Truckee 4 Season Mountain Retreat/Hot Tub - Great Location

Enjoy all the seasons in this mountain retreat. The 3 bedroom / 2 bath home with loft & hot tub sits among Aspen and Pine trees on a flat, sunny lot that backs to a green belt in desirable Tahoe Donner, Truckee. This ideal location is a stone's throw from Tahoe Donner golf course and recreation center and only minutes from winter skiing, summer tennis, biking, hiking, equestrian center, private beach at Donner Lake and the historic town of Truckee.

The mountain cabin has been completely updated and fashionably remodeled with all energy efficient elements and decorated with designer touches everywhere. Enjoy this well-appointed home, fully furnished with woodstove, surround sound, DVD, Satellite on 4 TVs (3 are flat screen) and WiFi. The bedrooms sleep a maximum of 8 in two queens and two sets of bunks - one with a futon that opens to a double. There is central heat, on demand water heater, a built in humidifier, washer/dryer, full kitchen with granite counters, Stainless Kitchenaid dishwasher and refrigerator, gas Jennair range and Gaggenau cooktop for gourmet food prep.

The backyard BBQ, rock patio and lounge chairs make for great summer festivities and the hot tub is ideal for year round soaking and star gazing.

Come for a week or a weekend. Play outdoors or snuggle inside by the fire. Create casual or elegant meals, watch movies, nap in the backyard hammock and end every day relaxing in the hot tub.

Sorry, I won't accept back to back reservations-guests arriving and departing the same day.

(Note: There is a totally separate apartment above the garage (ADU) with its own entrance that the owner or a long term renter may be using during your stay.

A surveillance camera is located in the entrance hallway of main house overlooking front entrance and door from garage.)

Elizabeth is an excellent host and maintains a very quaint clean well appointed home. This is not a rental property. It is someone's lived in home. The home is very well cared for and the expectation is that anyone staying in the home take good care of the place. This is probably not the best rental for a bunch of college kids wanting to party or a family with really young children as there are lots of little trinkets and things for a little hands to break. For anyone else this is a great place to stay with a lovely, hot tub and a very responsive host.

Elizabeth's property is awesome

Really wonderful house

Perfect trip

Wonderful place!

Great place to stay in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck or in the clean hot tub. No surprises, all was good.....Elizabeth was lovely to talk to, but she also gave us our space too.

Annual jeep trip

This property served us well. Located in a central location that gave us access to many areas of off road access and fishing. Only minutes from the town of Truckee with many restaurants, grocery stores or any ammenities you might need. The house is located on a quiet street, with the exception of our car alarm going off at 6:30am on a Sunday morning! Property is dog friendly which worked out great for us. Elizabeth was available for any issues, if we had any, which we did not. We would stay at the house again when visiting the Truckee area!

Great location and house

The house was perfect for a family and had all the amenities you would need. The location was close to trail heads for biking, Donner Lake for swimming and paddleboard or whatever you fancy, and close to Truckee for dinner and local boutique shopping. The homeowner was easy and great to work with as well.

Would have been good to know..

The family loves Truckee, Donner Lake, and the vicinity. Something that would have been good to know about this property before making final payment, is that the owner lives on the property. It was uncomfortable for the family to have the owner present most of the time as we tried to relax.

Truckee adventure - best choice ever

After HEAVILY researching the Truckee area for a place to stay during our son's attendance at Camp Woodward (Boreal) we settled on the Tahoe/Donner area and Elizabeth's "4 Season Retreat" and I think we really lucked out. Leading up to the trip, Elizabeth was SUPER responsive to all our questions about the property so we were well informed on all the things. We had some car troubles on the way to Truckee that needed immediate attention and Elizabeth went above and beyond to help us out which really made our stress level go down and let us enjoy our vacation. She also provided lots of great recommendations on things to do and restaurants to visit. She was SO HELPFUL and went way above and beyond anything I have experienced from any other vacation rental owner. The property was perfect for our family of 4 and had all the amenities we needed. It was very clean, everything worked great and we had no issues whatsoever. Guest Access to the rec center was great and we used that a couple times to go to the rec center and the beach/marina down at Donner Lake. The town of Truckee was only a 10 min drive away so it was super easy to shop for groceries, visit restaurants, etc. North Lake Tahoe was about a 30 min drive. MTB trails were also super fun and can be accessed within 1 mile of house. OVERALL a 5 star review from us!! Highly recommend!!

Great stay!

Elizabeth was a great host. Her place was clean, comfortable, and puppy-friendly. The location is great, close to nice hiking trails and a short drive to Truckee. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed to cook. The internet connection was good too. We enjoyed relaxing on the patio and hot tub. We will definitively be back!

Great well equipped home close to slopes and town.

A perfect home for a compatible group. Hot tub, wood stove, great appliances, sharp knives, comfortable beds, and linens. Many TVs with every possible channel. Quiet neighborhood.

Great Stay and Awesome Location

Elizabeth is great at communicating, we never had any issues reaching her. The house is very well-maintained and has pretty much everything you would need. Beds were very comfortable (which is hard to find at a lot of STRs). The wooded area in back is huge and was a great place for our kid to play and sled. Lastly, the hot tub was perfect after skiing everyday. We would love to stay here again in the future.

Great family stay

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at this property. It had all the amenities we needed, a lovely comfortable homely feel, with plenty of space for us all. The children loved playing with the provided snow saucers in the Amazing outdoor space at the back. My husband was very grateful for the comfortable, well equipped office space he could use for his work and the fast Wi-Fi which had no problem handling 3 simultaneous zoom calls. Location was ideal for skiing and picking up food/shopping. Great hostess who was very attentive to our needs. Can't wait to come back!

Overbearing host

The house was fabulous. Great deck and yard. We greatly enjoyed the hot tub. The problem was the host is extremely over bearing. For example, she lives two houses down and stopped by 4 times in one day. She shown flashlights in the guests eyes upon arrival confirming who they were. Also came by when we were in the hot tub and was just lingering around. We were very flexible guests and respectful of her home, but we did not pay all that money to have the owner hovering over our stay, especially during a pandemic when she wasn’t wearing a mask. Also we had friends stay in their sprinter van overnight and she charged us for 2 extra guests. Just a heads up.

After many years of seasonal rentals in the Tahoe area I chose to buy in Truckee and especially in Tahoe Donner because of the close proximity to year round activities and the great, small town feel of the community.

My house is a stone's throw away from all the amenities in Tahoe Donner; ski & cross country areas, pools, gym, golf course, hiking trails, the Lodge for fabulous dining and my back deck and yard are great for summer entertaining.
