Casita Sumners - A Quaint Little Spot in Paradise

Our newly updated and beautifully landscaped Casita/RV trailer house accommodation is in a perfect location for a couple or single visitor. We are located in the renowned East Cape RV Resort! If you like to stay in quaint locations with a local flair, at a fair price, then look no further.

Located near the center of the famous small pueblo of Los Barriles, our casita will provide you with just the jump off point needed to access the unbelievably wide range of activities. Short walk to markets, shops, fabulous restaurants & taquerias. And to top it off, you will be just one block from a beautiful white sand beach.

The blue-green waters of the Sea of Cortez, Jacque Cousteau called the Sea of Cortez the 'world's aquarium' is always a welcome destination. This region, known as the East Cape is a world class sportfishing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and wingfoil surfing destination. If these sports are not enough for you, you can swim, dive and ocean kayak to your heart’s content. Cycling is a hit with great options. Single track trails crisscross the hills and desert areas, as well as less traveled routes for your road bike which take off right from our place.

Los Barriles is a quiet, yet active community, located midway between Cabo and La Paz. These two thriving Mexican cities are only about an hours drive. The local Los Barriles community boasts of a vibrant mixed community of Mexicans and Americans, with an increasing group of Canadians as well.

If safety and security are important to you, this is a great location for you. East Cape RV Resort is in a Mexican Pueblo known for its friendly, safe and secure reputation. And the RV Resort offers additional safety, as it is nestled in off the road, gated behind the main office entrance. We also benefit from having friendly neighbors close by. A nice advantage is you don’t have to worry about locking everything up. This is both a safe and secure living environment. Rest assured that you and your loved ones will be well taken care of in a home-like setting.

The East Cape RV Resort is well-known in Baja, both as a the top RV Resort in all of Baja. The highly successful Awesome Sportfishing Fleet of two, is scheduled and operated by the RV Resort owners. This is a full service RV Resort so you name the activity, and you will find it available either here or nearby on the East Cape. Office staff can hook you up!

The park was awesome. Very clean and friendly. Would definitely stay here again! Our place was perfect for the 2 of us! Would love to stay here again next year.

Ideal Location in Los Barriles

Thank you for a wonderful stay in Los Barriles. The casita/camp ground was centrally located with easy access (car/foot) to restaurants, shops and the beach. The campground was quiet and extremely well maintained. The casita was comfortable and well appointed. It was a 10 minute drive to Tres Palapas, the pickleball center. I hope to return.

Sweet spot to stay in Los Barriles

We very much enjoyed our stay in this unique RV casita in a beautiful RV resort very close to the beach in Los Barriles. The quarters were very clean and well appointed, albeit small. Fortunately, the weather was nice and we spent most of our time outdoors, on the patio, at the pool, or tooling around Los Barriles. The wi-fi was not available, but, fortunately, we had good cell service there and were able to use our cellular data. We wish that our RV casita had a 5-gallon water container, as many of the other casitas did. Our unit did not, so we bought bottled water at a nearby grocery store. Our hosts were quick to respond to our inquiries and were very helpful.

What a great spot ! The location is really good , and close to everything. The park is a really friendly place, you will be treated like a friend and receive any help or info you may need . We loved the trailer , the bed is very comfortable, my husband was worried. There is everything you need , including a TV . Enjoy the area , and the price is great too !

Fantastic location in a fantastic part of Baja

Very affordable, and just 2.5 blocks from a wide open beach on the Sea of Cortez. Comfortable and clean. The covered patio was superb! Be aware, wi-fi is thru the RV park and is very sketchy. We were unable to get stable internet, even after several visits to the office. Bring your own DVD's as streaming and Roku are not available. Greg has a Roku box at the trailer, but no controller we could find. Finally, you MUST be in good shape to use the toilet! Your butt is below your knees when u sit down :-) that was an adventure! Fantastic value for the $$.

Great Escape!

The location of this property is excellent. Just a very short walk to everything you need while in Los Barriles, including the beach! But better than the location is the tranquility of the property itself. The nights are peaceful and the mornings are filled with birds singing to you. The owners were very responsive in all communications. Will definitely be back!

Great location! Comfortable stay.

Good location, comfortable accommodations, landlords very good at arranging any repairs quickly. The RV Park was very quiet and right next to the Sat. Market, Joe’s Deli, a great veggies store and lots of restaurants and grocery store within walking distance. Short walk to the beach, maybe 3 blocks.

Loved It!

This property is just as described, and exactly what we were looking for. It's located in East Cape RV park, which is beautiful, full of flowers, plants, and trees; has a beautiful pool and hot tub area. Everything in the park is kept immaculate. The RV park has all you could need as far as rentals: golf carts, kayaks, boat/fishing excursions, etc. You are just a walk away from the beach as well as everything the town has to offer. The personal outdoor space is large and very comfortable. The indoor space is spacious and well stocked. We had everything we needed to enjoy our 2 weeks there, we will definitely try to stay here again! A few things that would have been useful to us: 2 light beach chairs, a small ice chest and more towels/washcloths. Thank you for offering it- we had a magical time in Los Barriles, and your place made that possible!

Cozy Stay

The rv was very cozy and comfortable. The yard was beautiful, the campsite was amazing with lots of friendly people. Felt very safe and at home. The pool was lovely and very relaxing to lounge by. I could only suggest nicer linens in the rv and some updated movies to enjoy in the evenings. Otherwise there is everything you will need to have an awesome vacation in Los Barriles! Already planning a trip back in December!!!

Lovely Los barriles

We just returned from 8 days in this cute trailer/casita. It was wonderful. The trailer is fully equipped with everything you need, including the all important blender! The pictures don't begin to show how wonderful the outdoor space is. Tons of birds, flowers and palm trees. The rv resort itself is also beautifully landscaped and has a great pool and hit tub. We loved sitting in the hot tub at night watching the moon rise. We had a car but as the previous review noted you don't really need one unless you want to do lots of exploring. The town is tiny and you can walk everywhere. Great food for such a small place. The trailer was spotless when we arrived and roger and Gail next door ( who manage the rental) kind and helpful. We will return!

Had a great 10 days here, central for everything didn't need a car; the neighbours on the park are all so friendly and helpful; the plot is beautifully planted and it is so pleasant to sit out any time of day. Would definitely visit again.

Cute casita in great location.

My wife and I stayed here three nights in march 2013 and had a great time. Located in a beautiful RV park with great amenities and landscaping. Centraly located within walking distance of the beach and one of the best taco stands in BCS. Very friendly park and lots going on.This made a great base location for me to explore from. All of the East Cape is within a short drive and all of the local activities are hand. Many fine places to eat in this little community. Hope to go back! John

What a great place!

Hands down, this is the most beautiful RV park in Mexico. Great pool and huge hot tub. Very friendly residents, many permanent and many snowbirds. Whole park is superclean. Better than the pictures, lovely tropical landscaping. Enjoyed all our meals outside on the very private patio, trying to identify all of the different birds. Very close to the beach. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Rented ATVs and went exploring, too. the place makes a great base for a relaxing vacation. You can do as much or as little as you want in Los Barriles. Can't wait to go back!

Owners retired as Oregon Educators and retired to Maui. We vacation once a year down Mexico way, and after 18 years in Mexico at the East Cape RV Resort, we still look forward to leaving paradise in Maui and spending time in Los Barriles. Why Mexico when we live on Maui? It's the people, the way of life, all the activities, the community and all that this RV Resort has to offer. The East Cape pace is rejuvenating, the cost of living is easy to manage, friendships abound. It is so easy to enjoy life in Los Barriles.

Safety and Security are huge benefits. Good people all around you. And with that, privacy is also a plus with our extra large lot that is both fenced and nicely landscaped to create a great private living space in the midst of a great bunch of folks here in East Cape Resort.

A fall and winter paradise for wind sports, with spring and summer for excellent fishing.
Truly a leisure and sport paradise.
