Home has TWO PRIVATE master bedrooms and two separate living areas, there is room for everyone to do just as they please! Sunbathe poolside or sit on either one of two covered decks and enjoy the cool sea breeze. When you are ready for a stroll, follow your private beach access with private boardwalk to the beach and plunge into the Gulf's blue-green waters.

We provide a discounted rate on the use of a kayak, 2 paddleboards, beach chairs and umbrellas.

Location on the Gulf was primo. Private pool was one of the best features. It was a pretty pool with great landscaping. Large kitchen. The owner was a great communicator and responsive to all of our questions.

Great family trip

We had a wonderful and relaxing time. The house was perfect for the family to visit together with lots of seating and open concept. Clean. Quick to go back and forth between the house, the beach, and the pool.

Reel Deal is The Real Deal

We absolutely loved our time at The Reel Deal. House was fantastic and perfect place on the beach. You pretty much have a private beach just a few steps from the house. It was nice to have a private pool to come back up to after a few hours down on the beach. Its in a gated community which we really loved. Gordon was so great to deal with and we will be back next year. We have finally found our perfect beach home rental.

Amazing week!

SGI never disappoints and The Reel Deal held up its end of the bargain! Everything about the house was as described and if I had to pick an area of improvement, it would be to provide 2 bath towels/washcloths per person.

Great Get Away

Great place for family vacation

We visited A Reel Deal with another family and had a great trip! The view from the deck is beautiful and the house is well maintained. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing week. Gordon, the owner, did a great job communicating with us about the trip. I hope we can return someday.

I cannot praise this property enough! My family and I have stayed on the island for almost 30 years and this is by far our favorite house. The location, the floor plan, the cleanliness, and the host are exceptional. I cannot wait to book for next year.

A Great Spot!

Loved this property. It was very well appointed with all the needs for a great beach stay. The pool was wonderful and being within the plantation was quiet and peaceful. We were welcomed by Dolphins on our check in day and got to enjoy seeing them all week long. The host was very gracious and attentive and made sure everything was as requested. We took our family (all adult children and spouses) with us and they also greatly enjoyed the property. Loved the fact that we could walk out on the back deck, down the steps and be at the beach or pool. I would highly recommend this property.

Perfect trip!

Traveling with children, it's rare that a trip meets my expectations, but our stay at A Reel Deal was wonderful. We were steps from the beach and could go put our toes in the sand for five minutes or two hours without much preparation. The house was lovely, and we absolutely loved the pool! We fully utilized the kitchen, and there was more than enough room for our family (5 adults and 2 kids). We've already talked about going back!

Gordon is very responsive and helpful. The house, pool and especially the location are wonderful. Why did we give it a 4 on expectations? There were some broken items we believe should be replaced before new customers come in. Would rent again. YES!

Older siblings get together

The location could not be beat. Beautiful ocean views, saw dolphins every morning while having coffee on the deck. Nice large private pool is another advantage. The forgotten coast doesn't have crowded beaches but the beach in front of the house almost felt private. I will definitely choose this rental again when returning to St George Island.

Annual beach week

As 4th generation Apalachicola folks… we were very familiar with the area. We had not stayed in the Plantation side of the island. What a wonderful treat!!! Spent a wonderful week with friends and our dogs. The house is perfect! LOTS of space for everyone. Fully appointed with everything you need. Cooked out a few times, enjoyed local restaurants on others. The house is also very safe as we stayed during the hurricane. Beach was also perfect for shells, relaxing, kite flying, and wave surfing. We will Definitely be back! Highly recommend!!

I invite you to share the natural wonder that is St. George Island. Whether you are planning your first visit or returning for your annual family reunion, there is much to explore and enjoy on the 28-mile long and one mile wide barrier island. Uncrowded, natural beaches, free from high rises, traffic and crowds, offer many simple pleasures – excellent fishing, kayaking, outstanding bird watching and awesome star gazing – just to name a few. And the beaches are pet friendly, so no one gets left behind at vacation time!

The Gulf of America, The Apalachicola Bay and the Apalachicola River converge to form one of the most productive estuaries in the world. These island waters are nationally recognized as a fisherman’s paradise. Fresh oysters and sweet, plump shrimp are harvested locally and sold at the numerous fresh seafood dealers. You may also enjoy these seafood delicacies at the excellent restaurants on St. George Island and nearby Apalachicola and Eastpoint.

There are a number of full service marinas and public launch ramps available in Apalachicola, Eastpoint, Carrabelle, and now on St. George Island. Enjoy guided excursions to nearby uninhabited islands, national wildlife preserves and the Apalachicola River. The Dr. Julian G. Bruce State Park at the eastern end of the Island also provides excellent kayaking launches.

Loggerhead sea turtles are an important part of life on St. George Island. Loggerheads return to their own hatching grounds to nest and lay eggs between May and November.

Nearby Apalachicola has much to offer with its boutiques, art galleries, antique shops, Dixie Theatre presentations, historic museums, live marine exhibit and many excellent restaurants. Visit the Apalachicola Bay website for a year round Calendar of Events and find activities you can enjoy no matter what time of year you are here.

Bring your own bicycles, or rent them from one of the shops, and enjoy the Island’s 6.3 mile bike path - from 12th Street West to the State Park. Pack your binoculars for native and migratory bird watching. And gaze at the stars in the magnificent sky, unobstructed by the glare of city lights.

The newest addition to the Island is the majestic Cape St. George Light, rebuilt from the fallen remains of the final Cape St. George Lighthouse. Visit the St. George Island Visitor Center and Lighthouse Museum and learn about its fascinating history.
