provided beach chairs.

Great Unit and Location. Fantastic views

We loved our stay at Papakea. The studio has a fantastic view with ocean 30 ft away. Pull down the bed and you sleep with sound of the waves. We’ll be back here for sure.

The view from the unit was spectacular!!! We could hear the waves crashing from the bed. There is beach chairs for your use with a cooler. That came in very handy. The unit had air conditioning if you wanted to use, we never did. We like to enjoy the nice breezes. The grounds are beautiful and the pools are super nice. The beach is easy to get to, I walked it every morning. We will definitely be going back.

The location was very convenient for shopping and dining. Beach access is limited, but not a far walk south to a longer stretch of Kaanapali Beach. The place was very quiet and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and kept things clean and looking good. The guests weren't very friendly, but it was Maui and we got over that quick.

Our son’s destination wedding!

My wife and I went to Maui for our son’s wedding and some relaxation before the big event. We truly enjoyed our stay in spite of Hurricane Lane constant threat of hitting the island. The condo was very well stocked and made it a real pleasure. We would highly recommend it to anybody that enjoys comfort and ocean views.
