Las Barrilles

We absolutely loved the property. Looked just as listed. The host were very quick to respond to our needs. We already planning to stay again next visit. Very close to the beach, town and dining places.

Comfy, cool place

Rachel and Dave have created four authentic Mexican attached "townhouses." The place was well equipped and had a beautiful pool area. Each unit had a private outdoor patio with a table and four chairs and a rooftop BBQ with a covered table and six chairs.

Old and Tired

As 2 couples we stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which turned out to be the owners villa, as they had the rest of the villas booked, mind you we did book this as far back as April 2014. The 2nd bedroom was ok but to run a shower in that bathroom took nearly 20minutes to get warm water so we gave up on that we used the main shower as our friends had to move out and stay at a local hotel because of an allergy to cats.The swimming pool could do with an overhaul as it looks very worn out plus the furniture around the pool is old and uncomfortable ,one of the other persons who stayed there fell thru one of the sun beds as it was broken but a cushion was covering it.Not much of a scenery out of the patio doors just old rocks, the pictures really need updating.The quads they rented out to us were a bit old and my one broke down plus they aren`t cheaper than brand new ones in town so we rented one of those for the last couple of days.Los Barrilles itself is an old Mexican town very quiet and some good food restaurants at very reasonable prices.I personally would`t go back as i felt let down by the pictures they make it look a lot better than it really is. If you suffer from allergies i.e. cats or dogs do not stay as they have both.

Cozy Casas, and a pool!

The BouganVillas were perfect for my husband and me. Rebecca and Dave are very accommodating hosts, and were able to help with suggestions for getting to Cabo Pulmo by car. Close to town, close to the beach, and a great place to hang out if you weren't in those other places!

Wonderful property and host

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Las BouganVillas in Buenos Aires. It's a great location for kiters (with a vehicle) and pickleballers (20 minute walk or 5 minute drive to Tres Palapas). The condo had everything we needed - BBQ, great beds, excellent wifi, satellite TV, lots of deck space for kite equipment and entertaining. We'll definitely come back here again. Thanks Rebecca!

Peace and serenity with all the amenities in Baha Sur East Cape

This wonderful property has everything you need for a perfect vacation in the laid back community of Los Barriles. The casa was designed with beautiful Mexican tile work and is nicely decorated with local art. There is a full-sized refrigerator, gas range, and dishwasher as well as your own private attached laundry room, a very desirable amenity for long-term stays. For those who need to stay connected, the WIFI service is high speed and the satellite TV has all your favorite programs. Renters also have access to a range of beach equipment. The superb North Beach is a 10 minute walk away. Your casa is one of four in a compound that shares a beautiful pool and outdoor lounge area. And each casa has its own private outdoor patio off the kitchen and a rooftop deck with outdoor kitchen. The community of Los Barriles is marvelous. There is a large contingent of ex-pats from Canada and the US who, together with the locals, have formed a friendly and delightful village with great restaurants, bars, and shops. In contrast to the hubbub of Cabos, the East Cape area on the breathtaking Sea of Cortez is the ideal location for a relaxed and carefree get-away.

Lovely condo with pool and quiet neighborhood

We had a very nice stay at BouganVillas! The condo is comfortable for two couples or a family. All the appliances you might need as well as dishes, pans, etc. are included. There is a rooftop deck that is great for eating or star gazing. We had a fun week visiting Los Barriles! Thanks Rebecca and Dave!

We were met by our host's upon arrival and we enjoyed a couple of cold ones with them and got lots of great information about the area. Would definitely book these units again.

Cool comfort in Los Barriles

Rebecca and Dave are pros and are very kind and generous. They invited us to their home for cocktails and sashimi. We had a wonderful time both in their home and at the house. This is a great place to stay and they have a wonderful swimmimg pool as well. Great set up and great people. We are planning to return again next summer with more people .

Exceeded all expectations

This was one of the very best places we have ever stayed. As two families traveling together, we had more than enough room, space to cook, a rooftop deck and a heated pool! Rebecca was super accessible and handled any issues that arose. We were able to rent quads directly through them, forgoing the hassle of picking them up or dropping them off in town. Our casa was quiet, clean, airy, and well stocked. ( hello! a juicer!) Beds were comfy, sheets were soft and bathrooms clean and cared for. We will definitely book again! We had a fantastic time!!!

This is where you want to be

You won't want to leave. Bouganvilleas drape the entrance and patios. The home is private and close to everything you will need - great restaurants, beach, fishing and well stocked grocery stores. Our casita was beautifully decorated plus a clean beautiful pool and plenty of parking. Baja has always been captivating and so is this place. Rebecca and David have created an awesome home away from home with their rentals that my friends and family will return to. Muchos Gracias Don Gallo

Great Place for Some R&R

Pick up and drop off at the airport went flawlessly. Rebecca and Dave met us at our casa for the grand tour. The casa met our expectations, not 100% perfect but hey you're in the Mexican desert on a picturesque beach, what more could you ask for!! Lazy days by the pool, beautiful evenings bbq ing on the rooftop patio, (which is huge by the way) enjoying the amazing views and watching the sunset. If we had any questions or issues Rebecca and Dave responded promptly, we just fired off an email as stated on the welcome sheet as it's the quickest way to get ahold of them. They were so kind they even left us alone in their home to use their land line to change our flights due to winter storms back home. Hopefully we will make it back next year.

You get what you pay for but not in this case

The property does have a nice roof top patio and pool area. After that it goes down hill. We found a dirty sock in our bed during our stay. There is a good sized hole in the kitchen ceiling and if you opened the dishwasher you would be sick from the smell. Cabinet drawers were dirty inside. The patio furniture along the pool needs to be sprayed down once in a while ....so we did it ? ....The air conditioner in one bedroom must have leaked numerous times prior to our stay as the wall and curtains were stained . Sofa and livingroom furniture was micro-leather so it was stained and banged up from years of use. Made you not wanted to sit on it ... should have covers at least. We are sure it must have been nice at one time but it now seems to be just a place for the owners to make money. The power was out the first day and even though the owners live close they never bothered to come down and explain it happens from time to time and not to worry. Our toilet seat broke and it took 2 days to fix ...? The place really needs a good cleaning ...and some attention. We have travelled all over the world and this place would be a 2 star in vietnam. We were so disappointed ..as we expected more from the pictures...and we do have pictures

Great Place!

I wish we could give them more stars. We've stayed here four times and will continue to come back. The house is always clean has great amenities the other people that stay in the units around us are extremely friendly and it makes for a fun environment. Will be back again.

Great accomodation

Just got back from staying there for three nights. Very comfortable, all the amenities you need to be self sufficient. Great pool and deck area. Close to town and beach. Would definitely stay there again.

Los Barriles life. Enjoy it!

The wife and I loved this place. It's not perfect but to us we could feel more at home that way. Everything you need to cook with is there. Minus the food. Rebecca and Dave are available if you need them and willing to make your stay as enjoyable as you want it. Pool was a little chilly, to be fair, it was February when we visisited and the sun was warm when you get out. Like a lizard on a rock, nice. Quads are the way to go when you visit. No need for a car. It's crazy to think you can just blast down the road, or on the beach and go into town on a quad. Can't do that back home. Thanks R&D.

Great place. Clean and comfortable.

Dave and Rebecca are great, we had a wonderful time. Rooftops sitting area is a plus with great views. Quiet setting away from the noise but still close to everything. Really liked being able to rent quads from them right there. Definitely will be returning.

Second Time Back

This was my family's second time at Dave and Rebecca's, and it was just as good, if not better, than the last (please see my previous review "Kiteboarder's Delight.") There have been a few upgrades since the last time we were here--dish television, new rooftop deck furniture, and brand new Tommy Bahamas beach chairs and umbrellas for each casa. All of which were appreciated. We were basically the only guests there during our stay, which allowed our kids to blatantly monopolize the pool every day. They also basically took ownership of Missy the dog, and are still talking about how much they miss her. It feels like a home to us, and Dave and Rebecca are the reason for that. They were even kind enough to include us in their Thanksgiving dinner, which was so thoughtful. I look hard for deals, and I honestly feel like this place is the best value in Los Barriles. The pool and rooftop deck are amazing, and the casa had everything we could possibly want--there is even a rice cooker in the kitchen! We cooked in most meals, so we really appreciated the well appointed kitchen. Dave and Rebecca are readily available, but respect your privacy. You really can't go wrong here. The East Cape is an undiscovered gem so get here before the development. Miles of vacant white sand beaches, amazing food, friendly locals, incredible diving and kiteboarding.....it doesn't get better. We will be back, and we will not bother looking at any other place to stay. Thanks to Dave and Rebecca for another wonderful holiday!!!!

Another great vacation

This was our second stay at Dave and Rebecca's property. We love this area and have been coming to Baja for years. Their property is so beautiful and quiet, makes the vacation always very relaxing. Dave and Rebecca are wonderful hosts and always there to help with suggestions for fun and with plenty of equipment to make your trip very exciting. We'll be back!! Carol and Geoff from Alaska

GREAT PLACE

David and Rebecca did a wonderful job creating the perfect Baja getaway! The 4 casitas were quiet with a really nice pool. It is like a small private resort. There were only 2 of us but it was well worth having a larger place equipped with everything we needed, although we didn't cook much since there are so many awesome restaurants. Except for the night we ate the fish I caught off the beach, a 10 min. walk away. Caught enough to share, David fileted them and Rebecca fried them up - Delicious! Get a 4-wheeler, it is the best way to get around, you can take them anywhere. Even though it is only a 30 min. walk to town and there is a cool local gringo bar less then a 5 min. walk (Los Pescadores) with excellent food and a great margarita. One of the best things was meeting David & Rebecca (Missy too). David had smart ideas for our Mexican house and because of them we won't need a guest house since our family and friends will now be staying at Las Bougan Villas!

After 20 years of traveling worldwide, we found Los Barriles. Because the Sea of Cortez is calm much of the time, this area provides us with the most options of things to do. Avid fishermen, 'we only go for fish bigger than us.' The beautiful and still untouched white sand beaches are where I run my Australian Shepherd, during the summer entirely alone on miles of beach. We have lived here year-round for 15 years, and are still lovin' it!

AMENITIES!!! We built this 4-plex with an eye to maximizing the benefits of a vacation rental. Everything about this property was thought out thoroughly and intentionally. Protected from winter North winds, each home is staggered and leveled for maximum privacy. The beds and linens are all of highest quality. The kitchens are stocked with most every appliance you could need. Each home even has its own washer/drier, so that absolutely nothing is shared except the pool! We built a huge 30 foot shaded pool and surrounded it with lush patios. The outdoor lighting and landscaping truly gives the pool, entertaining areas and total property the resort feel, with the privacy of a home rental.

Catering to our guests needs and desires, we offer on-site quads, side-by-sides, and stand-up-paddleboards, at daily, weekly, or monthly rates.
