Fun but a bit annoyed

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I had asked specifically if there would be any construction, such as roofing, going on during our stay. And was told, no, yet the building next door to us, let's being roofed. Also I asked specifically, if the island was back open. To business and was told, yes, most everything is open. When we got there, we found out most. Everything is still closed, including restaurants. A lot of restaurants were only open Thursday through Sunday.We also lost power to our building for about half a day, and then on another day, I'll start air conditioning for a large portion of the day.The no see ums were the worst i've ever seen anywhere! I would not recommend this property to friends until all the construction has been completed. And I feel like you should be honest with your renters!

Reopened too soon

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Knowing the devastation and recovery from Hurricane Ian, our expectations were lowered when booking vacation. However, during our stay we quickly came to the realization that the property has opened prematurely and did not provide a satisfactory experience. The property is an active construction zone, as the majority of the island is also. The noise is not only comes from the Sanibel Mooring property, but from the adjacent properties. We were told that construction was limited to 9 am- 5 pm, but we experienced noise as early as 7:30 am. There is also a bug problem on the property. The condo we stayed in has a termite problem. The termites and their droppings are visible on the kitchen counter. This was confirmed by the Orkin service person sent to the unit to spray for palmetto bug issue. During our stay there were days of heavy rain and leak started. We had to move units as a result. The rains also created an undesirable problem on the only access way opened to the beach. Since there is no longer an elevated boardwalk the rains flooded the area and for days we had to walk through ankle deep dirty water. Not a good experience! We are long time visitors to Sanibel Moorings and want nothing more than to see it’s comeback, but our experience this stay was not very satisfactory. It’s obvious that they opened the property prematurely and are falling short on providing an overall positive experience.

Anniversary is paradise!

Reviewer Comments: My wife and I decided to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary in Sanibel and took advantage of an award from my company to stay at Sanibel Moorings. Beautiful and relaxing stay!!

Great place to stay!

The condo was spacious, pretty and clean. The property was beautiful and loved having a pool on the property and beach access with chairs and umbrellas. I highly recommend staying there!

Wonderful beach trip

We enjoyed being so close to the beach, and the tropical landscaping throughout the property. It was super easy to find chairs and umbrellas for the beach. The pool was the perfect size and was a great temperature on the cloudy days. We hope to return to Sanibel Moorings for our next beach trip!
