Eastern Lake Lakefront! Easy access to the Gulf! Pirate Ship & Treehouse!

Unlimited access to the beach. This spacious, 2 bedroom 2 bathroom cottage is nestled in a grove of scrub oaks, on a bluff overlooking Eastern Lake. The Gulf of Mexico is about a 200 yard walk, due south. When you use the county access walkway, it leads you to over 350' of county owned public beach, surrounding the Eastern Lake Inlet, a gorgeous place for kids to play.
You will have to wade across the Inlet, which is sometimes ankle deep, or sometimes thigh deep water, or you can use a completely "dry" public access about 75 yard west of there. We think the most enjoyable way to get to the beach is to paddle in one of the canoes and kayaks that we provide. The cottage is the bottom half of our home, and it features a Pirate Ship and a Treehouse for fun and amusement.
Deer Lake State Park is less than 1 mile to the east. All of Scenic Highway 30-A is connected by a pedestrian bicycle and walking path. WaterSound, Alys Beach, and Rosemary Beach are within about 6 miles to the east. The Big Chill is a restaurant/ shopping hub about 2 miles east, and the town of Seaside is about 3 miles west.
This house is located in a quiet, nice old Florida neighborhood south of 30-A on Eastern Lake, with restaurants, shops, golfing, and bike rentals nearby. There is limited parking. We must stress to you that we have a 7 PERSON MAXIMUM CAPACITY and have PARKING available for only ONE CAR.

If you need additional bedrooms and parking spaces, we also offer a separate 4 Bedroom, 4 Bathroom rental home with a swimming pool, located right next door. You can view it at VRBO #721289

I added lots of photos that show parts of this awesome VRBO! This was our second time to stay here and won’t be our last! We really love being on the lake but still just a hundred yards or so to the beach! Owners are very friendly and you never even know they are there!

Wonderful for Family with Kids

We absolutely loved our stay, the property is so uniquely decorated and truly keeps the old Florida style alive. We loved the natural feel of the back yard and the preservation of the original landscape. The our 8 year old loved the pirate ship and the whole family enjoyed the kayaks/canoes on the lake and swimming in the lake. it was perfect for post beach relaxing and floating. the interior is very well decorated and the perfect size for a family of 5-7. We will definitely be looking to bring our family back to Days Gone By.

Location, Location

Lovely cottage with amazing view and use of Eastern Lake with very brief walk to beach access. The beds are comfortable and the roomy kitchen is well equipped. The updated master bath is beautiful! We enjoyed our stay.

This was an excellent trip! We loved everything about the property. It was beautiful, serene, and VERY relaxing. The house was perfect for our family of 4. We loved the lake view from the dock, kayaking back and forth to the beach, and playing board games around the table at night. We would have loved to stay another week! Loved our stay here!

We really enjoyed our stay here! Even though it was just the lower level, it was still very spacious and you didn’t feel cramped at all. The place was very clean and it offered everything we needed and more. Not having to bring boards, beach chairs, and umbrellas was nice. We really loved having the kayaks. It was nice to come up in the middle of the day or the evenings and use them. The kayaks and fishing off the dock kept my 13 year old very entertained when we just needed some downtime. I will say that the owners were on site. They were staying upstairs so there were some times when you could hear them walking around or talking. We never felt like our privacy was compromised. They answered questions when we had them, but didn’t impede on our space otherwise. We were really pleased with our stay! We really enjoyed bringing food back to the house and having breakfast and supper on the dock too. Sunrises were beautiful on the dock.

Perfect location!

Best of both worlds with lakefront property and quick access to the beach! The pirate ship and treehouse were amazing and a hit with the kids. We loved kayaking the lake and canoeing to the beach. Quick walk to an ice cream shop and a great outdoor restaurant too.

Beautifully Amazing!

This property was beautiful and quiet! We are a family of four and we had plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable. It had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. This area was quiet, which we loved! It was also an easy walk to the beach but be prepared to cross a thigh high inlet to get there! My son fished off the dock the entire time we were there! Overall, a great family vacation!

A special spot on 30A

Really cool house. Right on Eastern Lake. Perfect location. Close to beach. House was perfect for our family of 4. Kids loved the pirate ship (truly an awesome creation!). Hosts were on site but we never felt like our privacy was compromised. The dock on the lake was awesome. And all of the included equipment was a huge bonus. Great kayaks, a canoe and beach gear available to use. This is a really great place to stay.

Seagrove 2024

Always a great stay in this Eastern Lakefront property. Owners are always great host, unit is very clean and accommodating for all near by beach towns and activities. Paddle around the lake, paddle to the beach, walk or bike - take your pick or do all three! The beach is a short walk two public access. You can rent beach chair at Ramsgate access or this unit has great chairs that where easy to carrry with a great umbrella. All the beach town you would need too! Great places to eat near by....already miss the morning coffee sitting on the deck over looking the lake watching the sun rise - and the sun sets....Can't wait for a return trip very soon!

Wonderful stay

This house was perfect for our family of four (kids aged 2 and 8). The kids loved the pirate ship and treehouse! We loaded up the canoe to take our stuff to the beach each day. The beach area was ideal for small children where Eastern Lake meets the ocean. Our toddler loved playing in the shallow water there. The house itself was very relaxing and we enjoyed drinking coffee on the shady patio with views of the lake. It was like having a beach house and a lake house in one. Our kids are already asking when we can go back!

Awesome beach house

We had a great time at this house! It was since and shaded and offered a beautiful view of the inlet lake. Our boys loved the pirate ship and tree house! It was easy and fun to kayak to the beach. We were walking distance from a great ice cream shop and a couple of awesome restaurants. Thank you Garrett and Nina for a great place to stay!

What a treat!

There aren't enough adjectives to describe how lovely our stay was at Garrett's place.The home has been improved even more since the pictures so it's even better than what is pictured, believe it or not! Our 3, 8 and 10 year old kiddos loved playing on the pirate ship and we loved the convenience of being able to load everyone on canoes and paddle ourselves to the beach each day. The home felt very private and comfortable - we had all we needed for a wonderful stay and are already looking forward to our next visit to this wonderful home! Thank you Garrett for being such a great host!

Nice get away

The property was beautiful, lots of trees and shade. As said by other guests, the upstairs is occupied by the owner but that was never a problem. We used the numerous human propelled watercraft to get to the beach daily, but a short walk would’ve done the same. It’s a quaint little neighborhood and the property manager was very receptive to communication and outlined the stay perfectly. If you’re looking for seclusion and a good place to sit on a dock and have a cocktail or coffee this is your place.

Great 2 week vacay

This property had it all. Location, tree house and pirate ship that the kids loved, kayaks, surf boards, umbrella, chairs. We didn’t have to come with anything. Also really liked the space, we didn’t feel cramped as a family of 4 in a 2 bedroom. We loaded up kayaks every day with gear and off to the beach. Very happy and would recommend.

Of Days Gone By

This is a very special, very quaint, and well cared for property on Eastern Lake - nestled within a canopy of native Florida Scrub Oak w/twinkling lights at night. We loved all of its special features from the trail leading up to the door, to the brick patio w/patio swing, a deck for grilling/dining or enjoying a view of the lake and ocean to the pirate ship complete with an upper lookout tower! We enjoyed walks to the beach and kayaking. The town is upscale (great real estate) w/many restaurants, shopping, fresh seafood shops, and grocery stores. We would recommend not visiting during spring break b/c the town is so busy, but that's our preference. We were very thankful to have such a wonderful retreat to dine & entertain family/friends in this spacious, private, and very comfortable home and property. The outdoor living space was enchanting! Highly recommend! Oh, and the owners are very responsive with outstanding communication.

New Favorite Place to Stay at the Beach

We have been vacationing along the Gulf Coast for 22 years and have stayed at places ranging from Panama City, Pensacola, Rosemary Beach, Destin, San Destin, to Gulf Shores, Alabama and I have found a new favorite place to stay at the beach with "Of Days Gone By." The accommodations are exactly as depicted. The place is clean, the grounds are well maintained, the facilities are outstanding, and the hosts are pleasant and helpful. We took our 3 adult sons on vacation with us and between the kayaks and beach equipment provided by the owner, we never ran out of things to do; it was not the normal condo or beach house experience, where you have a place to sleep and eat, but little else to do when you come off the beach. I like the fact that the house is on a lane that is off the beaten path, but the walk to the beach is short. I give "Of Days Gone By" my highest personal recommendation.

Great find on a beautiful beach

We really enjoyed our time here at this unique property. Having access to both the lake and beach is wonderful. We enjoyed kayaking in the lake and using the canoe to haul everything to the beach each day. We didn't have to rent any equipment, and the boathouse on the property was in great shape. The house itself is very nice — just as advertised — and the hosts were welcoming. We had plenty of privacy and never felt that we were staying in someone else's home. I'd highly recommend this property for families. Our kids loved the dock and the lake, and the nearby beach is just beautiful. It sure beats your typical high-rise on the gulf coast!

Amazing!

This property is well maintained has amenities such as beach chairs, umbrellas, kayaks everything you need for the beach. It’s a short walk to the beach or we just took the kayaks to the inlet and just enjoyed the beach. The kids had a blast! Thank you Garrett!
