La Mer: The Sea. La Mer rises up from the hillside of Bordeaux Mountain, overlooking Coral Bay Harbour.  Experience sweeping views of the British Virgin Islands from your private pool and balcony and constant cross breezes from the Caribbean Sea. 

The open floor layout of the living room and dining area encourage a comfortable and breezy social space to relax with your family or friends. Each bedroom is situated to provide privacy for each individual and features king size beds.

The home is located just a few minutes from Coral Bay, where you can provision, explore beaches and experience local dining.

Beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler are provided for your convenience.

Please note that this home has a security camera pointed into the driveway.

A virtual guide is provided upon booking. The guide provides information about how to get to St. John, car rental suggestions, as well as restaurant, hiking and beach info. It will help eliminate a lot of research time on your end!

Important: Rates are based the amount of rooms that are booked/ how many guests you have. For example, if you have 2 couples in your party, then you will most likely only need two bedrooms. We will charge only for those two rooms and the others will be locked. Please let us know if you have any questions here.

The property is beautiful. Views are amazing. Kitchen was very well appointed. Beds are very comfortable. A few items guests may want to know: bedrooms do not have shades - can be very bright, especially on the upper levels, but we saw many gorgeous sunrises. The driveway, like many on St John, is tight and steep, especially with the owner's car parked there, so if you will have more than 1 vehicle, be prepared to back in/out and/or manuever to turn around. Hoping the main entrance door can be repaired quickly, it would make access to the main living/kitchen much more convenient. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Perfect and authentic St. John

La Mer was the exactly what we were looking for. Yes, you need to navigate up the mountain, BUT you are rewarded with a million dollar view of Coral Bay and the BVI’s by day and the most beautiful sounds and sky at night. The house is stocked and feels like a spa. I cried when we left!

This property is the most beautiful one we have stayed at in Coral Bay. The vistas from every angle, balcony and walkway are incredible. The trade winds were cooling and refreshing. The furniture in the living room, decks and bedrooms were well appointed and comfortable. The dining areas were perfect. The kitchen was spacious and well appointed. We were thrilled to have found this gorgeous property and plan to return.

A slice of Heaven

We had an incredible time during our week long stay at La Mer. I will certainly miss waking up to that view every day. The pictures on the vrbo site don't quite do it justice. I was traveling with my family. We had 4 couples and the four bedrooms were perfectly spread out so that we each had plenty of privacy. The property provided everything we needed, including beach chairs and coolers to take to the beaches. We ate in for breakfast and a few dinners, and the large kitchen provided everything we needed for making meals. There were spaces in the drive way for our 2 jeep rentals. You will have to do a bit of maneuvering for 2 vehicles going in and out, but nothing too problematic. Karen was super helpful with anything we needed. The water had shut off during one of the days . I texted her and she was there within a couple of hours to switch the cisterns. Come to think of it, it was a Sunday and also Mother's day, so I was shocked to see such a quick response given it was a holiday. Thank you again Karen for such a lovely holiday! We definitely hope to visit again soon!

Jerry’s big adventure

Property was top notch; however difficult to navigate. My bedroom had no closet for clothing. I had to hang everything on the bench. Our party had to maintain the leaking pool and filter. Also, where did the hammock go. One last comment. When leaving the pool decking onto tile, that 3inch difference is a trip hazzard. Every day we tripped. Please add maybe a piece of yellow strips to show that there is a hight difference. Not being picky but just saying what needed to be looked over. My bathroom did not have hand soap and little body wash in the shower. Overall, the property was amazing.

Beautiful home for multiple families!

La Mer was perfect for our family’s get-away. The 3 separate buildings made for a very comfortable stay for 3 couples plus a few kids. We were able to enjoy the common kitchen area, outdoor spaces and large deck for meals and games, but we all had plenty of private space to relax in our own bedrooms. The breeze at the top of the mountain is amazing, making 85 degree temps feel very comfortable. We also had a prime view when rain clouds rolled in from the east and took some great pics. Our kids loved the pool, and we all loved the open air bathroom showers. Felt like paradise! Also, we had no trouble getting up the steep hills in our rented minivan. No jeeps were available (reserve early!!), so we crossed our fingers and did fine with the minivan. (But that first time up was a little hair-raising!) :) We loved this home near Coral Bay. We all agreed that the east side of the island felt much more relaxed and less crowded than Cruz Bay on the west side. Would love to come back to La Mer!

Amazing Home on St. John

La Mer was everything we could have hoped for during our stay. The house was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed. The set-up is great, with a large kitchen/living area for everyone to gather, but the rooms are separate for when people wanted space. Every balcony had a spectacular view of Coral Bay. We loved that the house had beach towels, ice chests, and chairs that we could use for trips to the beach. The only caveat is the drive up to the house. Make sure you've got a vehicle that can handle the steep inclines and sharp turns. Other than that, this house was fantastic and we would love to stay again.

Great stay in a wonderful villa

Had a wonderful stay here in July. The property is everything you would hope for and perhaps the best thing I can say about it is that there were no disappointments. The kitchen and all the pots, dishes, utensils, etc. were great (we ate in nearly every day and the kitchen had everything we needed and then some), the furniture and property overall showed that it's well taken care of and great quality (and the bed was really comfortable), and the property overall has a light and airy feel to it. We wondered whether we should be concerned about the lack of A/C but it's so high up and the breeze is so constant that there were only a couple of evenings where we even thought about it (and that's when the breeze had died down a bit so we turned on the overhead fans). Most evenings you'd be comfortable in a long-sleeved shirt once the sun goes down. We debated between staying "up high" or down closer to the water, and we liked the views so much that we'll be staying up the hill again next time. We're not big pool users, but the pool was a pleasant temperature to jump into on hot days. It's a great location if you want to be close to both the north and the south beaches. Also, I can't say enough about the great service from Windspree, the property manager. When our flight down was canceled they immediately agreed to shift our rental period by a day since it was available. The only thing we'd recommend is a stronger wifi router so it can reach to the master bedroom.
