Beachbums Hideaway - Unique Artsy Beachfront Townhouse

Tired of staying at impersonal, expensive, noisy condos? Want a calm, beautiful place to call "home" during your vacation? Beachbums Hideaway is a unique artistic haven for you to refresh.

It's a three story (non-smoking) beachfront townhouse located directly on the Emerald Coast. On Okaloosa Island, with 3 bedrooms (one is a fully functional Studio) and 4 bathrooms for up to 8 people to stay. Furnished private beach deck and two private balconies to enjoy the gorgeous views and look for dolphins swimming past.

The owner is a photographer - Old Man and the Sea Photography. You will find his stunning beach photography hanging on the walls. All of his work is from local waterways. There are also two art murals on the walls, painted by a family friend, that add to the creative ambience.

Enjoy your morning coffee or tea from the breakfast bar. There is a fully equipped kitchen, so you can enjoy meals together at the dining table or al fresco. There is a view of the Emerald Coast inside and out!

Private walkover that goes over the sea oats and directly to the emerald blue waters and white sand beach.

Beach gear (chairs, boogie boards, frisbees, kids toys) is provided.

Nearby shopping, fishing, parasailing, water parks, mini-golf, Crab Island, scuba diving and snorkeling. Cute coffee shops, restaurants, live music, ice cream and waterfront parks. Destin and 30A are a short drive away.

At night, chill with a board game, watch cable TV from every room, stargaze the beautiful night sky full of stars.

Personal driveway with 4 parking spaces.

Our townhouse is not for everyone. If you want to party until the wee hours of the morning, there are plenty of other units available. But if you don't mind being fairly quiet from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM, and enjoy just kicking back with a margarita and a little Jimmy Buffett music, this should suit you fine.

We really enjoyed our stay at BeachBums Hideaway. It was clean and family friendly. The deck has a perfect view right on the beach. We would definitely stay here again. Chris the owner was great and went out his way to make sure our family had a great time.

Everything was excellent. The townhouse is directly in the beach, which meant easy access and great views. The place was very clean and had everything we needed during our stay. Communication with the host was also fast and detailed. We will certainly be back.

This place was perfect! Great location for all that we wanted to do. The beach was fantastic and we had super easy access to it. I don't think that we could a picked a more perfect listing. If we ever get a chance to go back to this area we will look for this very same place. The home had everything that we needed and more. Definitely a beach bums PERFECT hideaway!

Amazing Place/Location

This is definitely my favorite place I’ve ever stayed in Florida! The condo has everything you need & you walk right outside & you’re on the beach. This was the first time I’ve actually had interaction with the host out of the many times I’ve used VRBO & they were so awesome & kind! I will definitely be returning here for a future stay & this will be my go to spot from here on out.

Fantastic beach bungalow right on the beach

My husband and I just spent a wonderful 5 days enjoying this precious little oasis! It’s perfect for a couples’ stay...cozy and chock full of everything you need from shampoo to charcoal, a well-supplied kitchen, sunscreen, fluffy beach towels, beach chairs & boogie boards, too. Friendly Owners, Perfect Location

Great rental for a couple. Not sure about a child staying also since it is pretty small but it's doable. Had everything we needed. Location was SPOT ON. Restaurants and a Publix just up the road and that beautiful beach just out the back door. We'd love to make this a yearly visit.

Excellent getaway spot!

We loved our stay and will definitely go back as soon as possible! Dave and Ginny were great. It’s a perfect couples get away spot. You park right at the door and it’s right on the beach!! You also have a private patio for drinks in the evening. Also beach chairs and and umbrella for the beach. I have already referred friends to them and will continue to do so.

Beachbum paradise!

Wonderful stay!! Perfect little studio for my husband & I. We wanted a place steps from the beach that was quiet & relaxing — that’s exactly what we got! This little Beachbum studio apartment has so much character & is so inviting. The owners, Dave & Ginny, put a lot of thought into making it comfortable & unique. The beach & water were beautiful. We love to walk & run and there were safe neighborhoods & sidewalks on the main road, which was a bonus. We will definitely be back!

This is just as described. If your looking for a beautiful beach & quiet location this is it. You just walk out the patio up a few steps on the walkway bridge & there you are….. the beach! The bungalow is cozy & the two of us were comfortable. Location is away from the hustle & bustle of the strip but it’s really only a short drive away. We hope to book this again!

What a great find. You are right on the beach a literal few feet from the access. The place comes with everything you need from sun lotion to charcoal. We were really impressed with attention to detail in everything (great decorating). The patio was great for eating between walks to the beach and grilling out. We will definitely be returning when we can. Thanks!

Perfect Hideaway!!

Steps to the beach! Dave and Ginny have thought of everything that anyone could need. The studio is adorable and very clean. We were at the beach all day and watched old movies after dark. It’s a little slice of heaven! We have already rebooked for September. :)

Closest to the beach you can get!!!

Dave and Ginny are absolutely amazing! Very attentive and have given their little piece of paradise everything you could ever hope for in a beach house. They are kind enough to share all of their beach items; beach towels, beach chairs and an ice chest! They kitchen has a large refrigerator to store any food and drinks you may have. The bed is comfortable and it was so relaxing to stretch out the couch and cover up with a quilt. Dave and Ginny have went the extra mile to make sure your stay is one you’ll never forget!!

When my parents, Dave and Ginny, bought the town home in 1998 it was a real 'fixer upper'. Dave spent two years remodeling the two upper levels and then decided to build a studio apartment in the rear of the garage. We always wanted to own a Bed and Breakfast and we feel that our unit is the next best thing to it. We wanted a unique rental where our guests would feel at home and more like family, not just another impersonal condo. Since we opened for business in March 2004 we have been blessed with almost continuous bookings from March through October. We used to just rent the downstairs studio and live upstairs, however, now we have moved to a one story house more inland, and we rent out the full townhouse. Dave and Ginny's daughter, Chris, is now the property manager, and she is happy to help you with your booking and any questions you may have. Many of our guests come back year after year, that we now consider family, and we will never forget who actually pays our bills.

Okaloosa Island is a little 'hidden gem' on the Emerald Coast. Quiet, laid back, very little traffic and beautiful beaches. And our Beachbums Hideaway is right on the beach! What more could you ask for?

The Beachbums Hideaway is truly unique..... complete with art from my Dad, Old Man and the Sea Photography, and two original wall murals.
We provide everything you need.....towels, linens, beach chairs, cooler, boogie boards, etc. All you really need to bring are your personal items, food, and drinks.
