Privately nestled in the woods, Bait's Motel is a spacious property with plenty of room to spread out. Updated in 2024 and in 2025, the home has a variety of comfortable spaces for gathering, relaxing, and playing.

**Notice of Potential Property Showings: Please be advised that the property is on the market for sale. As such, there may be occasions during your stay when real estate agents may request to show the property to prospective buyers. We will make every effort to provide you as much notice prior to any scheduled showings and minimize any inconvenience to you.

The open-concept floor plan creates a sense of airiness and flow throughout the property. The step-down living room has is a welcoming space, with a Smart TV and decorative fireplace, adorned with large windows adjacent to the open aired porch. A full-sized air hockey game sits next to the living room for indoor fun and has a dry bar for convenience.

The fully equipped kitchen has been thoughtfully supplied to cater to your culinary needs. It features stainless appliances, ample counter space, and window seating. For al fresco dining, a screened porch sits just outside the kitchen area. In addition, there is a more formal dining table with plenty of seating.

Bait's Motel offers four well-appointed bedrooms upstairs, each providing a peaceful sanctuary for restful nights. The large primary bedroom has a king bed and an ensuite bathroom. The three other bedrooms offer a room with queen bed, a room with two twin beds and in 2024, a bunk room featuring four beds was added, All bedrooms have Smart TVs. Two full baths are in the upstairs hallway.

Downstairs is a media room with another TV. The home has lots of games for family fun.

A porch swing is on the exterior next to the Weber propane grill. In addition, a full-size stand-alone freezer is inside, and an additional fridge is in the garage.

The home comes with three golf carts: a 6-seater, a 4-seater and 4-seater convertible.

Despite its seclusion, the property is conveniently located near South Beach, BHI Club and the market/shops.

Guests may apply for ā€œhouseā€ membership (dining and pools, no golf or other sports) at The Bald Head Island Club.

We have been coming to BHI for 6 years and this house by far as been our favorite! We loved the location, privacy, beautiful furnishings, space and I could go on and on! We had an issue with the washer and they went above and beyond to take care of that promptly. Thank you for the best week ever in your beautiful home!

Great location and beautiful home

This home is conveniently located mid island with easy access to the beach and the shops by bike or golf cart. The house was amazingly clean, the beds comfortable, the kitchen well stocked. It has a lovely modern feel to it. Lots of outdoor space for sitting and relaxing. Would highly recommend.

Clean and spacious

House was very clean and much nicer and larger than the pictures online. We enjoyed having the 3 golf carts to use. Grill was clean, well stocked kitchen, huge laundry room/mud room, lots of space to spread out! This is a great home for a family of 5 with teens (or older kids/adults).

Sweet September stay

The property is just about perfect. Center of the island close to all the amenities. The property has all of the items included that you would expect to have in your own home. 3 golf carts come in hand when friends come to visit. The property appeals to all ages. I would highly recommend this property to anyone

The house was very well equipped and spacious for my group of 8. The additional fridge in the garage was a nice bonus when bringing food and drinks for the entire week. We had some issues with the golf carts as one of them quit on us completely. Our host was responsive when notified of the problem although it ultimately was never properly repaired. I have taken my family to the island for many years and stayed in many different properties. I would certainly consider staying at Bait's Motel again.

Fantastic home!

We loved our stay at the Baitā€™s Motel! The home was very newly renovated and all of the amenities were brand new. All of the rooms were spacious and well decorated, and the kitchen had every convenience you would have wanted. Inside, there were tons of board games and a super cool air hockey table. Outside, there was plenty of gear for adventuring including bikes and beach chairs. And three golf carts was a huge plus! Location was fantastic - just a short ride to the market or the beach. Communication with the owners was timely and helpful. We would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to others!

Absolutely perfect!

We had the best week at Bait's Motel! This house is tremendous. Absolutely beautiful and so much space. Our kids (teens) loved the air hockey table and all of the board games and puzzles that were in the office. We all had plenty of room to spread out and find our own favorite places to hang but loved being able to come together to eat at the big dining room table and also watch movies in the living room. The house were extremely well appointed and we had everything we needed inside as well as outside for adventures to the beach. My husband especially loved the topless golf cart. The location was perfect and communication with the property management was seamless. We'd rent here over and over!

2nd Year at the Baits

Book your next stay at Bald Head here! Absolutely love it! Nestled in the woods. Easy walk or ride over to the local grocery store/restaurants/shopping. Easy walk or ride to the beach. Quiet neighbors - except for cicadas! :) The house itself is beautifully kept! Enjoy the morning cup of coffee out on the screened in porch or the breakfast nook. Plenty of room for a family to spread out and also come together for a family meal. Golf carts and bikes for every group of the family to go adventure on their own. Cozy yet spacious. Even an inviting office which makes remote work not feel like a break from vacation vibes. Bonus points for the shuffle board table, porch swing and lego artwork.

The perfect getaway

The pictures did not do this property justice. Beautiful layout nestled in the woods. Within walking distance of the beach and Jailhouse Provisions/Midway coffee. The 3 golf carts and bicycles gave us all the perfect options to explore the island. The swing and air hockey table were the perfect bonus for the teenagers. To offer some feedback. The golf carts were a little wonky to charge (the detailed instructions on the kitchen table helped manage expectations). The outside trash was in need of some maintenance - covered in spiders and bugs. That aside, loved this place! Plan to book here again next year. Thank you for sharing this home.
