Thank you so much for the stay and this wonderful review! It was so nice to meet your family. You make some really good points to help future travelers determine if the cottage will be the right for them so I will add a bit more to help future guests. The Cottage is ideal for a couple but a family with one or possibly two young children could make it work. It does not have two bedrooms so it is not ideal for parents with two teenagers. Clinton and I chatted about this before he booked so this wasn't a surprise to him. His kiddos would set up their cots in the living room at night and put them away in the walk-in closet during the day. You are welcome to do the same but just be aware that the cottage is cozy. Clinton also makes some good points about Lopez Island and its sleepy seaside village. Even during the summer, most stores close after 8 pm here. There is always at least one restaurant open each day but we only have 6 restaurants on the island. We do have two very nice grocery stores and the cottage does have a full kitchen. Clinton is also right to point out that we are not your typical tourist destination and this is very intentional. Islanders believe that all of the things that Lopez is not are in fact our island's best amenities. The lack of civilization makes it a quiet and gentle place to escape. Lopez does have the most accessible and largest coastal preserves/ beaches in the San Juan Islands. If you are looking to connect with nature in your own cozy cottage this might be the property for you! Thank you Clinton and Family for your stay.
