Beautiful Private Home on the Intracoastal Waterway, 1 Mile to Beach

This private home is located on the Matanzas river (Intracoastal waterway) in a small town on a barrier island east of Palm Coast known as The Hammock. It is one mile from the Atlantic Ocean and is a tropical Utopia. This is truly a secret "old Florida".
Our home is beyond beautiful with a relaxing and serene atmosphere. There is a dock that is great for sunbathing or fishing. Dolphins, manatees and sailboats pass on a daily basis. The ocean is only a mile away. Two minutes in the car, 5 minute bike or a 10-15 minute walk. The beach is relatively private, adjacent a Jack Nicholas progressional golf course. There is a grocery store one block away for convenience. There are cozy restaurants and cute towns near by, such as Saint Augustine and Daytona beach. Also, Disney World and all of the theme parks are only an 1.5 hour drive away. If you are looking for a peaceful beach getaway, this is your perfect rental for large groups and parties.

Great place for large group for the Daytona 500

Great location off the beaten path. Perfect for avoiding the traffic to the speedway. Beautiful riverfront dock. We saw dolphins feeding, baby deer playing, great fishing....we almost wanted to skip the race and stay at the house. The owner and daughter are lovely. The house has a great cabin feel with tons of room. We will be visiting again in the summer.

Beautiful, relaxing pet-friendly getaway

We had a wonderful time on the water with our two adult children and family dogs. We loved hanging out on the beautiful boathouse, and the house was perfect for our needs...The location is excellent with Publix just a block away and Bing's Landing park and boat ramp and beautiful Washington Oaks Gardens State Park beach just up the road. Melissa and Shannon were very helpful and responsive with everything. Highly recommend!

Group Retreat

Family Wedding

Our family looked for a vacation home where we could spend the week of our son's wedding. There were 13 of us ranging in age from 3 years to 91 years of age. We are so happy that we found this vacation home and were very pleased with the amenities it offered to meet the needs of all the adults and children in our group. I asked my 4 adult children for input for this review and this is what they said: Apple TV allowed us to share our photos and videos; it is an amazing location right across from the beach with the perfect set up; grill outside with a dock to fish; blender to make smoothies; big table for puzzles and games, awesome porches to hang out; cool decor; close to Publix; friendly owners who were very flexible and easy to deal with; it was awesome. The ultimate compliment - we would definitely stay there again!

Perfect for Family Reunion

Fantastic Stay!! Our Family had not been all together in two years, we had decided to all meet up at the beach to stay for a week, found this gem of a rental. The rate was fantastic and the owners were amazing! They offered recommendations for lots of fun things to do, which we were excite to do, but ended up enjoying the property and each other the most. The home was perfect for our large group, 15 of us! We had 8 kids and 7 adults, Melissa made sure we were very comfortable by preparing air mattresses and bedding for everyone of us. The house was beautiful inside and out with plenty of space. We even rented a kayak one day, but spent most of our time at the beach which was just across the road. There was also a publix right across the street, which was extremely convenient since we were feeding so many, the Kitchen was very comfortable to work in even with so many. We really enjoyed the trip so much! We are glad we didn't stay anywhere else but here and hope to do it again when the family can be together again.

Beautiful property, excellent fishing dock, spotlessly clean. Great!

Owners and caretaker are so amenable and courteous. Lovely to deal with. Very laid back, but offering good old fashioned southern hospitality. Florida vacationing at its best. The tranquility of the surroundings and the cool breezes off the dock made each day a pleasure.Even saw some deer across the river. Supermarket is directly across A1A. so is the ocean off beautiful, clean Hammock beach. Wine and cheese shop a couple of blocks up where you can enjoy the wine tasting and music on a Friday or Saturday night. We loved it. Rural, coastal, serene, lovely. Will book again. Electronics a little outdated, but if your here to stay inside and play games or watch TV then go to a hotel. This place is real Florida living.

Perfect family vacation!

The owner made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Being from the area, they were able to give "inside information" as to the best places. The home was well-stocked with anything you could possibly need. It easily accomodated 5 adults, 9 kids, and a dog. The owner set up mattresses and made sure each person had a place to sleep. It was private and peaceful on the intercoastal waterway. This is the perfect place to go if you are burned out and need to escape! Plenty of books to read or movies to watch, or just fish off the dock and enjoy the gorgeous creation. It is conveniently located between St. Augustine and Daytona so we were able to enjoy a long stretch of A1A beaches. The owner is the best! They are convenient and you will receive undivided attention, unlike some rental companies with several rental listings. This is by far the best value because many of the other listings charge cleaning fees and taxes. It also came stocked with breakfast foods so we didn't have to worry about getting up early and finding somewhere to eat or going to the store ourselves. I was so pleased to spend the time with my family and we didn't get on each other's nerves :) Like in small hotel rooms where you have to climb over each other and don't have room to breathe. It's home away from home.
