Welcome to The Island On Lake Travis, an elegant condo complex that offers luxurious Lake Travis waterfront accommodations located on a 14-acre island. This gated resort offers condos for rent whether it be long or short term. A very unique aspect about our property is each condo is done to individual owners taste.
The Island on Lake Travis is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing romantic escape, and enjoy wildlife and breathtaking sunset views over the lake.
There are plenty of local attractions to explore to keep you busy if you are looking for something fun and exciting to do. Take a day trip to Marble Falls or Fredericksburg, check out one of the 18 hole golf courses nearby, or enjoy a wine tasting at a Flat Creek Winery!
When you rent from Island Rentals, you can expect top-notch customer service, and dedication to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Each of our condo's come with a fully equipped kitchen and linens for the bedrooms and baths. Covered Parking is on ground level with reserved parking, and additional "guest" spaces as well. There are 5 elevators on property.
We provide our guests with check in information prior to their arrival, which will include the front gate code, assigned parking spaces, directions to the condo and door code for added convenience. (Front Desk Check In is not required, and allows guests to arrive and access condo late at night if necessary).

Love the Island!

Love the view, the balcony. We loved being able to use the kitchen and not have to drive downtown. We also had dinner and breakfast at the cafe on site. We typically stay "in town" when we come to lake travis, but we'll stay at the Island again. It costs more than a standard motel, but is so much better.

Boaters Beware!

Nice property, great location if you do not go there for boating but we did. Website stated there was a on site boat ramp and trailer parking - there was not. The boat ramp was closed and looked like it had been closed for a long time. No trailer parking available but for a fee you can pay $50 for a boat slip and park at the boat ramp 20 minutes away, which has a $15 per day park fee. We were disappointed about the false advertising. Other than that, great stay. Nice property.

Critical Disappointment

We are Winter Texans & have stayed at various units at The Island over the past number of years. Although the location offered great views & the natural light & unit size were very good, this condo is old & tired. It needs an overall upgrade & deep cleaning. The furnishings were uncomfortable especially the couches. The general maintenance has not been kept up over the years. Hopefully a renovation can be done to bring this unit up to the standards The Island is known to offer.

I think this unit could use some upgrades. The couch was worn out ( it seems it's been there for over 20 years), the shower paint was peeling really bad at the ceiling, there were crumbs on the couch as I checked in, the pillows were heavily soiled and nasty (we had to go to the dollar general to purchase sheets, blankets and towels. The mattress cover needed to be changed. The front door needs some work because it's hard to open. The laundry room floor was dirty and nasty (the pan was soiled with grime and dirt. We stayed away from the condo as much as possible because of the uncomfortable living conditions. The community grounds were well kept and seeing the deer was the highlight. The residents were also friendly. We left the unit in great and clean condition upon checking out. I even left you some cute plastic wine glasses and two carafes for your next guest to enjoy.

My Experience

The water from bathtub at the moment of turning it on the water began to splash everything outside the tub and all my makeup and my boyfriend stuff was wet, all water was in the floor and we have to use all our towels to dry out and we did not have any extra towels, not enough amenities like shampoo, conditioner, soap. Dryer for our clothes was not working properly we had yo hang everything in the balcony šŸ˜’ Ice maker was not making ice took too long to have some after many many hours of turning it on Sofa is too old not comfortable I won't come back to that apartment but I will give a second chance maybe to another one, because place in general was beautiful, shame the water in the lake is not enough anymore to go all the way around the complex

AC Not Working for entire time!! It was 85C inside the apartment!!

We had to call and were promised a reduccion in payment and they would give many back. Will let you know if we get something back.

Ewwwwww - Needed some major attention - cleaning and a wrench

There were items left from prior rental - an ID on the mantel and hair tie under the table which led me to believe cleaning was not thorough. Then, in the cabinet was a bag of potatoes growing more potatoes which is more than just the last renter. THEN, in the bathroom drawer was some nasty old comb, razor and a pack of Preparation H suppositories!! Cant make that up! Clearly so gross the cleaning staff didnt even want to touch it. Shower head sprayed all over the place like the old college joke when you rubber band the spray nozzle at the kitchen sink for the next guy. Nothing a wrench tightening couldnt fix but was quite startling to get showered outside of the shower. Booking was easy and the office staff was great, fast and responsive. I also asked for a fresh comforter as there was only a bedspread which clearly was not/could not have been washed from last rental and it was brought up right away. Bottom line: Upside - office staff/property management Downside - cleaning needs to get major attention and the unit could use some simple updating and attention to make it feel cleaner as well. Definitely not worth what the nightly rate is.

No Fireworks

This place is dead. We were not told the Restaurant was permanently closed BEFORE we booked. I want my money back. The nearest place to get some food (all fast) is 20 minutes away. The pool closed at 9 PM in order to disinfect. They could do this after 11. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Great Getaway resort

This is a fantastic area for vacation with family , great outdoors , majestic views , lots of fun fishing and with water sports . Only down side is there was some dust on the appartment witch flare up everyones allergies . Overall 4.9 starts of 5

Had to check in early check out even earlier. My clothes got stuck in the washer dryer combo. Had to leave them there. 2 hrs later get a call they got my clothes out. Got harassed by a neighbor. She was a racist it was one of the worst trips ever!!!!

Stunningly Beautiful I forgot I was in Texas

This is an excellent escape from the everyday hustle. The Island doesn't disappoint. I felt like I was vacationing in Spain. It felt nothing like texas at all. The home was clean and homey. I would definitely Reccomend and I will be back soon.

Great vacation get away

We've stayed here before and each time it's more enjoyable. Clean, organized, peaceful, and all amenities are right where you need them. We plan on staying again sometime in September. We feel this will be our regular vacation spot. Thank you!

We loved staying at the Highland Lakes Estate! The appliances were a little outdated and we wished there was a K-cup coffee maker because we brought K cups. The pillows were not great either. We recommend bringing your own. The views were to die for and the pool areas were great! We only left the estates for coffee, breakfast and dinner! Amazing experience and stay over all! Would do it again!

Great value

Unit was a great value, enjoyed the island and lake Travis. Only drawback was no television for the entire stay. Maintenance was quick to respond however nothing could be done for the entire stay. Hot water was warm at best, regardless of how long it was on. Unit was clean and maintained.

It was OK

Nice and clean condominium, but the wind howling was too loud and we were unable to sleep because of the sound. Not sure, if this is the case all the time or just our bad luck. The room was warm due to the fact that the AC was set on 76 and we were unable to change the thermostat.

Older fixtures but comfortable and convenient

Original kitchen it appears and seashore decorating make this unit odd at first glance But all in all it works. The location in the complex is good and it helps to have the washer dryer combo. TV could be nicer and larger but we didn't watch too much anyway. Will return.

Great stay, for the price!

My overall experience staying at the condo was quite well. It was very clean & a decent size for our stay. I'm happy to say that I was very satisfied with the condo but one minor flaw was not having WiFi (which was noted in the description before I booked) not a big deal but it would've been great to have it since my son likes to use the ipad to play on. The restrooms were spacious and clean as well as the kitchen. I would definitely stay here again. It was nice that there was both an indoor and outdoor pool. However there was no laundry facility so make sure to pack lots of extra towels.
