Centered in the Heart of the Historic District, Modern Retreat is on tree-lined Oglethorpe Avenue, within walking distance of everything Savannah has to offer! After undergoing an extensive renovation, no detail was spared while furnishing this space. Located in the YWCA Building established in 1903, you'll be enriched in history from the moment you step into the building.

Take the elevator or stairs up to the second floor where Modern Retreat awaits your arrival. Boasting with tall ceilings and natural light, each room has been finished with cool tones and comfortable furnishings. The gathering room has an ample amount of seating for your entire party to gather; whether you're watching a movie, playing a card game or preparing for a day of adventure, there is room for everyone! Beyond this space, you'll find the tastefully designed kitchen with brand new stainless steel appliances. You'll have everything needed to prepare home cooked, intimate meals and cocktails.

The primary bedroom can be found just past the living room and features a King bed, smart television, and a spacious closet for all of your belongings. Each room features a luxurious an ensuite bathroom with shower/tub combo that have been fully remodeled. Natural light fills the second bedroom, which also features a plush King size bed, a smart television, and a large closet.

Youā€™ll be steps away from the cityā€™s most sought after attractions ā€“ bustling River Street, Broughton Street shopping, Telfair Museum, Savannah Theatre, the Cathedral, Forsyth Park and more ā€“ are all within easy walking distance.

Parking for this home is on-street and metered, with enforcement by the City of Savannah Monday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm. Guests may conveniently pay using the ParkSavannah app, feed the meter or parking kiosks directly, or utilize a nearby public parking garage. Pre-paid visitor parking passes are available for purchase at the Parking and Mobility Services office. Please take note of posted Sweep Zone signs when parking on the street.

We can welcome your dog companions at this pet friendly home, but ask that you find other arrangements for cats, birds, and other furry friends. There is a $130 pet fee (non-refundable) with a 35 lb. maximum weight limit per dog and a limit of 2 dogs per reservation. Some homes may allow larger dogs, please inquire for more information.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: You can't beat the location, and the space is great for two couples, since it has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The apartment was quite clean, and the living area, bedrooms, and bathrooms are good-sized. The kitchen is a little tight, but that didn't really impact us as we didn't cook anything during our stay. I don't really have any complaints. The apartment was great for our priorties (location, size, and cleanliness).

Excellent location, very clean. Some road noise in one of the bedrooms but really not bad overall compared to hotels on bay street. We're planning to stay here again next time we're in town.

We had a great time and loved staying here. The place is so comfortable and very clean. The best part is that it is centrally located and walking distance to everything in downtown Savannah. We will definitely stay here again when we make another trip to this beautiful city!

Easy walk everywhere

Within 15 minute walk to everything in downtown Savannah. Clean and quiet during our stay. Check-in process was smooth. Beds were comfortable. Handicap access into the building is not available. We had two senior dogs that can't go up entry stairs but we were able to carry them up and down.

We loved Modern Retreat. It is a perfect place for two couples with both bedrooms having their own bathroom. It is easy walking distance to all places in Historic Savannah District. Very clean and had everything we needed.

Nice roomy 2BR/bath in good location

Each bedroom has a king bed and adjoining bathroom. We walked to everything except Tybee Island. What a beautiful area, lots of shaded squares, so it didn't feel as hot as temps said. A strange sticky spot on sheets in one bed, as well as night noise on the street side were the only cons; Overall a great stay. Nicely appointed kitchen.

Great location/stay

Property is very centrally located which makes for easy walking to nearby restaurants, river street, etc. Every where you want to be within about a 10 minute walk. Kitchen is very tight but well suited should decide to prepare a meal. Controlled access to building was nice and easy. Was able to consistently get on the street parking on Oglethorpe (2hr 8-8). If park one street to the south, parking is 1hr 8-5. Size wise, well-suited for 2-4 adults.Comments from others are accurate and our experience was very positive with no negative issues/concerns. Would definitely stay again if opportunity is available.
