Hi Michael, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. The road was a little messy then, it was just after two days of torrential downpours. We got a significant portion of our annual rainfall earlier that week. As soon as it dried out a bit David got out on the tractor and restored the road. I'm glad you were able to cope! But, as ever, we were nearby to help if needed. I hope you are able to visit again soon.

I’m glad you enjoyed our Cabin in the Woods. We love the quiet there. There are still a couple of unpaved roads over mountains if you come in to us the back way via Highway 74A. Although the views are amazing we do provide a caution and an alternate route in your check-in time confirmation e-mail sent the day before arrival. The more commonly used routes are all paved.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Cabin in the Woods and appreciated its secluded setting, cleanliness, amazing Internet, crystal clean hot tub, and comfy bed. We would like to clarify that a truck or SUV four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended but is NOT required to access the cabin. Over the past 18 years, hundreds of guests have successfully accessed the cabins in standard passenger vehicles. As noted in our confirmation and check-in information, we simply recommend avoiding vehicles with very low ground clearance. Also, all of our cabins have space for 2 vehicles. At the Cabin in the Woods there is room for a second car in the space that leads to the barbecue shed. We love your suggestion for towels for the hot tub! I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. We’ve leveled and repaired the grill – looked like Hurricane Michael did a little damage there – but fortunately that was all! We have two fire pits on our 20-acre property – one near the pond and one near the creek. We don’t have them at each cabin because for the cabins that are on the wooded portion of the property it would be a major fire hazard. I’m sure you understand that the safety of our guests is a critical factor in deciding where to put fire pits on the property. Putting fire pits in a wooded area is just not safe.
